Nothing to complain about, that's why we keep going there.

The staff were very friendly but the beds were terrible. The bed base on one bed was too small for the mattress so you toppled out if you turned over in bed as the mattress would slide off. Mattresses were very uncomfortable spring mattresses that you could feel when you laid down.

It was awesome. Buy just 2 things to mention. It had a workspace which was really good but there was only stools to sit on which aren't ideal as I had some work have bad back and also like to meditate. The staff kindly exchanged it for a chair but it fell apart. The other one that replaced it was better but still quite old and worn. I'd advice to get new ones.

The other thing was the food. It was really nice however burned and some of the chips were inedible. I had to wait a long time and was expecting great things because good things come to those who wait. But I think I could have had it sooner and not burned. Apart from that everything good. I only had the food once because I was budget holiday eating in aldi but I'd happily try the food again it was apart from being overdone really nice.

The staff experience during my stay was inconsistent, ranging from friendly and engaging to, at times, dismissive and borderline rude.

On arrival, I had to move rooms due to a maintenance issue, which I completely understand can happen. However, the replacement room felt quite dark and not particularly clean, which was disappointing.

Housekeeping was also lacking. There were no visits between Monday and Wednesday, and it wasn’t until Thursday that I received fresh towels and replenished tea and coffee.

I also experienced ongoing issues with my room key, which had to be reassigned daily as it didn’t seem to remain active. After long working days of 12–13 hours, this became increasingly frustrating. On Thursday, the response from the bar staff when I needed assistance with this felt noticeably irritated, which added to the experience.

On departure, I approached reception to request a copy of my invoice. The individual present was abrupt and unhelpful, and it turned out they did not work on reception. A more appropriate response would have been to politely redirect or assist in arranging for the invoice to be sent, rather than the manner in which it was handled.

There were also some inconsistencies around food availability. I was informed that meals were not served on Mondays, then on Tuesday due to functions, and on Wednesday evening I was too late for the carvery, with only a sandwich option available.

That said, I would like to highlight that the food I did receive on Wednesday was very good, and the staff that evening were particularly friendly and welcoming.

This venue had been recommended to me by a friend who spoke very highly of the service, staff, and food, so I do appreciate that my experience may not reflect the usual standard. However, during my stay, there were several areas where service and communication could be improved.

There seemed to be short staffing at times which affected bar service at times.

A fridge would have been handy as we eat in a lot. A bath as well as a shower and also a bigger sink so the kettle can be filled easily

It's a budget hotel. To me, it exceeded my expectations. I therefore have nothing to complain about.

The music in the pub in the hotel was very loud and was till midnight. The hotel also has a function room where music was till midnight as well. Not possible to sleep before midnight.
At 8 am another constant noise started from somewhere in the hotel, was there when we left.
You can not regulate temperature in the shower.
