It is so friendly & accommodating to your needs
Amazing food too
Potentially air con would be nice
Excellent bedroom/bathroom
Clean bedroom
Dyson fan was great
Dining area very nicely designed
Lack of gluten free food
Evening menu given not the one advertised on the website
Looked like a load of sugar had been silt on the floor in the breakfast area. No attempt was made to clear it up despite it not being busy
Carpets on the stairs to the bedrooms could have done with a clean
The bedside tables are funky but impractical - no room to put anything on
Everything was perfect!
The room was exceptionally clean and you could tell the housekeeping team work very hard.
Loved the extra touches - beautifully soft robes, gorgeous toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine and pods, complimentary water and milk and a large Dyson fan which came in very handy as it was 32 degrees when I stayed.
They have even thought of offering a free drink at the bar on arrival.
There is also a 15% discount on the room rate for repeat guests.
In addition the electric charging points in the car park were especially convenient.
I love staying here and I look forward to my next stay.
Nothing
From first contact staff were super friendly and this throughout our visit. Dog and bike friendly. Good food.
Breakfast was good, with a wide time band. The rooms would normally have been ideal but in sweltering conditions and only a Dyson fan to cool you, the temperature remained uncomfortable. The showers were great, powerful, clean and modern. The staff were helpful and attentive, food and drink range was good, it's not far from the South Downs Way, and value for money was excellent. Longer term, a bit of air con would go a long way.
As mentioned, air con would help although I appreciate it's not a cheap retro-fit.
Booked an accessible room and was just that ground floor, very close to reception. Room was spacious have all facilities would expect, large wet room, plenty of room around furniture.
The only negative about the room for an accessible room the bed was very high from the ground making a little challenging
Friendly and clean
All good
Location is superb for anyone wanting easy access to the South Downs, Butser Hill or Queen Elizabeth Country Park. These are all a short walk away.
The room had an ill-fitting toilet door which wouldn't shut completely, and the toilet seat was dangerously loose. As there was a wedding going on and the staff were fully occupied we managed without either being resolved (as we were only there one night).
Everything else was superb!
Smart bathroom with great shower.
Bed too soft. Room a bit functional.
Good choice of cooked breakfast but VERY POOR continental choice.
This is our second stay at The Hampshire Hog. It is comfortable and has very friendly staff. We asked for a ground floor room, which they provided. We have had dinner there both times, and the meals are tasty and reasonably priced. The hotel is also really conveniently located for onward travel from the Portsmouth area (which we needed) but, despite this, is really quiet.
The lighting in the bedroom is a bit dim. Even with every light turned on, it's a bit too subdued given the darkish decor. But that's a minor point. They could also do with more staff at breakfast - when we were there just one person seemed to be juggling breakfast service and answering questions about checking out.
The chicken supreme was fine but served with FOUR green beans? I pre ordered raspberry sorbet but none available. Given coconut sorbet instead - tasteless! Not my idea of of a good meal. Needs to improve.
Good parking
Great value menu
Free drink on arrival
Good breakfast
Very friendly staff
Very soft mattress
