All rooms are nonsmoking. Ground floor rooms are available and there are several rooms on the 1st floor. Please inform the hotel of any special requirements as the hotel does not have a elevator and ground floor rooms are limited.
Availability in the Kings Room Restaurant is limited and advanced booking is advised.

Room, bathroom, historic rooms
Roast beef at lunch not as tender as expected but lunch otherwise excellent.
Receptionist forgot to give us the exit number for the car park so I had to walk back in the rain.
This is an extraordinary place. The room and also the bathroom were huge and very comfortable. The whole hotel has a very beautiful interior and is a kind of comfortable vivid museum ;) Thank you for preserving this wonderful historic building.

Friendly and very helpful staff who created a lovely atmosphere between them. The general atmosphere is relaxed and happy.
The mattresses on the beds are on the firm side, but this is purely a personal choice in what is comfy for each person to sleep on.

Three flights of stairs to reach my room and no lift. Glad I wasn't lugging a big suitcase!

Le prix élevé, comme si Grantham prenait des airs de Londres : je n'y ai passé que trois nuits au lieu de quatre pour rester dans un budget raisonnable ; un supplément a été ajouté parce que j'arrivais trois heures plus tôt que l'heure du check in.

Room was isolated. No lift (but lifts hadn't been invented when the building was erected).
The building is beautiful and location is great for the town (also pretty good for the station - there’s nothing much closer).
The room was incredibly hot, even in cooler weather in September. Breakfast had excellent produce, but was just enormous and expensive (presumably due to the quantity) - I ended up leaving lots of it, which felt awful, but it was just way too big (hanging off the edges of the plate).
