Nice welcoming public areas, shame about the bedroom.
Pros:

Reception area, restaurant and the Cocktail bar were lovely, friendly staff

Cons:

The room was tired, radiator did not work so the room was cold, although there was a small oil electric heater it took a while to heat up.
The bedroom needs an upgrade, very old fashioned but a comfy bed.
Breakfast was charged separately £18.95.....travelling alone or even with someone I would not pay that much for breakfast.

2nd floor, no lift, difficult for my partner who has difficulty with stairs

Central location. Good parking if a little expensive at £5 a day

An historical beauty
Pros:

Staff at reception were friendly and enthusiastic; as well as very efficient!
The hotel is architecturally stunning with gorgeous rooms - all with historical features but tastefully brought into the 21st Century. There is a clear sign of love and respect for the property.
The room itself has a nice big built-in wardrobe with extra room above it; a large double bed, two bedside cabinets with a myriad of draws, plugs with USB-A and a lamp on each side of the bed; and a modern bathroom with walk-in shower.

Cons:

If you're over 6 foot, be mindful of your head as some of the door frames were not built with tall people in mind.

Ideal for any occasion
Pros:

Have visited the Angel and Royal restaurant 3 times recently and every time the food and service was faultless. The staff very attentive and pleasant, Good location in town with it's own barriered car park at the rear of the hotel. Lovely venue for special occasions. Highly recommend it.

Would come back again. Can’t fault food and service, friendly staff.
Pros:

Great location and parking - food and service in restaurant first class

Cons:

My only gripe was I’d booked a twin room and got a ground floor accessible room - and bathroom geared up for wheelchair users. The bedroom and decor was great but disappointed by the bathroom - we weren’t warned about this.

Long staircase to upper floor, no lift. Room heating took an age to come on.
