First Class all round
Pros:

Great Swimming pool facilities; Spa; Breakfast!
Concierge team exceptional.

Cons:

Here is the caveat. Villa Aggripina adds a discretionary service charge to your bill on check out. In our case this was Eur290, on a 5-night stay. I was surprised, but paid it anyway. We had also on departure, without this information, individually given a gratuity to 5 members of staff who had looked after us particulary well.

I have also noticed other reviews bemoaning an additional charge for using the Spa facilities - in some packages. I had argued in advance that this facility should be included, and V Aggripina duly agreed before our arrival. I do firmly believe that the room rate for this very good 5-star hotel should very much include the complimentary use of Spa facilities. Treatments of course will be additional.

A relaxing city escape
Pros:

We loved the facilities in the hotel including the pool area, the spa and the bar. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were very attentive.

Cons:

It is to be expected in the hotel but the drinks particularly the cocktails were not as nice as those around the city and very pricey.

Pros:

Excellent stay, great spa BUT it is an extra charge just to sauna and steam room which is a bit greedy when your already paying a premium for rooms. Brunch and dinner great.
