I am currently still at this hotel only because I am held captive by the policy. The experience has been bad since check in and only kept getting worse.
I have stayed at many 5 star hotels all over the world and this has to be the worst one - hands down.
This is my first trip to Ghana but my 3rd time in Africa and the decision was between here and the Kempinski and to be honest I wish I had paid a bit more to go with Kempinski.
I ignored the bad reviews and thought people were over reacting but alas here I am wishing I’d listened.
First, I suggest you hold off on booking until a day or two before your trip or get refundable and adjust as prices dropped dramatically closer to our travel dates.
Next, the front desk staff while cordial do not deliver 5 star hotel customer service. The best service came from the team in the executive lounge - 6 stars for George and Nicholas and David.
Back to the hotel. Lovely lounge and lobby but that’s where it ends. The carpets need shampooing and my room smelled like mildew. The rooms lack any character and the temperature is centrally controlled which is odd at best.
I asked for different accommodations (two rooms) instead of one and was told this couldn’t happen despite there being plenty of availability at the hotel. I complained to the desk staff, desk manager, then the guest relations manager. No reply until I reached out to ask about a follow-up.
Seriously?
And finally (keep in mind we’ve been here less than 24 hours) we requested washcloths via email to be in the room and 6 hours later when I returned - you guessed it — NADA, NOTHING. I saw a person servicing the floor and asked her for the towels. An hour later she came back with one (1)!! Are you kidding me?
Sadly, not.
Do yourself a favor and pick the Kempinski. I wish I had. I won’t be back here, which saddens me to say because I was looking forward to a luxury experience - this fell very flat.
It’s so happy for me to come back to this magnificent hotel again for second time in the capital city of Accra where I was born in hospital not far away from where I stay in there. Hotel staff are absolutely fantastic and lovely which they are always provided me with a great hospitality. Outdoor swimming pool is a very amazing and wonderful place for me to relax greatly in my wellbeing without any stress … I love all the fabulous bar staff there is my favourite people the same as superb restaurant staff too like big family to me. Enjoy a very phenomenal view of Accra from a lovely outdoor balcony on 6th floor of hotel that’s the best place for gorgeous sundown in evening. Very appreciated for staying in a very nicer bedroom with superb bathroom and brilliant facilities - clean and fresh. This perfect location is for good distance with visiting places in everything you can find it easier. This hotel is always safer, comfortable and more relaxed. Honestly I love this hotel so much because everyone has treated me so brilliant and wonderful.
Clean, Elegant. Great shopping great shopping with competitive pricing like the craft market, but no bargaining and hassling.
The customer service is outstanding room so very comfortable, something is always going on outside beautiful decorations for Christmas, staff is congenial and willing to help Bell Hop Service 24 hours per day. and just a wonderful hotel Movenpick in Accra. Great value for the money.
Wonderful experience, very caring hands on staff after an initial mishap at check-in. Thank you to the wonderful intervention by Richard at the Reception with the support of Agnes, they resolved a situation where I almost wanted to leave due to a problem with the room. Then shout out to the wonderful Ophelia and Ernest at the Executive Lounge who anticipated my needs and knew exactly how I liked my coffee. And to all the rest of the staff who made our stay memorable. The food was also fantastic except there should be a special order of fufu in advance:-)
Excellent ! 5 star accommodations. Once arriving at Kotoka Airport the hotel shuttle picked us up. Served bottle water and warm towels. Upon arriving at the hotel reception, again drinks were provided along with warm towels. Great customer service private butler, presidential suite with a pool view. Great time at the pool with more drinks and foods. Phoenix restaurants was a pleasant delight 😊
Beautiful hotel, nice room and amenities. The pool and spa were extra added treats. Staff were friendly and professional. The artwork in the hotel was amazing. The only thing that I would suggest is that they shampoo or steam the carpet on the room floors. It takes away from the beautiful artwork.
The restaurant and bar were very nice also. The live music in the bar area was a plus too.

Amazing stay, Landry services , reception first experience, swimming pool is exotic and rooms and cushion just amazing and they gave amazing breakfast amazing live band and amazing bar corner for late brb 9am to midnight.
Disappointing.
Plusses: very nice breakfast, nice big pool, staff very friendly.
Minuses: elevators weren’t working properly throughout our stay and, concerningly, there were no stairs. So significant inconvenience.
Very weak WiFi.
Very little soundproofing between rooms and with corridor.
The staff was friendly and courteous . Food and service was excellent .
The view from my room was beautiful. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again the next time I'm in Accra.
Very neat and clean space. Food is delicious and the Emporium space is just useful and lovely. Let me tell about the staff: well the most warm and welcoming I ever met. Then there MOSES, the Guests Manager. What a guy. Always making sure you spend the best days of your life. Things to improve? Well, I think you should open the windows during the daily clean-up to avoid rooms to be a bit moldy.
The service was exceptional. The interaction with all members of staff was wonderful. They were professional, knowledgeable, and attentive which made the stay at Movenpick great. The amenities, such as the pool and restaurant were so inviting. It was a wonderful stay and I would definitely be visiting again.
Beautiful hotel, in the perfect location. Hotel Staff was friendly and more than helpful. They made my Spiritual Journey to the Motherland a true Welcome Home.

The property did not reach my standards as a five star hotel. I have stayed at better hotels with a lesser rating.
It’s very nice in every aspect.
Absolutely lovely staff. The beds, pillows and linen are super comfy. Amazing breakfast buffet. The food in the pool side bar and inside bar could be improved. And the windows of the building could be cleaned.
Very poor customer service. I arrived at 23.00 to check in and this is when the staff at reception conveniently informed me that they had no room available for me. Their excuse which was obviously untrue was an alleged air conditioning leak in the room that was supposedly assigned to me and the fact that they were fully booked. Their “offer” was for me to check in at their “sister hotel” for the night (which is not even half of their room rate) and check back in the following day. They had so many hours to inform me or my travel agent about the “changes” but opted not to…yet another sign of their dishonesty! It was their body language that gave me a pause for concern and created the impression that this is something that they regularly do to clients.
The staff was amazing! Very personable and happy to assist. Isaac and Moses were the absolute best! We enjoyed our stay here.
Chef Vivian and Joshua make the best omelettes around and are so friendly. Super warm welcome and are amazing.
