Hotellerie Saint Yves

Old world charm just footsteps away from the cathedral. The breakfast was worth purchase. The room had everything we needed with a beautiful view of the village below. We would definitely stay here again.

La chambre était très propre mais manquait un peu d'entretien : coups sur les murs, traces de dossiers de chaises, etc.

Mit Parkplatz. Sehr nahe an der Kathedrale.

It was impossible to drive to the hotel without special instructions, which we received only after having parked some distance away and walking with our luggage to check in. After I received the special instructions and retrieved my car from the public parking lot it took a long time to get to the hotel since road construction and detours blocked the route recommended by Google maps, which I was using to navigate.

The desk clerk was away from the desk for 30 minutes or more in the morning when I was waiting to pay for breakfast and check out.

Obviously pretty basic, but super clean, safe and incredible location. Really excellent value for money. Would stay again without hesitation.

Chambre monacale, un peu triste

This hotel is in an old priory near the summit of the hill with the magnificent Chartres Cathedral. Desk was helpful with parking info, and how to exit the restricted area before dawn, so we didn't have to tackle the steep hill after the snow started.

This place is, I think, best described as a hostel for older folk. It seems to seek to preserve the rigours of its previous lives as a nunnery and seminary. My husband and I, after a rigorous pilgrimage à pied from Maintenon, were greeted by a cool but not rude greeting by the receptionist. We next went to our room on the third floor (there IS an ascenseur that was working!) and crept our way along an unlit corridor - eventually our key-card worked at our assigned room, and later we discovered some light switches. This feature, along with the shampoo dispensary accords this place a high eco-score! The room itself offered the austerities of one pillow each, and a window without a curtain, which would have let in plenty of light to rouse a reluctant nun or seminarian craving a bit more sleep. The shower was easy to use and had good pressure, but was slippery and spilled out over the floor. Beware all ye oldsters with fragile limbs! The neighbourhood was mainly quiet, but I was awoken by the “cloches” of the present age - ambulance sirens echoing over the valley that spreads out widely below the hôtelerie. Allof these discomforts would have been supportable if it had not been for the absence of WIFI outside of the 8am to 8pm corridor when we rigorous pelerins were not in our room. This was a rigour we, as a couple travelling without a leader, were not prepared to endure, and whichwe regarded as an ungenerous economy on the part of whoever now runs this place.

No parking, struggled to find the hotel, and it is all
rather “Spartan” (basic).

Amazing location, very attentive staff. Destination in its own right. Loved our stay there.

Calme et propre. Petite chambre individuelle. Mais un peu triste ! Un peu de déco intérieure ne serait pas de trop.

The hotel itself is lovely and very conveniently placed to visit the cathedral. However there are so many one way, very narrow streets, it's very difficult to find the hotel parking. You have to drive through a road bollard & get it lowered by pressing a button to ask. Nowhere is that mentioned & it definitely should be!

ottima posizione, spazi verdi e parcheggio, lenzuola non pulite e non sostituite dopo averlo richiesto, servizi minimi (non ci sono frigobar e asciugacapelli, la stanza è piccolissima, la finestra è alta e non accessibile)

Small but comfortable room. Very convenient for cathedral, restaurants and shops.
