Main Street Hotel

This is our second time staying at the Main Street Hotel, and it has become one of our favourite places to stay ever. Every detail has been thought about and we think it is just perfect. Elodie is a charming host and made sure we had everything we could need for our stay. The rooms are gorgeous. Each one has its own character, but they're all beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast is amazing. There is a huge selection of fresh breads, pastries, meats, pate & cheeses as well as a fresh fruit salad to have with cereal, yoghurt or rice pudding. If you can still fit it in, there is a lovely selection of cooked breakfast choices.
The hotel location is very easy to get to, and only a short walk from the main square. Ypres is a beautiful town and we look forward to visiting again, in no small part because we will get to stay in this hotel!

Main Street is an excellent example of how a small upmarket hotel should operate. Individual care, very friendly, and nothing is any trouble. I would have no hesitation in telling friends to use this hotel on their way through Belgium.
Ypres is a great town to visit and a quite short journey from either Calais or Dunkerque. The Menin gate evening service is a great focal point for the day. This was my third visit to the hotel and Ypres and I hope to be back again.

Main Street Hotel was exceptional in every way. The hotel's operator / hostess, Elodie, was a marvelous! She was extremely welcoming and helpful in helping us schedule our activities and even booked our dinner at an exceptional restaurant, just a short walk away from the hotel. The hotel has a welcoming front room / sitting area to enjoy a game of chess, relax with a book, or enjoy a cocktail. Elodie offered us a welcome cocktail and provided an tour of the establishment, which included an honor refrigerator / bar with chilled wine, champagne, and a brilliant selection of Belgian beers. We requested the two single room, and too was exceptional - large, with plenty of room for our bags and to move around; the bed were actually separate single beds; the en suite bathroom was also large and nicely appointed with a large sink, large shower with a rainfall shower, and high end towels. Breakfast was another area that far exceeded our expectations. Elodie put out a full continental breakfast spread with everything you could ask for - a variety of meats, cheeses, cold cereals, yogurts with multiple toppings, fresh fruit juices, milks, etc. - along with preparing to order just about any hot breakfast dish you may want. There was public, on street parking just across from the hotel that was only 2-eruo/day and always had multiple spaces available. Elodie made us feel at home and we were saddened that we didn't stay longer. We will definitely return on our next trip to Ypres.
