Great welcome, friendlyness and helpfulness of staff. Small Hotel with cosy and individual ambiance.
Room is nothing like the pictures though spacious, dirty carpet
Sorry excuse for breakfast no buffet, 1000 ARD ride each way to city center
Can not provide an iron in the room
We stayed for 6 nights. The staff could not have been nicer. The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable,it was clean, it was quiet and not too far from the sights. Price was very reasonable.
Close to railway and metro station which is convenient for peaople who travel by train. The hotel itself is nice and the staff is welcoming and helpfull. Evenings the hot water was running out. In the mornings it was difficult to find a place for breakfast in the reastaurant (4 tables only) as the weather was not good for having a breakfast in the yard.
Lovely room and helpful staff. I was overwhelmed by their friendliness.
My husband stayed there and the best thing we are surprizes it was repersentetive and how great they are . from here I send my appriciation massage to Ms. Nvard she is awsome.
Ms.Ann & Ms.Artine....and all staff I don't know thier name but they are amazing peopel.Thank you ladies for all your help.
We stayed two days at this wonderful hotel. The price attracted us - with a junior suite being less than half the price of other 'standard' hotel rooms in Yerevan. However, this was a case of getting more than you paid for - and a pleasant surprise. The servic, especially from the receptionist (Alpine) who checked us in late was great. The room and breakfast was very good. The only downside was that the main bedroom needed a blackout curtain and more heating. Location was 5 mins away from the main train station and two metro stops from the centre.
From the Check In to my complete stay, everything was perfect. The receptionist, rooms cleanliness and specially the hotel manager she was very helpful during my stay.
I really enjoyed the restaurant service and the waiters who were serving the food.
I highly recommend this hotel and would love come back during my next visit
The Areg is not a plastic pseudo western style hotel, if you are in search of such stay elsewhere. If you want to enjoy real Armenian hospitality this is the place to find it. Clean rooms, various sizes to suit all requirements coupled with the help and assistance that is on offer from the family team that run the Hotel. Breakfast is very Armenian that said a simple request for fried eggs, omelette is always answered in the affirmative. A true value hotel !
i booked the hotel early morning. when i arrived (few taxi driver did not knew where the hotel is located ) the clerk told me she was sorry but there was a mistake and they can not provide me with a room(they tried to called me but my phone was closed). she ordered a room for me in a nearby hotel .afterwards she accept the fact that i did not want to spend the next night in the hotel.
Friendly and helpful people run this hotel. It's a 10-minute walk from the subway and train station, but you get a nice big room for very reasonable rates. I would stay there again.
People who working here are nice but the hotel is not very interesting.
Surrounding neighbourhood old, in need of repair. Long distance from centre of City for restaurants and entertainment.. Beds are narrow, single, uncomfortable with minimal linen. Building not user friendly especially if you have health problems, no lift to our room and very steep stairs to negotiate with luggage and no porter assistance. Breakfast was plain spaghetti noodles and small spring roll. We left after one night.
Nice small hotel in old Yerevan neighborhood. Friendly and helpful owners and workers. Not your average chain or luxury hotel. Loved the neighborhood where you could see real people and how they live. Nice breakfasts that we couldn't finish. Had a very nice stay and would recommend it.
The hotel was very convenient to the train station, less than a 7 minute walk. They let me check in to my room at 7:30 AM after the overnight train from Tbilisi. A taxi to the center of town is only 600 DRAM. The only drawback is that breakfast was not available until 9 AM so I never got it since all of my tours started at 8:30 AM.
The Areg did not disappoint. Do not expect the plastic luxury of a typical western hotel chain instead expect a local family run small hotel that may lack some facilities but it is made up for by the helpful and charming staff. If you do not have private transport you are mere minutes from the metro and a short walk from the railway station. The rooms all with en suite (showers) are spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. As a westerner from the Uk this value for money hotel provides all one will need on a visit to Yerevan. During my stay my bathroom suffered a leak, my possessions were moved to another room with all my belongings neatly transferred to another room and laid out exactly as I had left them. Breakfast is maybe a little basic but it is Armenian although I would imagine we're one to ask for a fried egg your request would be granted. The hotel offers free wifi and a good laundry service again in house.
This was a little nice hotel, near the metro station Sasuntsi Davit, 2 metro stops to the main square. It doesn't look like the central modern hotels, but very nice place with all comfort . seemed like a family run , with nice staff . the room I got was new with a private bathroom. the bad point was that the location on the google map was wrong , it was a little hard to find.
Not recommended at all Cons: bad location, no hair dryer, did not renew shampoo/soap, coarse towel, breakfast was not enough, no billiard table as promised, no toothbrush, Pros: family run, good Marmalade in breakfast, Airconditioning rooms
Terrible hotel, no water no light dirty service is terrible old furniture
