Great view, good parking lovely food albeit expensive.
Pros:

Great Spa hotel very different and well located on the hills above the Rhine. The hotel has traditional type rooms that are comfortable and as long as you book a top room in the Villas offer great views of the Rhine with balcony etc. Minimal cable TV however which was disappointing at this end of the market. Breakfast is superb but busy with a large selection of food and drinks and again with a fab view over the river. Dinner was of a high standard, pricey.... but well cooked and tasty. Buy local wine rather than the extensive list from the cellar as its bonkers over priced. The Spa is well equipped with a small pool, weights area and sauna etc. Lovely traditional building next to the castle and there is plenty of parking etc. Staff were efficient and helpful. We liked it a lot but it might not be for everyone's taste.

Cons:

The local town is dead and buried this time of year. I expect busy in the summer but its a fair walk dowe and then back up a long hill the the hotel. Not an issue as such as long as you are aware of it before hand. One small supermarket thats out of the 50's and literally nothing else open apart from one hotel. Luckily the hotel does serve breakfast and dinner but if you wanted something cheap and cheerful you'd be better to bring some food with you. The bathroom was a little dated with a "suicide window" and shower that was very poorly designed and swamped the floor if you didnt close it quite right! Minor point but useful to know, as is if you were less than mobile you would struggle to get around the hotel as there's a million stairs and steps. Again check your room and location before you go.

A beautiful place with a very special atmosphere
Pros:

We stayed at Hotel Schloss Rheinfels for four nights, in the Villa, in a room with a balcony overlooking the Rhine. And honestly, this was one of the highlights of our trip!
The room had everything we needed and was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast comes with a fantastic view, the service was excellent, and I really loved the restaurant interior. The breakfast selection doesn’t really change from day to day, but there are always several options to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious.
There is plenty of parking available on the hotel grounds, which is very convenient if you are travelling by car. The hotel also has a SPA area with a swimming pool which stays open until late in the evening.
And then there is the absolute highlight: a 13th-century castle just across the courtyard! The whole concept of the hotel is wonderful and very well executed. If you are travelling by car and have never stayed in a real medieval castle before, this is your very real chance to do it!

Cons:

There was just couple of small disappointments. The floor-to-ceiling window in the bathroom was not fully covered, so it was actually quite easy to see inside from outside. A little strange, although we decided not to worry too much about it.
The fitness room has a very original medieval dungeon-inspired design, although it was a little disappointing that there was no treadmill.
We were also disappointed that the castle itself was closed for renovation during our stay, so unfortunately we couldn’t visit it. Perhaps I missed this information somewhere, but it would be great if the hotel could mention something like this clearly when confirming the booking. It wouldn’t have changed our decision to stay here, but it would have helped us manage our expectations.

Pros:

Aussicht atemberaubend und das Personal war sehr nett. Wer nur die Aussicht geniesen will und nur mal kurz Schwimmen oder in die Sauna will.

Cons:

Frühstück leider nicht so umfanfreich wie man es bei diesem Niveau erwartet. Gute Käse/Wurst Auswahl und viel frisches Obst, aber leider bei denen deftigen Speisen (Bohnen, Speck) etws mau, genauso bei den süßen Sachen (Pancakes, Waffeln).
Saunalandschaft leider überhaupt nicht optimal. Eine Sauna sehr warm echt klasse, Dampfsauna erst nach anschalten, was ich vollkommen ok finde, danach sehr schöne Dampfsauna. Panoramasauna leider viel zu kalt und entweder Musik kaputt oder Aufguss kaputt. Aber am entäuschends fand ich die lange Strecke zu den Liegen zum ausruhen. Nach der sauna eigentlich keine Liegen zumausruhen und wenn man sich draussen hinsetzt sitzt man auf dem Präsentierteller und teilweise werden angezogene Hotelgäste mit Gepäck am Saunabereich entlanggeführt. Entspannt abkühlen ist da etwas schlecht.
Beim Abendessen sind manche Speisen echt sehr gut (Damwildnüsschen), andere eher Mittelmass.
