Disappointing Castle stay on the Rhine River Sankt Goar

It’s beautiful and has a great view of the Rhine River.

Cons:

The amenities which are few. The have a tavern that has an amazing deck with beautiful views, yet it closes at 4 in the afternoon. So if you’d like to have a drink and sit outside, too bad, there are no options but to go to the restaurant which is quite pricey or go to town. The restaurant was such a disappointment, I had dinner my first night there , by reservation only. I ordered duck breast with tagliatelle. The duck was tough, the skin not crisp, I was served over cooked linguine pasta, with nothing in it. The waiter asked me why I wasn’t eating, I told him what was going on, no offer to replace he meal or even a refund. It was 35 euros, I can’t imagine that happening in a fine dining restaurant. The breakfast buffet is ok, but service is not great. It was truly disappointing, especially since I have stayed before and always had a great experience.

War trotzdem ein schöner Aufenthalt.

Toller Ausblick vom Restaurant, gutes Frühstück und sehr gutes Abendessen

Cons:

Die Ausstattung war doch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Außerdem hatten wir einen heißen Tag erwischt und das Zimmer war sehr aufgeheizt. Leider keine Klimaanlage vorhanden und das Schlafen in der Wärme schwierig. Das Duschen in der Badewanne etwas mühsam.

Eine Zumutung in herlicher Lage

Das Hotel bietet eine der schönsten Lagen Deutschlands: Einen herrlichen Blick auf den Rhein.

Cons:

Die Küche des Hotels ist eine Schande für ein so schön gelegenes Haus von der Kategorie ****S. Bei dem Viergangmenü erfüllte nur das Dessert die Erwartungen. Die voraussgehenden Gerichte wiesen Kochfehler (angebrannt; wässrige Bouillon) auf oder waren sichtlich aus billiger Tiefkühlware wenig schmackhaft zusammengestellt.
Die Matratze war von schlechter Qualität und durchgelegen. Der Chlorgeruch des Wellnesstraktes durchströmte die Flure und war auch noch in den Zimmern feststellbar.

Eine wunderschöne gepflegte Burg, tolles Restaurant, faszinierendes Museum und vor allem extrem liebenswürdiges Personal dessen Begeisterung und Liebe für die Burg und ihren Job auf die Gäste überspringt.

Cons:

Das Essen im Puricelli war grandios, aber Preis-Leistung nicht bei allen Gerichte verhältnismässig (5 Gnocchi 2 EL Spinat 1 Kräuterseitling auf Tomatenschaum für 30 Euro ist zu viel! Auch wenn es exzellent geschmeckt hat)

Super schön
Pros:

Ich fand das Personal äußerst nett. Aber wirklich allesamt. Ich fühlte mich als Otto-Normal-Verbraucher zwischen der Highsociety mehr als nur willkommen. Danke dafür. Da traut man sich auch Hotels zu besuchen, die man vielleicht nicht jedes Jahr besucht.

Cons:

Die Klorollenhalter. Scheint aber ein persönliches Problem von mir zu sein. Die Rollen liegen lose in den Schalen und jedesmal wenn ich duschen war und das Handtuch um mich geschlungen habe, kickte ich mit dem Handtuch die Rolle auf den Boden. Glaube aber, damit kann man leben ;)

Ich buche auf jeden Fall wieder. Super Ausgangspunkt.

Die Begrüßungen hat mich umgehauen, die angestellten waren immer hervorragend und haben alles getan, um ein unvergessliches Erlebnis zu gewährleisten. Ein sagenhaftes Frühstücksbuffet , abends ein feines Abendessen mit hervorragenden Service.

Beautiful stay in a castle although need a car to make life easier
Pros:

Location was beautiful! Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding and our waitress was very good with a wonderful sense of humour made to feel at home

Cons:

Very hard to get to location without a car. We had to wait over an hour for a bus to take us up the hill with our luggage. They definitely need a courtesy bus. No fans or aircon so made for a very hot night

Wunderschöne Lage oben vom Rhein!

Die Lage ist wunderschön…außergewöhnlich! Den Pool haben wir auch genutzt, sehr angenehm.

Cons:

Hätte gern einen Wasserkocher im Zimmer gehabt.

Bonita experiência
Pros:

Muito bonito e com bom pequeno almoço. Ginásio muito engraçado. Excelente para relaxar.

Cons:

O hotel tem elevador e levamos uma mala grande e eu estava grávida, o funcionário nem se prontificou a levar a mala nem mostrou que havia elevador - tivemos de subir de escadas super carregados. No pequeno almoço também não foram muito simpáticos, havia uma mesa junto a janela com vista panorâmica e quiseram reservar caso viessem mais hóspedes, sendo que não veio mais ninguém. Se tomar o pequeno almoço perto do final não há reposição de nada, portanto tem de chegar cedo.
