Not able to stay with my dog
Hotel was nice only negative was the bed was uncomfortable.
Dinner was delicious and the staff were amazing only negative reserved a time for 8pm but had to wait for 35 mins for a table
Spa was brilliant, relaxing and loved that there was no children from 4pm
Overall would definitely revisit
Lovely room with a small balcony that overlooked the canal so we could watch boats travelling up and down! Great to be able to use the pool and spa facilities and the staff were wonderfully helpful. Couldn't fault our stay!
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Special mention for the lady on reception and the spa staff who helped us with some minor issues and made us feel very welcome.
The restaurant area and the food we ate (breakfast in the morning and tapas lunch at the spa) were excellent. When fully operational the spa and leisure club is a great place to relax and enjoy some 'me time'.
Not the fault of the staff or the management, but the roof of the spa/leisure facilities had leaked during renovation work meaning that some facilities were not available.
Something that is in the gift of the management- the outside areas looked and felt rather run down (uneven paving, overgrown shrubs, poor signage). It all felt a bit neglected.
We had a room overlooking the canal. That was great
The bathroom is small. The fan never turned off untill 22. 30.
Nice room, quiet inside with canal view. Very good food for breakfast and evening meal. Excellent gym. Wildlife on site.
Traffic noise from A5 in outdoor areas by the canal. Signage to car parks on arrival could be improved, as you come to the spa building and car park first, not knowing the hotel is further on and not in the same building.
That you could use cash at the bar
Very pretty setting, the staff were really
Lovely
Jack our server in the restaurant was really
Fun and interacted with us on both nights
Dans deserts were delicious -
The Barman Henry also was very Knowledgeable.
Everyone made us feel welcome
Very dated and our bed was very uncomfortable
Bar flies around the bar and breakfast area
Could use a fly machine to discourage this from continuing.
Spa - no where on the website did it state that there was building works going on at the spa
WiFi needs upgrading - no signal and extremely slow
Everything was great
Nothing
Pool and breakfast
Rooms needed updating/ carpets but fine for a weekend stay
Staff, restaurant, breakfast/dinner good.
We were given an accessible room which wasn’t booked/requested so had a less functional bathroom (eg very high toilet, very low sink, completely open shower resulting in water everywhere plus a shower wheelchair in the room - bathroom vents visibly very dusty, no hair dryer in room (but was provided when requested). Additional bed provided was very hard/uncomfortable. Room functional - we only stayed one night so didn’t consider necessary to raise an issue.
Good location for Oswestry. The hotel itself was okay, a little dated and looking tired in some areas. Our room was fairly clean, a lot of dust accumulated around the edges of the room and around the bedside plugs. The room had two windows - one with a set of curtains and the other without, only a blind. This was a pain at 4:30 when the room was too light due to the morning sun! Weird to have one set of curtains, but not both?? The spa facilities are included, although the sauna was out of order, we still enjoyed the other facilities. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the Waterside restaurant and it was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful, definitely the best part of the accommodation.
Dusty room, lack of curtains on the one window. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
