We really enjoyed the location, but most of all we enjoyed the customer service the warm welcome we receive at check-in. Ms Saran was a very pleasant person. Best customer service. The nightclub on top of the rooftop was excellent did not close until 4 AM. Great music great atmosphere.
The only thing I did not like was that you had to pay additional cost to use the pool chair after a certain time overall, you were still able to use the pool you just had to sit on the side of the pool once they changed the time
Staff and hotel appearances and pool
The decor and ambience was beautiful and energetic. Perfect location near great food and entertainment. If you don’t like to see people having a good time, this isn’t the place for you. The music from the pool can be heard throughout the day & from the club at night. We were on floor 10 & still slept peacefully, The rooms were small as expected in NYC but actually a tad bigger than I had imagined. The bathroom was spacious with shower room for 2. Initially our room didn’t have working A/C. It took about 45 minutes for someone to come check, but after it was determined we needed a new room, the staff was helpful in accommodating our moving as we had dinner reservations. Regarding the staff, everyone onsite was friendly, professional and very helpful. The text line was helpful as well. We’ve stayed at many NYC hotels and this was one of the best. We’ll definitely be back!
Only subtracted 1 point for response time to A/C issue.
Beautiful aesthetics, very nice hotel with a great rooftop pool, sushi is amazing, I might add. The location is also perfect with clubs nearby and a local market to hang out.
The location, rooms and customer service
The location was fantastic. We loved exploring Chelsea and the meat packing district. The hotel is right by the subway and the high line which we loved.
We didn’t realise kids couldn’t use the pool other than between 8 and 10am. That was a bit annoying.
⭐☆☆☆☆
I would not recommend staying at Dream Downtown. The hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. The rooms are outdated and not nearly as nice as the photos make them appear. The pool is very small, crowded, and not well maintained.
The biggest issue was the noise. There is a nightclub in the building that stays open until around 4:00 a.m., and the loud music and banging could be heard from the room all night. It was so bad that the hotel actually keeps earplugs available for guests.
We also had random people knocking on our door, which made us feel uncomfortable and disrupted our stay. To make matters worse, there is no easy way to reach a real person for help. When calling the front desk, you’re routed through an AI system instead of getting immediate assistance from hotel staff.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience and nowhere near worth the price. There are many better hotels in New York City for the same money. I would not stay here again.
l'architecture est exceptionnelle, il ya du confort, le Rooftop est dingue!
rien
I liked the area, especially its proximity to Chelsea Market and the waterfront.
Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing.
On the first day, the pool was not working. The pool also has to be booked in advance, gets very crowded, and is not convenient with a child because children’s hours are limited.
The next morning, we were not provided with the breakfast we had already paid for. At the café, we were told that the system was not working and that we would either have to pay again or come back the next day for a free breakfast:))))
It turned out that the café is not operated by Hyatt, but only cooperates with the hotel for breakfast. However, since breakfast was included in our booking, the hotel should have offered a proper solution.
Reception staff tried to speak with the café, but after the café refused, they just went back to their computers and did not offer any alternative, voucher, refund, or solution. It felt like they simply ignored the problem. Just staring to computer…..
As a result, we had to leave and have breakfast elsewhere, despite already paying for it.
For a hotel of this level, this kind of service is unacceptable.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The nightclub stays open until 4:00 AM, and you can hear the bass and banging music throughout the night. The noise issue is so common that the hotel keeps earplugs available at the front desk for guests.
During my stay, there were also random people knocking on my door late at night, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.
The pool is very small, overcrowded, and not particularly clean. The rooms themselves are outdated and far less impressive than the photos suggest.
Overall, this hotel is extremely overpriced for what it offers. Between the noise, lackluster rooms, and disappointing amenities, it was not a good experience and I would not stay here again.
Suite experience that opens to pool is a top tier experience room was sexy, huge, and perfect location! We were very happy
The pool is free for hotel guests however you must pay for lounge chairs. The food and drinks are awesome, as I expect them to be because this is run by the hospitality group that owns Tao Beach Club. The DJ was not that fun vibe. I asked for Dreamlover by Mariah Carey, he never played it. The music without the DJ on Monday was much more fun vibe friendly. This was PRIDE weekend, they should e had a fun DJ that knew the crowd. Also we had a poolside hotel room which should’ve been unlocked at 8am, they did not unlock till about 9am.
There was a funny fish smell Day 1 in the lobby of the tall tower, the GM was confirmed and it was gone Day 2, so they are on it. Room has a fantastic shower, beds and sheets were comfortable and the following staff were very helpful, Latrell and JaQuan.
The staff member that checked all of my friends in did not give us the drink vouchers that came with the guest fee. For-two of the rooms he did not give us waters. Also one room was poolside. Those rooms get locked out of pool at 6pm but should open at 8am. It was nearly 9 before it was unlocked.
Despite all of these small hiccups we are booking for next year and hopefully the changes that need to take place…will! Hoping to write a 5 Star Review next June 2027!
Good location, nice small balcony
Staff are clueless and disinterested. Room doesn't get cleaned unless you go down to reception and ask every day. Leavi g the "clean my room" light on does nothing. There is really not a pool as advertised, the pool belongs to a private club and is only available to hotel guests from 8am to 10:30am. After that, guests can enter the area and swim in the pool but are not allowed on the lounges, so you literally have to lie on the concrete. And then at 6pm it's closed completely. Room is very very small and lighting system as others have commented is incomprehensible. Bare concrete floors and a metal prison like sink. Incredibly overpriced.
We stayed at this hotel last week. The location is great but The hotel advertises that it has a pool, which was one of the main reasons I booked it for my family. Unfortunately, we only found out after arriving that children are restricted to using the pool from 8:00–10:00 a.m. The rest of the day, it is essentially an adults-only pool.
For families traveling with young children—especially those adjusting to jet lag—those hours are impractical. This important restriction should be clearly disclosed during booking rather than simply advertising that the hotel has a pool. It felt misleading and affected our experience.
What was an absolute nightmare of a B-day trip, The staff here is an absolute DREAM. I went through a very traumatic personal expierence while in NYC that ended up with my filing a police report against my now ex-boyfriend. It was a horrible and scary situation but the staff here made my safety a priority! They helped me navigate one of the worst experiences of my life and kept me safe. For these kind acts I will be forever grateful!! Front desk manager Sierra and Sayed made sure I felt safe and cared for. They went above and beyond for me. Also Charlie and Jaquan at the front desk were the best of the best. My gratitude is impossible to measure but I want to be sure to say this is NYCs best hotel! The rooms were gorgeous, comfortable and clean. The staff is the best of the best and the location is incredible.
La situation géographique en plein centre de Meatpacking.
La tranquillité.
Le lit double trop mou. Le petit déjeuner.
Good Location and good rooms. Staff very nice. Good swimming pool. Only the noise from the street in some rooms is bad. And in the breakfast the girl didn’t now how to make the eggs and they went to the kitchen 3 times.
