Lovely and quiet with the and evening meal option if required
I thought the rooms were a little cold and the mattresses need updating
Visit often for a meal
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property
The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Food was great, nice choice and good value. Dining area and bar were comfortable and had a nice atmosphere.
The bed in the family room was very uncomfortable.
Lovely atmosphere
It wasn't 5 star accommodation by any means but the standard single room was much! larger than expected and the bed was comfortable. Everything needed for our two nights passing through stay was in the room. Breakfast was great. The menu looked great too. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Downstairs was cosy and a charming area. The garden borders on a sheep farm at the back. Beautiful and relaxing setting. The portable heater came in very useful. Nice view from the window.
The building is obviously older and windows will need replacing. Icy air came in and plenty water to dry off the windows in the morning. My dog struggles with damp so there was a fair amount of coughing. Noise from neighbours opening and shutting doors but an enjoyable stay overall. As I say, the heating was ample and towels placed at the bottom of the window frame took care of most of the air coming in. The room was large enough to distance ourselves from the window.
The Hotel was beautiful. Great for a solo traveller and their dog. The food and drink at the restaurant was amazing and the service was lovely. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I loved my stay. They also had a little green where I could walk the dog which was great!
Location is next to a road which means you can hear some of the traffic’s if your room faces the road.
very good size of room
nothing comes to mind
Le restaurant
Le rangement. La propreté.
Un seul savon et pas de gel douche.
Indiquer qu'on peut demander un sèche cheveux à l'accueil.
While The Stair Arms is about 25 minutes outside of the city center, we loved our stay here. It was a great location, nice and quiet in the Scottish countryside. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very kind and hospitable. We had a problem with our shower drain and it was taken care of the same day we reported it. We booked the Deluxe King Room and the clawfoot tub was just lovely!
Nowhere to sit and relax as the only small bar area was taken over by a wedding party so took a drink up to my room.
The staff was amazing. They went out of there way to help. The food was amazing.
Staff very friendly
Did not like the stairs and the fact we had a long way to walk to our room at the back of the hotel. This is not a hotel for the elderly or those with impaired mibility
Personnel très gentils et à l'écoute malgré mon anglais très moyen !
Petit déjeuné très correcte
Possibilité de dîner au restaurant très bon rapport qualité prix
Chien accepté
That it was close to Edinburgh
The sheets didn’t seem clean, it was noisy and it was pretty strange you guys allowing dogs to stay in rooms, plus the price was way too expensive for what kind of a hotel this was … I mean there was mould in the bathroom
