Lovely staff good food just needs a deep clean.
Pros:

The breakfast was nice very tasty and perfect way to start the day. The staff were all lovely. Our shower head was broken on our first morning there i informed reception on our way out for the day when we returned it had been replaced. The beds were comfortable.

Cons:

The cleanliness. The room had a funny smell to it. The walls and doors were grubby. The bathroom could do with a deep clean. They water pressure is poor I struggled to rinse my hair properly. Theres no hooks to hang your towels on. The floors needed a good clean too. The duvets were very thin.

Satisfactory for an overnight stay.
Pros:

It was in the countryside, lots of parking

Cons:

Access to the reception desk was made unnecessarily difficult. Exposed power shower in bathroom. Looked like it was designed for 'in wall' fitting. No hot water at the sink, no matter how long I left the tap running.
Mattress was not very comfortable.

Lovely room
Pros:

Did not get breakfast once. Contacted the hotel, was told breakfast is 8am but somebody there at 7.45am (expected for workers really) Went down the next day, still nobody about at 8am. 3rd day went down, girl took 2 tables orders ignored my husband, went into the kitchen but didn't come back, waited 5 mins, ended leaving as had to get to work. last 2 days still no breakfast as staff not there to take orders and serve it before customers go to work.
Disappointing as booked because breakfast was included ( maybe from 8.30am you'd get one!!)

Cons:

As above and outside the hotel, pitch black, no lighting if coming in after dark. Not good if you can't see what your walking on and not good if alone.

Would stay again, but make sure you check in before 17:30 to be sure you can eat there
Pros:

Friendly staff and quiet location, just south of Edinburgh . Good sized clean rooms.

Cons:

Be advised that last orders are at 19:45 if you want to eat in the restaurant, arrived to check in at 20:05 and was told no one in kitchen. Friendly enough staff, said there is a pizza/fish and chip shop in the village but …
