0 out of 10. A terrible experience
Pros:

Made a mistake of booking for an incorrect date. Were plenty of rooms available to do a straight forward swap though hotel manager would not shift and said if i wanted to stay would need to pay an additional premium room rate and loose the cost of room i had already paid for. The room was dirty, smelly and on pulling back the bed sheets in the morning found stains, pubic and long hairs. Also kept up all night by guests in rooms next door and above. A ghastly experience, waste of money and terrible staff. Would not recommend whatsoever.

Avoid at all cost
Pros:

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Filthy, freezing cold, poor quality everything. It’s awful, I slept badly as I kept waking due to being so cold. I couldn’t shower as the bathroom is disgusting.

Great food & Chef
Pros:

I can fully recommend the Steak and Ale pie and the Lasagne. After meeting and speaking to the chef, a lovely lady. These meals are both home made. You can tell. Packed with meat and flavour 😋

DISGUSTING FILTHY STAY AWAY
Pros:

Filthy disgusting shocking vile stinking dirty place that needs to be closed down. I will attach photos. Hole in ceiling in corridor outside our room with soaked mouldy carpet and bucket to catch drips, old flat filthy stained towels and sheets, carpets like we have never seen before they were practically walking , we had to wash the bottoms of our slippers when we left as they were filthy , kettle filthy, toilet disgusting, basically everything old, filthy and in need of demolition. The fake wooden walls covered in dirty handprints, skirting filthy - need I go on??? We only stayed because we had travelled for almost 5 hours to see a sick relative and were too exhausted to look for somewhere else . Stayed 1 night and that was 1 too many. Didn’t even bother to look at breakfast can only imagine what it was like. Also no green light showing the exit from room and the fire escape plan had the wrong number for our room . And there’s an infant school next door which the rooms along our side looked directly into classrooms. Terrifying. Seriously STAY AWAY GO ANYWHERE ELSE INSTEAD

Lovely stay
Pros:

Stayed here when visiting the WWT Welney, the staff are really helpful when making the booking we had to make a last-minute change to add an additional person to our group and they were happy to change from a twin to a family. The family room we got was very modern clean spacious it had a huge accessible bathroom with a walk-in shower because we explained one of our party was elderly and not able to get into a bath so they made sure we had that shower the room was lovely. It had three separate single beds with different firmness of mattresses so we could choose which one suited which person best there was a balcony which was nice but not much use in December. I imagine that would be lovely in the summer though the hotel itself is large and based in the centre of town with free parking restaurant and bar. the breakfast had plenty of options to choose from the hotel itself, Some areas could be called a little bit dated but they’re dated in a retro charming way and our room itself was extremely modern and very comfortable. The room was on the first floor with a lift so no issues with step free access . So for value location, helpful staff and amenities I will definitely go back to this hotel and would recommend it.

Tired , old , dirty , 1 star hotel
Pros:

Hotel is old , tired and has dirty facilities. The room is ok , mattress is old and lumpy. Tv is fixed on wall mount in a place not ideal. THE shower was not fit to use floor and drain area was rotten . Breakfast was very limited and dehydrated from being left in warming servers. Atmosphere is tired , unloved , not popular with visitors and on leaving staff looked like they were not particularly bothered. I raised issue with them showed photos taken they blamed housekeeping and proceeded to charge for the rubbish breakfast.

Pros:

Good comfy bed, shower was powerful

Cons:

Arrived and was told that another couple added Arrived with the same surname, and that they wasn't sure if we was entitled to the breakfast ( it was included in my price)
Their was a strange scratching noise in our room that would come and go and also what seemed to be like a generator sound.

Value for money
Pros:

Super convenient location, loads of places to eat & drink within walking distance.
Free onsite parking & plenty of it. Really big room and bathroom. Excellent value for money. Very clean.

Cons:

The room was really clean but the carpet was quite old & tired which gave the first impression of the room being unclean. Carpet needs replacing or a really good shampoo.
Quality of the cooked breakfast items were a bit basic but not unpleasant.
