As some have noted, this is an older hotel. However, do not let that discourage you from staying here. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but functional. The room’s amenities cover the basics. I must note that housekeeping keeps these rooms immaculate! You could eat off our floor. The restaurant serves really good food and decent drinks. We ended up eating dinner there a couple of nights. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is very convenient. While not a “luxury” property, it has got it where it counts. I would stay here again.
Excellent location right in the heart of the old town, close to restaurants and bars. Can be a bit noisy depending on where your room is. The room and a bathroom were OK but a bit dated.
Hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel is very charm capturing the essence of the city of Campeche
Breakfast was great, hotel outdated
We travel to Campeche approximately once a year and have been staying at the Hotel Plaza Campeche for several years. We have always been impressed with the hotel (cleanliness and service), but this year I would say was the best service we've experienced so far. All the employees are on the lookout for anything that may need fixing and promptly attend to it (for example, a loose panel on the ceiling). The room service menu was limited, but the restaurant dining was outstanding in terms of quality and service.
Heavily tucked beds with blanket in hot weather
The service at the hotel was excellent, with courteous and friendly staff. The location was also very convenient—within walking distance to the city center.
This hotel was the best out of the 5 we stayed at while circling the Yucatan via Tren Maya. Friendly and helpful staff. We will stay at this hotel again.
From the outside, I liked this place. It had a colonial feel, even if the building is not that old. Inside, the lobby was small, as it shared most of the room with the restaurant. The resto took up a good 3/4 of the space, with just some moveable wooden screens to separate it from the check-in area. The hallways were rather dull with faded paint, too.
The rooms have that similar feel of outdated elegance. Our room was on the smaller side, with bare floors and no carpeting. Walls were basic white without much in the way of decoration, too. The bed was ok. It just feels like they need to update the interior completely. It'd say for the price we paid it was a decent value.
On the positive side, they have a stunning little pool just off the lobby. They also have a perfect location for exploring old Campeche on foot. It's about a 6 minute walk to the main plaza. And the people working the front desk and the doormen were incredibly friendly. Always smiling, and quite good with their recommendations.

Excelente opción y servicio
Hotel muy bonito, baños y habitaciones muy limpias. El staff muy amable
Lots of noise, traffic- people - alarms; staff, front desk was friendly but bartender was rude; area around the hotel was dingy; constant traffic; cleanliness was iffy, at first glance things seemed clean but the details weren’t attended to. Location was good, central to attractions. A fair value price wise. Hotel restaurant was ok and convenient, but the bar was terrible.
The breakfast and dinner at the cafeteria was delicious. On Sunday you can hear a piano man.
The bar is closed on Sunday.
The attention of the staff it was excellent, also the bellboy, he was very kind.
No room service or welcome drink as advertised.
Front staff very helpful and speak English.
Very good location
inside the walled city close to shopping, restaurants, and the malecon.
Super clean, excelent food easy to walk to the plaza
The Plaza Campeche is a grand and spacious hotel where everything works and is meticulously maintained. The restaurant is truly a dining room, its service and menu rivals the top restaurants in the city of Campeche.
Very staff, clean property, and great location.
Great ground-floor restaurant, superbly laid out and very elegant. Stylish on-site bar too. Service very good. Thanks to all the staff. Great location in the centre of Campeche. One of the best hotels on our tour of Mexico from Mexico City to Cancún.
The walled town of Campeche is calming and beautiful. The hotel is just on the outer edge of the city center and location-wise is good for an easy walk to the sites. Yet it has a business-like feel to it, serving lots of tourist groups, and has mediocre breakfast food and distracted waiters. Generally the services are good, but the hotel doesn't match the embracing feel of the city itself. We'd go elsewhere -- but inside the walled city -- in the future.
