not what we expected
Pros:

Parking was excellent. Beds and pillows were super. Staff were very friendly.The room was clean. Great views from the dining room.

Cons:

The shower had mould on tiles. The cushions and throw as not washed in between clients. The room was shabby and not vibrant like the photo. There were big cracks in the plaster and it was peeling off on the ceiling. The furniture, valance, blinds and curtains in wardrobe were yonks old and shabby. No lattes served at breakfast. The avocado was black and looked old. The baked beans were dried up and again looked like they were leftovers. The coffee at breakfast was not nice and had to keep asking for more coffee and more milk. The bread at breakfast was boring. No fridge in the room. The shower water and the hairdryer were cool. The room was designed for tall people and I could not reach into the safe or see in the wall mounted magnifying mirror. It was not easy getting the luggage from the car to the room up a very narrow steep staircase plus a long walk and through a very stiff door.

Very pleasant one night stay
Pros:

Bedroom with nice side view and comfortable bed, very helpful staff, plenty of storage space, efficient shower, lovely toiletries

Cons:

Sunday evening dinner was good but expensive. “Small plate” of scampi had just 2 pieces!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, would definitely return.
Pros:

Staff all very professional, helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. Room had stunning views across the surrounding countryside.

Cons:

Only slight improvement would be better signage around the hotel as we found it a bit confusing, especially when there are daytime events going on etc.

The hotel is very cute and cozy so are the rooms! Amazing views (especially in a golden hour), felt like a novel character while staying there😁 the bar staff was very helpful, got a nice food suggestion for my drink and enjoyed a lovely evening at the bar. Nice breakfast menu. Thank you for everything!

Pros:

The check in staff were good. The breakfast was good.

Cons:

We have stayed before in main building and been very pleased. This time we had 2 rooms in the annex ( Country House) and was a little disappointed. The rooms are in need of painting, stains on carpets and overall felt a little grubby.
I shared photos of my concerns with staff on checkout.

Lovely hotel
Pros:

Staff friendly and helpful, beautiful building and features in a lovely location. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of space to park. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy a drink.

Seems to be that if you book through booking.com they are not happy and the system doesnt work.

our request on booking.com for twin ground floor room had not been received which led to a catalogue of disappointment and inconvenience, which all the staff acknowledged and were helpful but I was made to feel it was my fault?
