Beautiful sea view and great food.
Super Hotel, great service, first class parking facilities and especially so for anyone disabled las my Wife and Myself are and first class food although the Dining Rooms themselves were rather like factory canteens with no finesse, for instance not even table cloths, not that it mattered however as the service was ultra rapid and the food itself quite THE best we have ever enjoyed away from home. ++++++++
Nice pool, good food and good location
Car park was very overcrowded and little space to move
The staff were all lovely and very friendly, we liked the pool area
people saving sunbeds and not using them for hours was very frustrating.
Our room 223 was extremely hot and it wouldn’t cool down even with fans on and the curtains shut to keep the sun out. We didn’t sleep well even though the bed was very big and comfortable
The pool is great and very kid friendly
The rooms are really hot
Stayed 3 nights — would not return or recommend.
A member of staff approached me with no professionalism, no meaningful reason, and no manners. The room was unbearably hot during the heatwave with no air conditioning — sleeping felt like being inside an oven with only a fan provided.
Most strikingly, members of the public who were not hotel guests were openly using the hotel pool without being challenged — yet a paying guest was singled out and treated without basic courtesy or respect. This is a fundamental failure of management and an unacceptable double standard.
When the complaint was raised, management showed no interest in acknowledging the guest experience. Instead, the focus was entirely on shifting the problem, defending and explaining staff behaviour, and deflecting responsibility rather than offering a genuine resolution. A birthday card and silent CCTV footage were presented as answers to a formal complaint — which is both inadequate and insulting.
Legal escalation is now being pursued. Paying guests deserve respect, accountability, and to be heard — none of which were present during my stay.
Sat at the train station writing this review after a lovely four day stay with you at the Marsham Hotel.
From start to finish the staff go above and beyond. Very welcoming always smiling and happy to help. Receptionists enjoy having a chat with you about your day and as a solo traveller this is much appreciated.
The double room 227 was spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable with a fridge, hairdryer, fan and tea/coffee. loved the digestives in the tin great idea.
Food in the hotel was reasonably priced. Great pizza.
I liked the fact this hotel is so close to Bournemouth pier/beach and a ten min walk through the gardens to the town centre.
Bus stop right outside the hotel number 70 open top bus goes at twenty past the hour taking you to Southbourne great beach and beach cafe SOBO,also goes along to Hengistbury head with outstanding views and coastal walks.
The swimming pool was heated and nice for a dip.
Tip go down early if you would like a leisurely swim.
I went in half term so packed.
I love the fact this hotel caters for all disabilities with hoists to the pool, lifts, accessible bedrooms and a sensory room.
Sea views are gorgeous on the decking.
Thank you all for a pleasant stay.
I will be returning next year
We are coming to the end of our stay at the superb marsham court hotel .and what a stay it's been .the weather has been glorious. The hotel is a cut above other Bournemouth hotels that take coaches. We travelled with Jason Edwards Travel .and everything was faultless. The rooms are spacious. All the social areas are very comfortable. The Dining room is airy and spacious and subrbley managed by Pat who is retiring this week .what a loss she will be .the breakfast is a buffet style .evening meal is table service and what lovely meals. Really well presented. Very tasty .and good sized portions. Would we come back .most definitely .jasonedwardstravel.co.uk have future dates at this magnificent hotel.
Location and staff where really nice and accommodating. Room was a good size and loved that they keep the towel warmer on in the rooms! top tier stuff. We did not need it but the hotel was very good for accessibility users. There is an older user base but to be honest there is nothing wrong with that imo
Had to line up at 8am to put your towel down to get a seat by the pool but i guess this is how it goes wherever you are in the world. If they could give priority for resident guests over guest pool users that may help but either way ill be there at 7:45am to secure the goods :)
We have been frequent guests to this hotel over the years. The hotel has really gone down hill since our last visit hence this review.
They are cutting back costs so are understaffed , cleaners are rushed and therefore our room was dirty when we checked in. No staff to monitor the outdoor pool - meaning non residents were just walking in to the pool area , using the already very limited sun loungers and being allowed to buy alcohol and consume it around the pool area whilst in there under pants and not even swim wear. Staff did not seem concerned at this and said there was nothing they could do. This hotel has really changed and does not suit older people or those with young children as it is unsafe around the pool area. Very sad to see what was such a lovely hotel fall so dramatically.
Booking . Com were great and gave us a part refund but the hotel did not even want to comment on the complaint. If you are a OAP then do not waste your money.
GENUINE REVIEW !!
We have stayed at this hotel over several years and I do not like leaving reviews however i felt it was a must so people do not waste there monies,
The hotel sell day passes for there outdoor pool !
Which means hotel guests end up sitting on the floor in the pool area,
The hotel have no one over looking the outdoor pool like they used to have which then allowed non guests who were intoxicated entering the pool area and jumping in to the pool in there underwear, which made people feel very unsafe especially those with children,
The hotel staff said they were understaffed and did not have any one to monitor the pool area,
The rooms are dated which we were used to with no aircon, they did not have adequate fans for all the rooms,
You are unable to open a window and it was unbelievably hot,
We could smell a horrible smell in our room and to our horror discovered used sanitary tampons in a bin left in the corner of the bathroom,
We notified the day manager who was very apologetic and told us that the directors would be made aware and we would receive a call,
That evening on our second night there were gangs of cars with men on drugs and roaming around the grounds, again no staff were present, we decided to leave the hotel next morning even though we were booked to stay for two more nights
We complained to booking..com whom we booked through and they told us the hotel would not comment or refund us for the two nights.
However booking.com them selves have given us reasonable compensation after seeing the photo evidence.
This hotel is not good for couples or families with young children.
The pool
The room was so hot and extremely uncomfortable due to the heatwave and the complete absence of air conditioning that felt like sleeping in an oven. More seriously, I was spoken to in a rude and unprofessional manner by a member of staff. A formal complaint has been submitted and remains unresolved.
