Do not park at the Solaris parking garage!!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The signs that point to it make it seem like it’s public parking. But it’s a total scam. The prices for the hourly parking are hidden on the way in and it’s on the way out that you find out they charge $55 for less than three hours. $55? I’ve never paid $55 for an overnight at an airport parking lot. This is ridiculous. Especially when the public parking lot that is one block over only charges two dollars an hour, or free after 3 PM during the summer!
Beware, some of the directions in Apple Maps for the public parking garage direct you to this garage. Do not park here!!
Solaris parking garage is a rip off, $65 for 3 hours of parking. Avoid and park next door at the Vail city parking garage.
Park next door where the rates are $2 per hour.
No wonder there were lots of vacant parking spots at the Solaris parking garage.
The hotel is ideally situated in Vail Village. It's a quick walk to the gondola. The lobby is smallish, there is a large restaurant below lobby. The suites are large and well equipped. There is a nice kitchen which we used mostly for breakfast. You leave your skis and boots at the base of the mountain in heated indoor lockers and your boots and gloves are warm in morning ready to go. There is a nice bakery just next to the lockers and get the pretzel. Same routine after skiing leave equipment there. The hotel I wish had a larger lobby with a bar. The restaurant is packed every night and people eat at the bar and there is no availability to just sit and have a cocktail. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, I prefer outdoor hot tub. The staff especially the valets are extremely helpful and nice. I don't know how they remember everyone's name. A great place to stay especially if you are going with a few people. Highly recommend.
This place employs very scamy business practices, avoid it. They use the signs for public parking to lure people into their predatory parking garage. $55 for a little over 2 hours. The actual public parking is a bit further down the road and is completely free. If this is how they run their parking garage, imagine how the rest of their buisress are run. This place need to be shut down.
Great to stay if you need a full kitchen and living room.

Long time parking scam in Vail. Charged $45.00 for 1 hour 15 minutes. The parking is right next to Free Vail Public Parking but the signage is not clear and by the time you pull in your in. I spoke with the parking garage manager and the hotel. Both refused to refund the charges. Check the one star reviews here many many people have been scammed over the years. Vail public parking manager indicated they have requested Solaris to clarify the signage and they have refused to do so. Nice little scam for Solaris. The Village of Vail NEEDS TO FIX THIS AS IT APPEARS SOLARIS IS NOT ETHICAL!!!
If you are here with family or friends, this place may be great. But try ordering food if you are on your own and need help recovering from surgery. About to leave early and throw away thousands of dollars because NOTHING regarding food deliver is actually accurate.
They claim there are plenty of options, but that is flat out wrong. Times posted for Mat downstairs is BS and when you try to call and get help nobody answers. When you call the front desk they say, “well they are in the middle of service”. If you want crap food like McDonalds, you are all set, but people who stay here I think actually come to expect more. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE A SOLO TRAVELER.
Four times now I have spoken to people at concierge and the front desk and only once when Connor generously went out and grabbed a pizza for me did I feel actually cared about.
Going to check out early and they can have my money that is how angry I am.
A total rip off when you actually need service.
Sonnenalp, and Four Seasons do a MUCH better job.
Perfect stay!
GREAT LOCATION!
Super noisy building. The windows are not sealed
You can listen to the conversation on the hallways
The cleaning is included, but they don’t come at the time that you ask for it. They come at the time that they want or they don’t show.
The building is very crowded
The concierge don’t help at all and they don’t have information
We don’t think that we will return to this place!!!
I have never truly felt at home when staying anywhere other than my house; however, Solaris was able to achieve this. The service and the attentiveness to cleanliness were immaculate. The location was central to everything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Vail.
Customer service and staff are accomodating.
Excellent a property and staff.
Check in was at 4pm, not a minute earlier. But once you arrive at your room, it is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a nice gas stove and all the amenities needed for laundry and cooking. Our family was super comfortable in a two bedroom apartment and had enough room for all their toys.
The location is also the best in vail! you are seconds away from the village and all ice rink. We opted to stay on the non village side because we were worried about noise, however the other side (facing the highway) can be quiet noisy if you are a light sleeper.
The pool/gym area was also a nice touch, with updated workout machines and bikes.
We did have a little mishap with the concierge and our babysitter not showing up so we missed an excursion. The concierge desk was having trouble solving it, but the manager came in and handled it all swiftly to help make this feel like a five star vacation.
We will be returning. xThank you!
My wife and I recently stayed at Solaris with our 3 young children and had a truly incredible experience. We stay up in Vail a couple times a year and usually stay in the residences at The Lodge at Vail (which we still love). What attracted me to Solaris was the size of the residences and the pool/hot tub situation. We stayed in a 2 bed + den condo and it was around 1700 square feet. We had more than enough room and actually found sleeping spots for up to 10 people in our unit. It was impeccably furnished and felt very high end.
The reason we actually ended up booking was the pool and hot tub. A lot of properties in Vail have closed their hot tubs due to the current health restrictions. Outdoor pools in fall can be a bit chilly. Solaris has an indoor pool and hot tub and their current arrangement is to allow guests to book the whole facility to themselves for and hour at a time. My kids had a blast and it was so nice to have privacy as we spent time swimming and relaxing.
Lastly, I must call out the customer service. Every single interaction I had with a Solaris employee was exceptional. The front desk staff were warm, professional, and took the time to remember our names. They also heard we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and took the time to order a custom full-sized cake from a local bakery and sign a card. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Big thanks to Clarissa and Cleo for making this a memorable experience. We will be staying at Solaris soon.
This establishment is amazing! Clean and beautiful and they paid attention to every detail!
Great place to stay in vail! We stayed with kids as a part of a group and had a blast. Very well
Kept property with great employees. Would definitely go back again.
The Solaris Vail is right downtown so the location is absolutely 5 star. Due to the laundry list of line items that need improvement, I can only give the resort 3 stars. I would love to rate the overall experience higher as there are many pros, however, we won’t be booking again in the future with so many other high end options available with more affordable rates. We were in town pre-season to relax for the weekend so no skiing on this trip.
Loved:
- Location in downtown Vail is awesome.
- Proximity to great restaurants and movie theater right downstairs.
- Concierge pre-arrival service was great.
- Room layout and size was spacious.
- Heated floors and fireplace in residence worked well and kept the temps perfect.
- Privacy from other rooms was nice as well as the secure building access.
Needs Improvement:
- Line to front desk rang without answer most of the time we called.
- Master bath shower was uncomfortably small and poorly designed. We had to use the kids room bathroom that had a normal shower head and was an appropriate size.
- The actual kids room was so narrow the bathroom door hit the end of the small beds.
- Only decent size shower out of 3 bathrooms was in the kids room.
- No breakfast room service. This was a big disappointment and would have been nice to know in advance for groceries. Otherwise, only bowling alley food is available in the evening from downstairs to be brought to the room.
- No spa on site made the overall experience less desirable. We did get a great massage in one of the 2 treatment rooms, but there’s not any amenities or locker rooms to relax in.
- No outdoor hot tub onsite was a big let down. We were offered access to the local fitness club a few blocks away but never made the walk in the snow over there.
- TV in master bedroom only played music and was not connected to the cable so we couldn’t comfortably watch the Broncos game.
- Main room cable TV did work but the couch was so small, scratchy and worn out that it wasn’t comfortable for two adults to sit or lay on.
- No audio to play our own music on in the room.
- Most uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve ever experienced. An old lumpy mattress covered in an old lumpy topper made for
3 restless nights sleep. The pillows were all either overstuffed for decoration or totally flat. For the most expensive rate in Vail you would hope the bedding would be at least mildly updated. It was the biggest let down to leave with a stiff back and neck after a weekend of massages.
Favorite:
- Great dinners at Matsuhisa without having to even leave the building!
Overall you can’t go wrong in downtown Vail. The Solaris is nice for families but I wouldn’t go back there for another couples trip when so many other nearby resorts can provide the price justified luxury amenities.
We stayed here for 3 nights. This is top of the line, Great condo, Great location.
Very friendly staff, professional ,always ready to assist me with any requests.
We highly recommend to anyone.
Many shops ad restaurants all within easy walking distance.
Besides have a shuttle, the city busses run all the time and they are free.
Wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived. This is more a service apartment style accommodation than a hotel. Service was great and the rooms were clean and pretty large. Great views too. Loved the sitting room and kitchen which was very well equipped. The gym wasn’t too bad and probably very good for a service apartment.
Location was wonderful in Vail Village with easy access to the shops.
