Pros:

Il nostro appartamento aveva un terrazzo molto grande, bello e direttamente sul mare. L’unico aspetto negativo è che aveva una tenda sporca e rotta ed è un peccato perché la posizione e la disponibilità del personale valgono il viaggio. Sicuramente ritorneremo.

Wouldn’t recommend if you want to travel about
Pros:

We’ve travelled italy a lot, but unfortunately this was our worst experience yet. The location of the hotel is a 45 minute walk to the nearest train station so if you’re looking to visit other places in Tuscany without a car, I definitely wouldn’t recommend. It made it very difficult, tiring and expensive to travel.

The hotel was very ‘eary’ and I didn’t see any other guests while we were there. It was completely silent and a unwelcoming atmosphere.

The hotel pool wasn’t open as it doesn’t open until June but this wasn’t advertised when we booked it.

The hotel breakfast was really bad, all that was to offer on the buffet was stale bread rolls, some ham and cheese and some pots of cheap tasting yogurt. There is absolutely no atmosphere in the breakfast room, deadly silent with loads of empty tables. We were the only people in there every morning, and we stayed 5 nights. There’s no background music or anything; it’s literally just deadly silent.

Two out of the 5 days we were offered some cooked eggs, which were nice. But again this isn’t advertised so we didn’t know this was actually available.

We’ve stayed in many other hotels in Tuscany which provide a welcome service and indulgent breakfast, we simply didn’t get this here.

Balcony was really small with 2 plastic chairs and no table, which doesn’t suit us as we like to sit out on an evening and enjoy a glass of wine / card games while getting ready.

"Spacious apartment with sea views".
Pros:

My wife & I are at present staying in a spacious apartment with sea views. On arrival we were greeted with a huge smile from Dario on the front desk. He explained the hotel layout clearly and has been very helpful with any questions we had. Apart from our huge apartment with free WiFi, two beds, two bathrooms & two balconies with stunning see views the whole hotel is extremely clean. We also have a kitchen with every utensil needed to dine in.The famous Viareggio is a short stroll along the promenade but personally we prefer Lido di Camaiore with it's magnificent beach and huge choice of restaurants.
Well done "Hotel Capri" we are having a fantastic holiday.

Understated
Pros:

I have read some of the latest reviews and must disagree with most. The lobby is bright with a small reception desk in one corner. I was welcomed politely and asked whether I wanted a standard room or sea view, I took the standard. Our room wasn't enormous but large enough with everything we needed including a good sized bathroom.
Everything about this hotel is understated. It is well decorated, but not over the top. The Staff are polite, approachable and efficiently get on with their job. Breakfast is reasonable. There is free wifi, and off road parking. I saw the pool which is not very big, but you're next to the sea if you wish to swim distance. The lift is small, maybe 4 people at most and may be a problem for buggies and wheelchairs. I judge a hotel on whether I would return . I would definitely use this hotel again

Pros:

Stayed here for 10 days and I am amazed what people expect for their money.
The guys at reception ,I accept they are not the heart and soul of the party but when you engage them with respect and make an effort they were great always ready to help when needed.
A bit dated inside but nothing to wind herself up about.
Great location I am not going to say I could not fault them because I was more interested in enjoying my holiday.
So I would say if u are a party animal or are a total unreasonable miserable git don't go here or to Italy because you will hate it

Good location, dreadful hospitality.
Pros:

We came here from Florence with our two small children. Our initial reaction was that the foyer was dark and gloomy but nothing prepared us for the icy, unfriendly "welcome" we received from the old man at the reception desk. We then went to see our room and were so disheartened when we saw the dark, cramped and depressing room with a concrete balcony looking out onto a wall. Our parents room was equally miserable. I went to reception and was told we could indeed be moved to a better, bigger room but it would cost 300€ extra. The receptionist was absolutely horrible. We pleaded for a better deal and he said the manager might give us a better deal, which he did, 150€ to upgrade the two rooms. The lift in this hotel is tiny so unsuitable for buggys. The pool area seems to be unused and lacks any atmosphere. The water is very cold. On a brighter note, the rooms are cleaned well and breakfast was quite nice. I would definitely not go back as its unfriendly and lacking any kind of atmosphere.

More like a funeral parlour than a hotel!!
Pros:

If you are looking for a warm welcome with genuine Italian hospitality on your next visit to Italy then don't stay at this hotel!!! The management & staff seriously need to take a sandwich course in social skills as this hotel has the ambiance & aura of a funeral parlour, On arrival to this hotel we were greeted with 2 short questions i.e name and passports.... we were then given a key and shown the elevator ? we had booked for half board ( breakfast and dinner? but wasn't told of the times for breakfast or dinner or where the restaurant was located...We found out next morning that there are 2 restaurants one for dinner and one for breakfast...naturally we went to the restaurant we had dinner in to have our breakfast only to find out that it was shut? after waiting 20 minutes we were finally told by one of the waiters that breakfast is served in another restaurant? on a heads up our room ( superior) was clean and had a pleasant view of the sea however I can honestly say that even this plus point did not compensate for the fact that this is a depressing Hotel run by a depressing and miserable management...

Most unfriendly hotel
Pros:

There were a few good points to this hotel which I'll list first: Good sized rooms and bathrooms which are well finished (though awful smell from drainage in our bathroom!), wonderful views (if you pay for a superior room),plenty of food of reasonable quality, fair prices, and well done to Roberto, the waiter, who did his best under adversity! On the negative side: There is no atmosphere, the pool was closed, there are huge groups (40-50 from whom they make their profit), there is one tiny lift (max. 4 people), and finally, the management/reception staff are the most miserable bunch of old codgers I have ever come across in my life! I will not return.

Surprise Inside
Pros:

The good thing about driving is finding places you never knew existed. This beach promenade district is endless and flooded with hotels. We just stopped to look at the beach and take it all in and looked over at Hotel Capri. Being 6pm, we walked in and the wonderful Stefano had a vacancy at a very, very reasonable rate. We didn't think twice. The hotel has been refurbished extremely well and tastefully decorated. We had a corner room at front with two balconys and endless views. Pristine condition, great hot shower, fridge, safe, hooks, space. And parking and a surprise pool in the backyard. A decent cappuccino in the morning as well to top off an impromptu one night stay. Hope all our hotels are as good as this along our journey.

great holiday
Pros:

We spent 1 week with our family at H Capri at the beginning of August 2011.
We had a halb-pension booking. The food is good and sufficient, although not very varied.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they did their best to fulfill our demands. The room is quite large and nicely-furnished. the entire hotel has an older design, which makes is warm and familiar.
The hotel is located on the beach and there is a free beach right in front of the hotel. It is one of the largest hotel in Lido di Camaiore. It is situated close to the entrance from viareggio in lido di camaiore(about 4 km to the center of viareggio- take a walk in the evening! ). The pool wasn't used by anyone during our stay, although it was clean and the water was just the right temperature.

the resort is amazing one of the best i've ever seen.the beach and the sea are amazing!
We enjoyed the stay in the hotel and we would like to go back!

honest 3 star hotel
Pros:

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights, on halfboard basis. The rooms are very large, which was surprising... The aircon didn't seem to keep up with the heat outside, so we didn't know waht is better, close the balcony and have the aircon on, ... or to switch it off and open the balcony. Very clean, the maid visited daily and brought fresh towels... Unusual towels, different that i seen so far, but efficient in drying your skin. Very nice and helpfull staff, though, one lady at the front desk, looked like the owner, was more pushy... she was not very happy that we didn't park our car in the garage (10 eur/day) , for the extra-charge... We found it was less troublesome to leave it on a street in the back of the hotel, unatended but free of charge, as it was a rental... Apart of that lady, the other were exceptional, the waiter, the maid... The public beach is just accross the street, so the location of the hotel is just perfect. The hotel has a swiming pool, a small one, and nobody seems to use it, because it is most of the time in shadow, and the sun doesn't heat up the water. The check out time is 10.30 in the morning, be aware if you plann a last swim on the day of departure, we were cought by surprise and told by the owner we had to give up to the initial plans of leaving the hotel at noon. The dinner is fixed menu, choice of 3 alternatives for each course. Drinks are not included, but the wines are good and charged at common prices, as any restaurant. Overall, satisfied and happy with our stay at this hotel, but not to the level of returning to this particular hotel again. It has excelent prices if booked via contractors... operators, travel agencies, online booking systems, look it up that way.
