Retained the ambience of the original.
It position overlooking the lake.
The only negative in relation this property is the menu.
Not the content, but the fact that if you have a stay of more than a couple of days, it repeats itself, especially if one’s taste precludes some items. Perhaps a daily, or two daily special may alleviate this caveat.
Stunning location
Gorgeous property on the lake. The views were spectacular. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. Staff was accommodating and helpful.
The included breakfast buffet was sparse. Food was adequate but not spectacular. The afternoon tea was lovely but extremely expensive. We were greeted with champagne which we ended up paying for.
The remoteness of the hotel made you captive to their restaurant if you hadn’t a car.
The entire staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was extremely comfortable and had an amazing view. The breakfasts are delicious with so many options. We took a morning cruise on the Langdale Chase Albatross which was wonderful. The captain and guide/crew member were awesome -- giving us some history of different homes, legends & areas of the lake as well as history of the boat itself. It is also convenient for touring around The Lake District. We had an incredible week at Langdale and highly recommend it!
One individual male staff member would seat people at tables with no view even when tables with views were available. Is he saving the best places for more important people? It would be much more hospitable to seat whoever comes in to one of your many beautiful tables with a view, if there are any available. Most people would be willing to wait a few minutes to have it cleaned, if that was the problem. But that wasn't even the case on at least two occasions when tables with a view were available, and we were seated at a table with no view. Why not show off your amazing views and grounds/gardens to everyone who walks in, but especially for someone staying at Langdale for a week!

Possibly the most idyllic location in the Lake District. A beautiful venue only a stones throw from Lake Windermere
Only possible improvement for us would be spa/pool facility.
Wunderschöne Lage, sehr schönes Gebäude in einem tollen Park. Gemütliches Restaurant / Lounge / Bar mit hervorragendem Essen.
Auswahl an vegetarischen Speisen sehr klein. Sehr kleines Frühstücksbuffet. Preis / Leistung für das eher kleine Zimmer mit sehr wenig Stauraum stimmt nicht.
View was amazing, room and bathroom are clean and spacious. Many items in the mini bar were complimentary
