The staff were very pleasant. The hotel was clean and in good order.
The location was really handy for the town and eaay to get to. The Morrisons was handy for fuel.
We did not get to try the spa.
The food was good, though the bacon and sausages let the breakfast down, everything else was quality.
We felt the bar menu was a little constrained, but what we had was nice.
The bacon and sausages ruined the really good breakfast and the coffee tasted a little stale. But overall the food was excellent!
NOTHING
Staff very friendly. Food excellent.
Room decor a bit tired. Bathroom could do with a makeover. Disappointed to be charged for parking (via Booking.com not the hotel)
Location
Being charged car parking in the hotel grounds
Location, parking (not free!)
Breakfast, small room, unheated bathroom
Breakfast was very nice and a good selection
Nothing. It suited our needs
Staff were very friendly and professional, breakfast was good.
My children were not allowed to use the sauna or steam room even accompanied by me which was disappointing as we regularly use these where we live. The pool area has a capacity of 30 which is ridiculous for a hotel that has this many rooms. We were turned away due to this capacity being reached on a Saturday afternoon. The pool is a very strange shape which means only 1 or 2 people can swim a length, and the rest have to stand around in the cold water.
The rooms are dated, smell of Moth balls, and had a postage stamp size TV on the side wall not in front of the beds, which is not viewable easily or comfortably.
The facilities and the seating areas to relax.
The breakfast could do with more choice. We booked to eat in the à la carte restaurant, it was very slow, 1/2 an hour to wait for drinks before we ordered.i think the young waitresses just need more training on service.
Not a lot
Rooms basic . Limited water no drinking water and uncomfortable pillows and rooms noisy
One of the worst breakfasts with poor coffee and selection of non cooked food
Nice people and helpful staff. Got upgraded to a family room, but did not ask.
Told I had to pay £10 for parking one night, when it says parking on the booking.com website.
Also old tv which meant we could not watch the fire stick we brought.
Swimming pool
Hotel is really outdated, rooms are small for family of 4, beds uncomfortable and you can hear everything what’s happening in room above you, total lack of sleep. Can you add to this review that breakfast poor, lack of choices and only 2 choices of fruit offered!!!!
Decent size family room and breakfast was good.
Also good amount of parking available
Little bit slow with breakfast service, cutlery and table laying etc etc.
Thought room and bathroom could have been a little cleaner.
Everything
Nothing
We booked a room for a family of 3 and got a spacious room with two zones - bedroom with an king-size bed and a separate single bed. Hotel is not new but it is well maintained given the tenure. Staff was very helpful at the reception. We leveraged swimming pool access both in the evening and early morning - great add on for family with kids. Breakfast was well organized and fair although not too many options apart from 'English breakfast' buffet. Also dinner included was a great solution for us. Food was good and portions were of a decent size from the menu.
It was additionally paid but there was parking available on-site and we could keep the car parked even after check-out for couple of hours which was quite helpful.
Check-in is at 4pm which feels quite late, although for us it wasnt an issue as we spent all day travelling and exploring the area. Staff in the restaurant was probably a new starter as wasnt able to advise on the menu, on the drinks and was charged us for the meal although we said it was prebooked and prepaid - so probably just lack of experience.
