Location good. Room okay Food good
More cupboard space and a better shower
Location was good close to amenities, Cathedral etc. Nice rooms, nice staff/ Very helpful
Nothing. Location was good. Evening meals would have been nice. Would have happily paid extra
The hotel itself is very well maintained. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff are professional and friendly. The breakfast was one of the best breakfast I’ve had in a hotel in a long time. Well done!
They entry for this hotel says it has parking. When I got there, expecting a car park, I was told they only had five spaces and they were all fully booked. There is a car park next door, but it is a short stay and it’s quite expensive.
Staff
Hotel rooms are opposite a night club which is less than 20 meters away !!!
The Red Lion is a lovely character full hotel which was a pleasure to stay at. The staff were excellent and the hotel was very clean and comfortable.
Parking in the public carport behind the hotel was a long walk to the reception entrance and we could not use the locked carport entrance which would have halved the walk.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Limited parking but nearby public car park is convenient. Excellent breakfast. Good storage for bikes.
Bar was a bit dreary and no bitter.
Location
Close to town centre and all it encompasses, and the staff were absolutely amazing
The noise on Saturday was quite loud but you expect it in a town centre with loads of pubs and gen x
The location was brilliant. The property itself is so pretty and the staff were really lovely. If you’re looking for old English charm, this hotel is perfect.
The rooms were so hot! It was 10 degrees outside and even with the window open we were sweating. Our room was opposite a night club so having the window open in the evening was very loud. The cleaning could have been a bit more through as there were used shampoo sachets in our shower. The bed was also two beds pushed together so it made having a cuddle difficult 😂
Parking looked tricky and expensive, so used Park & Ride. Hotel looks very old and wonderful. Breakfast can be ordered on the day and can be paid for by cash.
Drinks at the bar expensive and disappointed they don't accept cash - needs to change. Further than I thought from the Cathedral but the walk was ok.
Ottima posizione, camere molto belle e particolari, colazione buona, staff molto gentile e competente
A centrally located hotel with friendly staff. It is an old building, but the rooms are comfy and cosy. We were able to store our bicycles securely inside the hotel overnight.
