First, I have to be honest and admit we were unable to go on our 3 night short break. This was due to a lady in our group being critically ill with cancer to the extent she potentially only had days to live. In fact she passed away on the Thursday before our break.
Liam at the hotel dealt with the cancellation in an understanding and very sympathetic way and I was extremely grateful for the compassion he showed.
Now we come to the infuriating side of things. I paid a 100 pound deposit for a meal for 10 on 19/7. I explained the sad reasons for our cancellation. Would they refund? NO. Cold, unsympathetic, uncaring. No words can describe the inconsiderate nature of the dining policy. DON'T book food there. Liam and the catering side were at different ends of the spectrum. So inconsiderate, so cold, so mercenary I found it hard to believe.
Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr gemütliche, saubere Zimmer. Das Frühstück war sensationell wegen „Wendy“ der freundlichsten englischen Frau wo wir je getroffen haben und wir haben schon sehr, sehr viele getroffen! Man sitzt auch im Restaurant total gemütlich!
This is a beautiful boutique hotel nestled in beautiful Iffley Village. A fabulous location and so very picturesque .

Very comfortable bed, refreshing air conditioning. Staff were hard-working and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, the Sunday roast dinner delicious and good value.

Muitos insetos e aranhas e mesmo assim os funcionários banalizaram isso! Pedi várias vezes pra que não me colocassem no prédio secundário (que não tem recepção própria, que tinha mais insetos e aranhas e que meu quarto ficava no porão) mas disseram que não era possível! Somente quando eu estava indo embora que tentaram reverter oferecendo um quarto no prédio principal, isso depois de eu já ter pedido mais de 5 vezes e eles tendo negado todas!
The location was quiet and leafy, yet the bus stop was only a short walk away and a great, regular service straight into the city centre.
Eating dinner outside on the terrace was delightful on a warm evening, and the air conditioning was wonderful when the temperature was 30+ degrees
When we arrived, the refreshment tray was a jumble and one of the glasses was dirty, but the young man on reception replaced it immediately.
Breakfast was excellent, but at busy times we had to wait for things eg a mug, yoghurt, pastries. Just a little patience required - all were replaced as quickly as possible
Loved the house and grounds and also the neighbourhood. The room was huge. The staff were very helpful also. Liked that there was free parking.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and a very lovely breakfast with an enormous amount of choice, including a machine which would freshly make you hot pancakes!
