We decided to have a romantic dinner at the restaurant of Laksasubha Hua Hin Resort, based on the many glowing online reviews. The beautifully lit entrance created high expectations – unfortunately, it all went downhill from there.
The atmosphere inside was cold and uninspired, completely lacking the charm you’d expect from a place promoting itself as romantic. The menu was limited, the cutlery was placed carelessly, and the staff showed little interest in us from the start.
We ordered three dishes and a bowl of white rice: fried fish with Thai herbs, spicy glass noodles seafood salad, and fried shrimp (5 pieces). Sadly, the food was a huge letdown. The fish was clearly not fresh and tasted like it had been fried in old oil. The seafood salad included old mussels, wilted lettuce, and soggy cucumber and tomato. The shrimp were passable, but nothing special.
The portions were extremely small, while the prices were on the high side. Even the beer was served without a glass – we had to specifically ask for one. Throughout the meal, the service was inattentive, and we felt completely ignored.
What was meant to be a special evening ended in disappointment. We honestly don’t understand the positive reviews – our experience was the complete opposite. Overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth a visit.
The hotel is in a great location. Staff are great but the hotel is now getting a little tired and run down. I understand from the staff that this is the last season before permanent closure. A villa complex will be built on the site.
We loved this place but unfortunately it’s closing as of 1/6/25. Shame, we had such great times there, lovely staff and fellow residents. It was a perfect location for exploring Hua Hin and for playing golf in the area. No idea what is going to happen to the buildings/location in the future.
Our room was so big, bed super comfortable and great pillows. The room was spotless and daily housekeeping were very good. Bathroom was clean and functional. Check in was easy as was checkout. Pools were really nice and service was good. The only negative is the breakfast was not great but that said we will definitely be back
Although the bungalows are very comfortable, big beds, good aircon and the staff are very good, I did find the breakfast offering a little disapointting there was a lot of Thai food and very little Falang food also the fact I cant stomach eggs didnt help other than that as I said previously I couldnt fault the place.
Had a great time
Large rooms good location for beach and night life
very nice hotel
The hotel overall looks very nice , the rooms are big and spacious. The beds are comfortable.
But the bathroom needs urgent renovations. The shower terrible, cold water and everything old and a little bit dirty
The breakfast, nothing special .
The capacity off sun loungers is to little for a fully booked hotel and people put the towel early in the morning so you don’t have any change to sit near the pool .
We had a really good stay. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet. Breakfast on the beach was lovely, and the staff was helpful. All in all, the hotel could use a bit of renovation—some of the furniture is outdated, so it might be time for a refresh. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our time here.
Positives:
* Great location, close to all amenities - shops, bars, restaurants - all within a short walk
* Hotel environment and grounds are lovely - a real oasis feel in the middle of the main street - is quiet once you enter the resort
* Hotel staff generally lovely- everyone greets you and says hello at every opportunity
* Room good size, lots of storage, big bed, lovely bungalow/apartment feel
* Rooms are cleaned and looked after by housekeeping
* Breakfast selection is plentiful and food and coffee good quality - couldn't fault it
Negatives:
* beach front photos are a little misleading in the Dec /Jan time of year as there was no beach at all for a lot of the days as the tide came right up to the hotel wall
*main pool only has about 10 sunbeds that get the sun so unless you are there at 7am to grab those beds, you will struggle to sunbathe
*all beds at the main pool (the infinity pool by the beach) only get the sun until 11.30am or so
*some sunbeds by the middle pool get the sun but no more than 5 or 6 so they are usually taken
All in all, this hotel is a good choice for a short stay and the location to everything hua hin has to offer is great but not ideal if you are looking for a sunbathing filled break or a paradise beach location
We had a great stay at the resort. Really relaxing atmosphere and very much enjoyed by us all. Breakfast was excellent, room and beds were excellent and all of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend and will be back in the future.
The place is really nice and right by the water. The location is very central. There are some negatives about the place that I am giving only three stars.
There are two pools but not enough lounge chairs. People would reserve them by putting their towels without using them. The hotel needs to implement no reserve rules for the chairs.
When I checked in, they told me they upgraded my room. Which would have been nice if it was an upgrade. The room had no view and the worst location. The only upgrade I can think of was the size but it had a really weird layout and furnishing. I asked to be moved the next day to get the room that I paid for which was a garden view room.
I would not book the room with the breakfast option. The view of the restaurant is nice but the food is very mediocre and not worth the price.
The best thing about the place is the service. They are very friendly and helpful beginning with a welcome drink when you check in.
Breakfast was excelled. Great variety.
Always found loungers at pool. Would have been nice to be able to have lounger on the beach in the afternoon. No sun left at the pool.
x
Easy access to the beach and walkable to local street foods,
It was such a nice stay we had for two day that we booked another 9 days 3 days later , we will return tomorrow , it feels like walking in a small Village with separate houses on the Way to the breakfast that i tights on the Beach , we loves it and cant wait to go back
Beautiful hotel in a great location.
This is a really lovely hotel with lush gardens and right on the beach. Its has an infinity pool looking onto the water and a bigger pool back in the garden area. There are bars serving food and drink at both pools. The rooms are very nice and have everything you need. Great bed. Housekeepers are really friendly and ours- Hong- was amazing, she did a brilliant job.
Food in the hotel was excellent and it also has a great happy hour from 4 til 6 - buy one get one free.
We also used the small fitness room- it’s not amazing but did the job.
The only slight negative is that there is not an abundance of sun loungers. There are only 12 at the garden pool and not much more at the beachfront pool. Of course that leads people to reserve them with towels, sometimes for hours. The Thai staff are too polite to do anything about it so it can be difficult to get a sun-bed. We had an upstairs room with a terrace that included a table and chairs and 2 sun-beds so it wasn’t a huge issue for us. Pay attention to your room choice if you want the sun lounger option.
The gardens here are beautiful and it’s a lovely tranquil place to sit outside your room and relax. I would definitely stay here again when in Hua Hin.
Amazing boutique hotel. Great staff with a personal touch, very helpful. Beautiful clean Thai style rooms with character, manicured gardens all very well kept.
Quiet and restful no yoga classes in the pool fortunately as the huge chains insist on performing.
Thank you to all staff
Laksasubha Hua Hin is a wonderful property with attentive and friendly staff. There was one person at reception who tried to overcharge us a smaller room when we stopped by just to check the location out but we never saw them again in the 4 or 5 nights we booked.
When we did book a room they upgraded us to a bigger suite about half way into the property near a more private pool but we never had a chance to try it out as the infinity pool overlooking the beach was more what we were after. The property is very deep with a winding path through the greenery which makes it feel even larger.
The breakfasts were wonderful, and the coffee was easy to access in the morning without waiting in a long line. Bar prices were a little high but not excessive and they did have a two for one happy hour.
Overall I would stay here again
