Thank you Hotel Walther, for a magical family vacation! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Mrs. Walther, we felt truly welcomed and valued as guests at this remarkable hotel. Sabine and Leonie were wonderfully helpful and kind and the entire staff was exceptionally professional. We dined twice in the bar area and the food was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was fun to talk to , and we really enjoyed the relaxed upscale atmosphere with live piano music. Breakfast was also delicious and included something for everyone. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable, quiet, gorgeous and we loved the interior design throughout the entire hotel! Worth every penny and was pure perfection!
The ski locker room area was very convenient and had large benches for putting on boots and plenty of storage room for oversized gear bags if needed. The shuttle driver was very kind and took us to the Celerina-Marguns base area a couple of times and also drove us to and from the train station. We opted to use the local bus on other occasions and it was very easy to figure out by sing the SBB mobile app. The bus stop was located right next to the hotel and made getting to and from St. Moritz a breeze.
From arrival to departure, our vacation was a dream and we look forward to returning! Cheers!

This was our second family vacation to the fabulous Hotel Walther. I could not imagine that it would be as wonderful as our first visit. But remarkably, it was even better!

The hotel is absolutely fantastic. The entire front desk staff is so friendly and professional.

The lobby is beautifully decorated, and impeccably well-maintained.

We had two connecting rooms facing South. The beds and pillows are so comfortable. The housekeepers do a wonderful job. I loved the in-room coffee machine and the complimentary sodas.
The tap water from the bathroom sink is excellent for drinking (better tasting than the bottled water) and we refilled our plastic water bottles daily.

Our room was directly adjacent to the elevator…but we never heard any noise whatsoever. The rooms are so quiet.

The food is five-star. Every night a delicious five-course meal. My daughters loved the choices of pasta, wiener schnitzel and chicken nuggets. In fact, I enjoyed the schnitzel as well, on occasion.

Like all the hotel staff, the wait-staff are kind and professional. Special notice to Daniele, Camilla, Maria and Manolo…all superb.

Herr and Frau Walther greet all their guests each day, as they take a sincere interest in how the vacation is meeting expectations.

The paid shuttles to Celerina ski slopes are easy to schedule, and the drivers are again, kind and professional.

Afternoon tea is such a relaxing way to spend an hour in the beautiful lobby with the piano after a long day of skiing.

Amazingly, after a full day of skiing, while I enjoyed a tea, my children (ages 10 & 12) still had the energy to swim for an hour or two each day, prior to dinner.

It is a very expensive vacation, but it is worth every single penny. My family has so many cherished memories. I am not sure whether we can make it an annual tradition, but we will surely be back.

We loved our 4 night stay here, especially the very personal approach by the family-owned proprietors and attentive staff. Amazing location for access to the entire valley, hiking, gondolas, restaurants, towns, and right in the special town of Pontresina. We ate dinners at each of the restaurants, and each was unique with excellent meals and atmospheres. Breakfasts (included) were wonderful in an old-Europe dining room. Views were magnificent, our room was large, lots of storage, and a great balcony/view. Strong recommendation.

We stayed here during the first week of September and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. We enjoyed every second of our stay.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches that reflected the hotel’s attention to detail.

The wellness area is great, featuring a pool, sauna, and relaxation areas that create the perfect atmosphere after a day of hiking in the Engadin mountains.

Breakfast was excellent! Dining at the hotel in the evening was also perfect, with refined dishes and attentive service.

The hotel is full of charm, blending historic character with modern comfort, and the location in Pontresina is ideal.

If there’s one small area for improvement, it would be the gym, which feels a little limited in equipment for those who want a full workout.

Otherwise, the overall experience was excellent. We will be going back, no doubt. It is a wonderful place!

What a memorable return to one of our most favorite hotels of the hundreds we've visited. You experience hospitality at its finest at the Walther. Frau Walther personally welcomed us upon arrival. The entire staff couldn't have been more friendly. Our room was lovely with more amenities I've ever experienced such as a foot mask and lovely hand cream. Breakfast was delicious , the spa was great after a long day of sightseeing, and don't miss the afternoon tea and cake in the main lounge where you can relax while listening to favorite piano tunes played live. Staff goes all out to make sure your stay is comfortable. We purposely designed our Italy/Swiss trip around a return stay and are so glad we did. Pontresina is charming. Every Swiss trip should include a visit this charming village and a stay at the Hotel Walther.

Hotel Walther is one of my favorites. Such a beautiful and stylish hotel. Quiet rooms, good beds, nice bathrooms. Breakfast is excellent and the staff amazing. Looking forward to my next stay, hopefully soon.

Prachtig hotel, zeer smaakvol ingericht, goede restaurants. zeer vriendelijk personeel, mooie life muziek en klassieke kamerconcerten.

Wonderful. I booked a single room, requested a traditional style, everything was met. The staff, the food, the room, amenities (hand cream and a feet mask in the room!). Kudos to the receptionists, they were truly wonderful from start to finish. Highly recommended.

A Magical Stay – Exceptional in Every Way

We stayed at Hotel Walther last night and it was, quite simply, exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly looked after – we were collected from the train station and personally greeted at the hotel by the owner, which set the tone for a stay that went far beyond our expectations.

The service throughout was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We were generously upgraded to a beautiful room with a view overlooking the mountains – a breathtaking sight to wake up to.

The hotel itself is like something out of a fairy tale, full of charm and elegance. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a wide and delicious variety of options. We also enjoyed a massage during our stay – the therapist was outstanding, one of the best we’ve experienced anywhere.

The spa facilities were fantastic, with a range of hot and cold sauna experiences that left us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.

Every detail was perfect. Hotel Walther is a rare gem – luxurious, welcoming, and unforgettable. We’ll definitely be returning.

I stayed at this beautiful hotel owned by a family but under the Relais & Chateaux brand, and I have to say that my partner and I were really charmed by this property.
They welcomed us and our dog in such a friendly way; everyone from the front office team to the restaurant team was very nice and super professional.
A huge BRAVO goes to the bar team for preparing one of the best Bloody Marys of our lives, thank you chef for serving us an exquisite Bündner Gerstensuppe. Thanks also for the wonderful breakfast buffet with high quality ingredients and excellent service.
And a big thank you to the Trattoria restaurant; I am Italian and I must say that I am not often impressed by the quality of the food.
PS: book this place if you travel with a dog, it’s a super dog-friendly 😍

I recently had an amazing stay at this hotel, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional.
