Breakfast was delicious
Noise initially from beer garden
Room was clean, bed was so comfortable and pillows were comfortable.
Had trouble getting the water to regulate in the shower.
The staff were so friendly and helpful during the stay and in the build up. We had a big group and they could not have done more to accommodate us. Lovely leisure centre and the food was really good in the bistro
Staff are lovely and accommodating, the hotel is nice and clean as always. And the beds are comfy!
Also, the Irish rib of beef on the lunch carvery, cut like butter!
A wonderful stay. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent in the Bistro.
My mam, daughter and I had a great two night break at the Anner Hotel. The staff are so friendly and obliging and I feel are the hotel's greatest asset. From our welcome, time in the restaurant and interactions with other staff, we felt so well looked after for our entire stay. We loved the breakfast and the food in the bar and having the pool was great entertainment for my little girl. The kids club wasn't running during our stay but we were allowed into the play room which was great. All of the staff paid special attention to my little girl, she was treated so well! The room was so clean and well presented and a lovely member of housekeeping staff checked on us after the first night to see if we needed our room turned down or any fresh supplies. 10/10 to The Anner for customer service.
Nice warm hotel
The bath was impossible to get in and out of. Could easily slip . A wet room. Would be more efficient⁹
Excellent for a mid size Irish town hotel. Good service. Good food. Nice room.
Not much to dislike except maybe more choice at breakfast..
We stayed one night, courtesy of Rory’s travel club. In checking in we were told there was no dinner reservation slot until 8pm which did not suit us as we had a meeting elsewhere at 9pm. There was no ‘give’ at all. We found this most annoying and feel that we should have been given prior notice about this on booking.
However, we subsequently met a most helpful, talented and cheerful member of staff (Muireann) who sorted everything and in a nice way. This was in total contrast to the reception staff.
Muireann should be applauded for her demeanour and also proved to be a very talented cocktail maker!
Had a bad experience with our room(room no. 115) . Despite asking for a quiet room on booking, we had a room with a loud humming generator or fan outside our window (and also facing a wall) .
We did ask to have a room change but couldn’t avail of this as we only found this out when we were leaving for our meeting and it was too late and we were too tired on our return to move all our stuff into the ‘new’ room.
We have often stayed in the Anner Hotel and have found it to be very nice and welcoming but this latest experience was a bit of a let down . Muireann saved the day, thankfully!
Just returned from our 3rd stay at The Anner Hotel. We love the atmosphere of the hotel. Every member of staff we met went out of their way to be helpful. Special mention to Marie on reception. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We ate in the bistro on both nights and enjoyed our meals very much.
Looking forward to booking a stay again soon.
Great location, Thurles is a lovely town & not far from the Rock of Cashel & Glen of Aherlow which we visited while in Tipperary. The hotel had a good atmosphere, staff were lovely & so helpful to us. The room was perfect, particularly loved the bathroom which looked to have been refurbed, the shower was amazing and special shout out for having a detachable shower head, excellent for showering a child! I felt we got value for our money staying here, there was confusion however over the deal I had booked, I believed dinner on both nights was included however we only got dinner on one night & only I got it free, not my child. They was one downer. Cleanliness, food had no grievance there, the place was perfectly clean! Noise level on our second night was an issue, the appeared to be a graduation ball on & we could hear noise from same until 3am, first night was perfect though! My only main issue in this hotel was how cold the children’s pool was, we couldn’t enjoy the use of it due to it being quite frankly, icy. My daughter was quite disappointed at not being able to spend time in it. The main pool however was lovely & the perfect temperature!
Everything
Nothing
Very poor hotel. Room was grubby with marks on walls and dust on furniture. There was a calpol syringe and a kids toy under the bed from previous occupants. The bathroom was surprisingly clean considering how poor the room was. No safe in room. The entire pool area was grubby and could do with a total overhaul. Neither of the water features in the kids pool or main pool were working. We visited the pool on the evening we arrived and the next morning. On the first day we had to wait an hour for towels. On the second day there were no towels available and when I pushed the attendant she went and got us hand towels which were not much use. The changing room was tiny with only 8 lockers and the amount of hair on the floor at 12 noon made it look like the place hadn't been cleaned for days. There was no shower gel in the pool showers. The food was really nice and the staff were friendly though the service was slow. I won't be back.
It was very convenient for us as we visiting extended family in the area. It’s a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and friendly staff. We loved the breakfast options and also the food in the evenings.
Lovely time at this hotel for a family birthday celebration. Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Many thanks. We stayed overnight and breakfast next morning was lovely.
