100% would recommend this hotel!
Pros:

I would 100% recommend this hotel!

We have just spent 4 days at this hotel and I can not understand why there is any negative reviews!
I have stayed in a lot of all inclusive abroad but I feel as though a lot of the reviews that I was reading prior to arrival are unfair.

The hotel is very relaxed and clean. I am quite fussy with food , but the meat was so good! There was a wide selection available and lots of variation every day.
The all inclusive drinks are great including a range of cocktails, coffees and soft drinks!
The room was cleaned every day.
The pool area is very clean and plenty of sunbeds, 3 large pools, one of which is heated and really pleasant to swim in even at this time of year!

Like every hotel there is room for improvement but only minor.
We would have liked a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee and a bottle of water at least in the fridge with in the bedroom.
Also would have liked the terrace bar to open earlier as this didn’t open until 6pm and we like to have a drink prior to getting ready for our dinner.

Leila at reception was great and really friendly. Bar and caters staff also very quick and friendly.

Very disappointed
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from the 7th to the 14th of January, this was our second visit, but never again! The hotel was okay but the holiday was ruined by a group of very rowdy drunken guests. Shouting, screaming, Playing Loud music day and night.
The food wasn’t too bad a bit hit and miss but it was nearly always cold.
My husband lost two rings, a wedding and Claddagh ring on the day of our departure , he realised he left them in the drawer next to the bed in our room, we contacted the hotel but they said they were not there, we are devastated, those rings meant so much 😢

Nice hotel, friendly staff, QUIET location, ideal for solo's. Not for those wanting lots bars, sports TV or party life
Pros:

So this is my 4th visit here, when I last came in September the hotel had gone downhill in cleanliness and pool comfort (rooms were always clean)

However I am happy to report that this has improved again, the pool/solarium area is cleaned regularly (the pool itself always was) but the sunbathing part was dirty. This has a big team out with sunbeds stacked and area mopped.

My room was always cleaned and my cleaner left little gifts which was so nice of her, nearly all staff are friendly and helpful.

Thankfully the music played around the pool has stopped, although having music can be good, not everyone has the same taste, so if it's a genre you don't like you are stuck having to listen to it.

A few times the cocktail I liked ran out of ingredients so couldn't have it, although they had them at the other bar they couldn't go and get stock from one of those, so a little improvement on that please.

Food wise, I enjoy the food, some is still a little on the cold side but I make use of the microwave. There is a good variety and I always find something to eat. You would have to be extremely picky to not find something. The snack bar has improved greatly too, with what's on offer through the day should you want something, but breakfast and lunch is plenty. Being a Brit you will be pleased to hear that proper bacon and sausage is now available, along with other types.

It is a quiet hotel and the resort itself has a few bars and restaurants, but it is a good 30mins walk from the hotel or about 5e in a taxi. There is a well stocked little shop on the ground floor (1st) and a small mini market walking on the left of the hotel, and another one on the left of the hotel and down the hill. Other than those there are plenty of big spas in the town.

There are some good trips on offer, I have done 3 different boat trips and a jeep safari, all of which were good and worth it.

It's is a quiet place, QUIET, it's not Gran Canaria or Tenerife, some of us like quiet and make our own entertainment. It's great for solo travellers too, safe and friendly environment. If you want a party, lively place then go somewhere that offers that, don't come here and expect it, demand it or moan, it's up to you to do your research (which going by some reviews they clearly haven't)

To sum up, it's nice, it's quiet, it's friendly, has a comfortable atmosphere, not for those who want bars bars bars but plenty around if you want the best of both.

Lovely 10 days
Pros:

I can’t understand bad reviews. I agree hotel is isolated (hence not 5 stars) as nearest bar (Tonys) about 10 min walk We went with Jet2 who give 3 stars - if you want 5 star pay for it. The hotel itself has lots of facilities, including heated swimming pools. Our room was spotless as was bed linen and towels. Marco who was Animation did a really good job especially as he was on his own. We chose to keep to ourselves but everyone was friendly. We got a taxi twice to Furrte Sports bar (approx 5 to 6 euros) as too far for me to walk but many did walk. Food choice good as we had fish, beef, chicken, pork loin, vesl, lamb etc with different veg. Salad bar well stocked, paella, pizza, pasta Only downside red wine freezing cold but thats personal. Reception staff need a mention too as they were so helpful

Ideal for single travellers who don’t want to leave the hotel in the evening
Pros:

Just spent two weeks there on my own. Thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and found the hotel better than my expectations having read previous reviews.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was acceptable - for a low budget all inclusive hotel I always found something to eat.

The best thing was that a quarter of all guests were on their own so I didn’t feel like Jonny-no-mates eating alone.

As a naturist I loved the naturist rooftop area, though it’s not well publicised ( accessed by external stairs next to room 368) however it’s a very long way from the bar so take everything up with you!

The spa area is very nice but always deserted. I’m sure it is the 15 euro charge that puts people off. It’s worth noting that there is also a dedicated naturist sauna down there.

It was interesting see that the hotel shop is chocca block with things which would appeal to children - why, given it’s an adult only hotel? There are two mini markets within five minutes walk if you want cheaper water or milk, both with very friendly staff.

As others have said, the main centre is very poor and a long walk away. However it is possible to hire a Bird Scooter which I did several times. There’s a rank of them at the bottom of the hill (turn left out of the hotel, 3 minutes walk). I used these to get to the far ends of the resort where there are designated parking places from where I walked along the coast.

On several occasions I took the bus to Morro Jable. The bus stop is a 15 minute walk downhill from the hotel. It gets very busy so it’s not always possible to get the first one, but they run every half hour. Morro Jable has all the things you expect from a major resort - designer shops etc, and a wonderful beach around a lighthouse.

To summarise, there is nothing wrong with the hotel. It suited me as a single traveller and the quiet location didn’t bother me. It wouldn’t suit people staying in a bed and breakfast basis as there’s nowhere locally for dinner.

Cheerful, fun and well priced
Pros:

This is a great place for singles, couples and groups. Being adults only there is a general acceptance of being able to chat to others you dont know. This was my second time there and I loved it.

Staff were, as always friendly (big shout out to Melany, Salamio and of course Marco, the entertainment guy.

There are squash courts, table tennis, basketball, sauna and spa, swimming pools , pool tables within the hotel area

Drinks are plentiful. There are plenty of choices for food - always fresh cooked meat (the steaks were brilliant) including fresh meats and fish. There is always plenty of freshly baked bread, fresh fruit and salad.

As mentioned elsewhere the service at the bars could sometimes be faster, but then if clients took their empty glasses back then the bar staff would not need to stop serving to collect and wash them

Rooms were clean and pleasant and could be cleaned every day if you wish

Whilst there we had a lots of conversations about music beside the pool. I think it could do with some background music as white noise to stop conversations being overheard (or the sound of me puffing and panting whilst swimming)

Thanks again to Marco - I had never had the courage to do Karaoke before , (and apologies if I took over somewhat). Even more apologies to Tom O'Dell and those that had to endure me singing it - I have totally ruined it for them

things to do outside
Market on wednesday and sunday morning
hire a bike from bike shops nearby - there are loads of gravel paths so an e-bike is a blast here
water sports both north and south of the time
electric scooters for hire

Nightmare
Pros:

Total isolation, nothing outside the hotel no supermarkets, sports bars, zero, if you wish to watch your favorite football team forget, all you have is people drinking all day and at night then listen all morning to the intimacy screaming in the early ours, the worst holiday i have ever had in my life.

Couldn’t Have Chosen a Better Place!
Pros:

We stayed at this hotel with a group of friends to celebrate my best friend’s 40th birthday, and honestly, we couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, I truly felt looked after and valued as a guest.

The staff across the entire hotel were exceptional, from the restaurant team to reception and the bar staff. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making sure we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Their positive attitude really made a difference and created such a welcoming atmosphere.

A special mention goes to Marco from the entertainment team. He was absolutely amazing! He has a rare talent for engaging with guests in a natural and respectful way, making everyone feel included without ever being overwhelming. He added so much fun and energy to our experience.

The spa facilities were also outstanding: high quality, relaxing, and a real highlight of our stay. It was such a pleasure to spend time there and unwind.

This hotel made our celebration truly memorable, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

4 night getaway
Pros:

Ignore the negative reviews
After initially reading the reviews before my travel I was starting to regret booking the hotel however the hotel was lovely, welcoming and clean, all staff was great !
I admit with hotel you get what you pay for if your wanting a top draw hotel then you have to pay for it, for the cost of this hotel it’s worth every penny.
Pools- 2 outdoor pools are freezing however 1 is heated and bearable for a cool off. Plenty of sun loungers no early get ups.

Food- very repetitive and not the warmest but it’s not bad or a negative by a long stretch, breakfast is great !

Entertainment- evening entertainment every night which is of decent standard run by the same guy who does the day time activities, if anything I have to say he focuses more on the older clientele, the whole holiday he didn’t approach me or my wife (we are in our early 30’s) to participate in any activities but instead goes over to older guests to chat away and see if they wish to join in.

Conclusion
Fantastic value for money
Clean
Okay food and drink
Entertainment okay
Relaxing break

Would I return ?
Yes for a short break 4-7 nights max due to the food being repetitive

A wonderful stay
Pros:

After reading the negative reviews of this Hotel I was obviously anxious about my stay as a Solo traveller for the first time.
Everywhere was great…Reception staff were extremely welcoming and I was immediately put at ease.
My room was lovely..Clean and comfortable.
This particular Hotel IS a good walk away from the small Costa Calma local centre but it’s a lovely walk to the Beach if you’re mobility is good…A taxi back up the hill is €10 if you include your tip.
I would return as I felt safe there & met some lovely people 🫶🏻

Clean, friendly, good facilities. Food fine.
Pros:

So our experience was - fabulous. Hotel occupancy was off season levels so not crowded. Rooms clean and airy -we had a balcony view. Rooms were cleaned daily. Everything worked. Kettle hired from reception. Staff very friendly and helpful. 3 pools - one a decent size the others fine. Not heated though but swimmable end of January. Pool area was well maintained and spotless. We had no issues with loungers or overcrowding. There is evening entertainment if that's what you like. It will be basic - but not our thing so can't comment. Spa area you pay extra for even if you are all inclusive. The drinks in all inclusive were fine - you are not going to get top end drinks on all inc so don't expect. But prosecco, gin, wine and lager all fine. Cocktails provided. 3 bars so drinks available almost all day. Food - reading the reviews we were expecting the worst. It was very good. Loads available really well cooked loads of choice even for one of our party who is vegetarian. We gave the food 8/10. Little shop is there if you need to buy a chocolate bar.

The negatives. Hotel is not near the beach. Its a good 25 min walk to the main beach. There are NO shuttle buses. But taxis came at 5 mins notice and were very cheap - around 5 euros per trip. The main commercial centre is the other side of the the town - would be a a 30-40 min walk. It not worth visiting except it has a Spar, couple of restaurants and decent coffee - a lifeline. Because by far the worst thing at the hotel was the coffee. Why hotels put these awful powder machines in this day and age is beyond me. Absolutely vile. Take your own.

Costa Calma is great if you don't want night life - want a fabulous beach, want to do water sports or swimming and have a chilled experience. Do you research before you book. It suited us perfectly.

Overall the hotel is probably 3.5 stars - the coffee drags it down. if you get it at a decent rate, accept that its a bit inland with not much round it then you will be fine.

Average
Pros:

I would describe the hotel as 3 stars not 4 stars. The hotel itself is clean, rooms lovely and spacious with a nice pool area and spa. The area is very quiet with not a lot around but perfect for a relaxing break.
The food is awful. We were all inclusive. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, but everything was bland and lukewarm. I am a fussy eater but my friend who isn’t agreed that the food was below par.
The drinks were okay, a few cocktails on the inclusive were a bonus.
The only downside to the spa which we used multiple times was you had to pay €15 for 2 hours use. Even when we booked a massage for €60 it was expected we pay an extra €15 to use the facilities. Otherwise it was a lovely relaxing spa and the massage was lovely.
Overall I did enjoy the stay however it was average and not sure I would rush back.

Good value for money
Pros:

First impressions of this hotel are good. But there are some areas I could find fault with.

The bedrooms have been partly upgraded, with a walk-in shower, but the sink is original as are the blue floor files throughout. That said, there were serviced daily, with fresh white towels and the sheets changed again mid-week. They did let our shampoo shower gel dispenser run out by the sink. Thankfully, there was enough in the dispenser in the shower to use, but that was getting very low too. Plentiful supply of toilet rolls (unlike their sister KN Arenas del Mar in Tenerife where you had to beg for one!).

Plenty of places to sit in reception, where the evening bar is - but the seats are faux leather and some had split, so looked unsightly - there is also loads of seating on the floor below reception, but I never saw anyone sitting there.

Communal area cleaning could be better. The corridor to our room had a sticky floor, from people taking drinks back to their rooms presumably. It genuinely wasn't cleaned all week. Yet I saw the floor buffer machine used elsewhere.

Special shout out to Riso who worked in the snack bar and restaurant. Such a welcoming, friendly lady. A true ambassador for the hotel. Bryan on reception was equally excellent in explaining everything when we checked in.

The restaurant for lunch and dinner always had a lovely selection of salad, plenty of cheese, soup, pasta and sauce. But the hot selection generally wasn't hot (there is a microwave) and items that didn't go with anything else. Stir fry and meats were over salted. That said, you won't starve ... if management are reading this, please ensure that there is sufficient bread selection (the brown seeded baguette often ran out), top up the cake as that can run down to virtually nothing and please open both (not just one) coffee machines every breakfast, as the queue by the buffet can be a mile long. Oh, and please put some milk in the machine so your cafe con leche doesn;t come out black .... one massive bonus though is there is proper British back bacon every breakfast!

The snack bar operates a 1 Euro plastic cup policy. Not a problem, but if you are sitting in that area or the glass sided terrace you can have a proper glass. Personally, I would avoid the snacks in there. Out for hours, curled up and goodness knows how hygenic it is to eat.

Marco is the Animation guy. Been in the job 3 weeks although it doesn't show. A group of us walked down to the market and the beach with him. He manages the entertainment around the pool and also the evening entertainment. Nice man.

Costa Calma really is quiet. The first couple of days we thought it was too quiet, then as we explored, we gradually found life. But the hotel is definitely situated at the wrong end of the resort. There is more life at the far end of the beach, with a couple of Spar and Hiper Dino supermarkets, bars, restaurants and shops.

Mocasas is a Chinese owned shop about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It sells everything and anything. Worth a look. Turn left out of reception, then take the first left down the hill. Follow that road until you see a brown run down mini market on the left, continue on that road until the t-junction. Turn right and at the next junction there is a small shopping complex on the right. It's in there.

Instead of turning right to Mocasas, turn left up to the roundabout. There is a market on the other side of the road on a Wednesday and Sunday. If you follow that tree lined avenue all the way up to the top, it's nicer than the parallel road. At the top, turn left and cross the road following it up until you can turn left. That will take you down to the far end of the beach. There are public toilets there.

All in all we had a good week. If the price is right, we might go back. The hotel is perfectly ok, but the location is definitely not the best.
