Very calm location, if you’re younger it does get boring no music! But you do have Marco he does the entertainment his amazing makes the experience so much better!! Rooms are nice, food was good but tend to have the same foods each day! Bar closes early too but 1 thing overall all the staff are amazing made everything easy and peaceful ❤️
There isn’t much to do in Costa Calma so if you want to go to de-stress and chill this is the place to be. This hotel was perfect had everything you need and the staff are super friendly, the food was good too lots of variety. Three very clean pools and hotel spotless. There were lots of solo travellers and the hotel felt very safe. Beautiful beech and nightlife 20 minutes walk away. Feeling very re-charged now - thank you for a lovely stay.
This place isn't everyone's cup of tea and wasn't ours, the room was large and spacious as a positive and staff are brilliant, but needs updating properly as they have just painted over the cracks to update this hotel and is showing already, this hotel charges extra for use of a safe and kettle and the indoor spa and no shaver socket? 4 star? Just two single beds pushed together which both needed a new mattress really, and extra covers in wardrobe you wouldn't want to touch let alone sleep in , the walls are paper thin (better hope you don't get a noisy neighbour) can hear full conversations and toilet activities. air con didn't work, bathroom stunk of sewage every morning, but did have a powerful shower that was nice, room wasn't the cleanest we found dirty underwear and socks left from a previous guest which was a lovely welcome. Pool area is nice and probably the only area of hotel they try to keep clean, rest is cigarette nubs and dust balls main areas just arnt cleaned very well. 60 percent of sun loungers need a good clean, hard to find one you don't feel gammy on. Food.. nice selection if your not a vegetarian, cheeses and desserts become sameish. It's luke warm and left out from hours though, the snack bar is just left over lunch and some dinner is clearly lunch redressed as a different item. Not the worst place in the world but definitely won't be coming back.
I booked this holiday four days before I went so was slightly concerned when I got around to reading the reviews on this site. My main concerns were reports of it being unsafe for solo females, poor food choices and being a long distance from the beach, I can confirm that I found none of the above during my week there.
For a three star hotel I found the food to be good, at breakfast there was lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, usual continental as well as all the hot food - there was delicious back bacon served daily. At lunch and dinner there were always plenty of options including fresh salad, breads, grilled meats and fish, chips, various potato dishes and vegetable dishes and pasta along with the various other dishes they’d cooked that day. I dined at varying times and never found the food not warm enough or dried up, it was frequently replenished.
The drinks are self service in the restaurant which I prefer and the all inclusive at the other bars is from 11am until 11pm which is fairly standard across all inclusive hotels I’ve found so don’t worry about the reviews stating that there are additional charges for drinks. The additional charges are for premium branded drinks plus if you want to order drinks after 11pm. If you’re a cava lover like me you’ll be content whilst there, I also enjoyed the white and rose wine which was dry.
The gym was fairly basic with cardio equipment and dumbbells but served its purpose.
The spa was relaxing and cost £15 for two hours however if you travel with Jet2 your first visit is free.
Pool towels are provided and can be changed as often as you require. The pool area doesn’t open until 10am and no one reserves sun beds so you can come and go as you please throughout the day.
I chose not to socialise with others and was not hassled by anyone and felt very safe, however if you want to mix with others it’s the perfect hotel to do so.
The evening entertainment was ok, the two singers I saw were good and I was fortunate enough to be there a week when all the singers on karaoke night were really good. I gave bingo and the other animation guy led nights a miss.
The hotel was clean with friendly, approachable staff. The week I was there the hotel guests were predominantly British which isn’t my preference, however I know some people like this.
The hotel is on a hill however it is not as steep as I was expecting after reading previous reviews. The route I took to the beach was exactly one mile and took less than twenty minutes to get there. I walked the length of the beach and back several times, it was picturesque with lots of toilets and several bars on it.
The local market on Sunday and Wednesday was big and less than fifteen minutes walk from the hotel (it’s on route to the beach) I recommend having a Chinese massage there, it was well worth the wait and sorted out my knotted shoulder blades.
Don’t be put off by negative reviews, it is a three star hotel and advertised as being in a quiet location. If you want lots of choice of restaurants and bars then this hotel is not for you.
The hotel was very good food was excellent plenty of choices was very clean and staff were friendly the down side was there was very little to do and poor evening entertainment . Overall it was good value for money
Bit far from the sea. Facilites ok, nice spacy room but very vague instructions given how to get there, had to go back to the reception to ask again. Food looks, and that is the key word - LOOKS -good but in fact everything is cold. All the food served here is 'pocket' warm which doesn't meet the regulatury standards. Even though bought all inclusive, I will refuse to eat here!
Nice clean and pleasant hotel. Opted for all inclusive and was not disappointed, good choice of foods and drinks for the duration of our stay. The staff were nice and friendly. Our room had a lovely balcony with good views and comfy beds. We regularly used the gym, although there were free weights, running machines and bikes there weren't actual weight machines. The area itself, Costa Carma is very quiet with not much going on, you would be disappointed if you wanted a lively place with shops, bars and restaurants. Being all inclusive was beneficial. Would definitely stay again at the hotel if we were to return to Costa Carma
Not fully all inclusive as advertised. After a certain time, you have to pay for drinks so it’s semi inclusive. Booked as a 4 star, subsequently hotel has been downgraded to 3. Rooms are ok but the walls are paper thin. You can hear other rooms flushing their toilet and showering. The food is very poor. Minimal selection and the temperature is tepid at best. Bar is not good either. When the bar is closed, you have to walk up 2 flights of stairs with your drinks from the snack bar. The only good thing about this place is that the staff are friendly and that’s about it. Safe in room and AC doesn’t work. We’ve eaten out as the food is that bad, not what you want if you’re ’’all incisive’. Don’t book here, book a proper all inclusive hotel.
This was my first stay at an all-inclusive hotel, lovely hotel, had a twin room which was clean with its own patio area and private sunbeds. Food was buffet-style eat as much as you wanted, good quality and free-flowing beer and wine until 11pm with good nightly entertainment. Staff were great hosts too, and the room was cleaned daily.
However after 11pm the entertainment and the free bar ended and there was little else to do as there were no bars or clubs nearby, and the town centre of Costa Calma was half an hour walk away.
Nearest beach was 18 minutes walk away and well worth a visit.
Very quiet at the hotel, but I found it a bit too quiet.
Nonetheless it was definitely good value for money, and for the last week of February the weather was fantastic except for one day when it was showery.
Marco is a brilliant friendly person, encourages all guests to get involved in all activities
Works very hard and long hours
Just had a week at hotel room was fine very large bathroom think it was for disabled users had rails over toilet and shower chair. Bed was comfy but pillows were soft as anything so we asked for more which was no issue. Tv channels only bbc world news awful to watch repeatedly all day long no other English channels lucky we have a hard drive with films on which connect to tv and there was music radio channel’s to listen to.
We did the spa twice in the week the weather was not good windy and cloudy with spots of rain so the spa was awesome nice indoor pool and facilities this cost 15 euros each for 2 hours. The hotel is 20 mins to beach downhill there isn’t much in Costa Calma except long beach.
Food was good we had no issues could have had more options for vegetarians but we managed every meal time to find something. Lovely staff that we encountered had a lovely week let down buy the weather.
Marco, Rose and everyone in the reception really made us feel welcomed and did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible, Marco recommended for us to come back for more karaoke which was one of the best parts of the holiday, 10/10 will definitely be coming back!
I just need to get away to relax somewhere in the sun and read books as I am 76 but still working and booked this a year ago. Adults only and quite small so you get to know plenty of people because you meet them in all areas of the resort. Very clean and although staff seems to be minimum they work SO hard and seem to do double shifts. The Deep pool--there are 3--was fantastic for my needs --salt water. The gym needed a few maintenance issues being resolved but reclining cycle could still be used. Food was hit and miss in some areas and if the management read this -I would take the Lamb chops off the menu as totally inedible and tough--BUT the pork leg with the best crackling I have ever had was amazing. There is BACK BACON every morning -fantastic. NO HONEY though! There is something for everyone and very, very clean . The machines for your morning drinks cause a que at times but still no problem. I did have a problem with the very hard mattresses which caused my hips to become really painful and sleep was not good--but as i was leaving I mentioned this at reception and said I would come again but for the mattresses--I was told that they could have been changed--WHY OH WHY --did I not mention at the start of my 2 weeks!! There is a spa but 10 euros a time. If the management read this I would offer a set of ten visits for 50 euros --as it was always empty and I would have loved to have had the opportunity to have spent some time there but 10 euros a visit was just too much to pay, but I would have been willing to have had a pass for 50 euros. There was a nudist roof-but never visited as a 76 year old woman--not a pretty site but if I had had a partner I would have given it a go! Entertainment was dire--day and evening --but broadband excellent so I watched Netflix on my computer most nights. The bedrooms very clean and they have amazing strong, hot showers.
All in all for a very small good hotel at very reasonable all inclusive prices you could not do better--just ask for different mattresses if needed. Long way to walk to sea front but no problem for me as I stay in resort. Manager VERY hands on and friendly--and SO----I HAVE BOOKED AGAIN FOR NEXT JANUARY--knowing the mattress problem can be resolved. I have to mention the hotels cat Simba--he is really a lovely pussy ,clean and friendly--miss him. Pool towels in room can be exchanged during your stay at reception, where staff were again amazing.
It my first time here . I’m really enjoying the atmosphere and the hospitality that comes with it . Marco was so helpful in making my stay extra comfortable. I definitely would recommend coming to here with your partner
First ever holiday Really enjoyed the 5 days I spent here, staff were very friendly, food was okay, drinks were lovely, entertainment was the best part, Marco is very good he loves to keep the crowd entertained from morning to night
Had an enjoyable stay here, meeting some lovely fellow Brits as well. From check in (Davide) was extremely helpful and friendly, as were all staff encountered, until check out.
The hotel cleanliness was fine, room’s cleaned daily. The room comfortable with a fridge, safe and good Wi-Fi.
Food generally was pretty good, at breakfast, lunch and evening meal so no complaints. Plenty of choice!
People used the outdoor pools and were happy in doing so. I didn’t but was slightly disappointed the indoor pool carries a charge because it’s also a spar.
Bar service was generally good, the odd queue occasionally in the evening bar, but never really encountered too long a wait.
Would I return? Possibly. Only because the hotel is very remote and not many other bars immediately near should you fancy a drink out. The hotel, facilities and staff though were fine.
Amazing holiday I would 100% recommend going here, we took my disabled mother and they were more than helpful with every aspect, the staff were great especially Marco, Javi, Rachin, Salami, Alberto, Rossi.we will definitely be returning here for another holiday.
It's was great time in the hotel. Marco, Javi, employees in the hotel It's was nice to meet them. I spent very good time.
Don’t believe the negative reviews.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and, most of all, welcoming.
The food is good with plenty of choice, even if the restaurant has a canteen feel but this is a three star hotel. The hotel is in a quiet location at the back of Costa Calma. It’s about a 1/2 hour walk to the beach, but I didn’t go. I stayed for 5 days for a ‘drop and flop’ holiday. The hotel is perfect for such a break. Plenty of sun beds round the three pools. Only one of the smaller pools is heated but I like swimming in cooler water so it suited me and the biggest of the pools was lovely.
I had a clean and comfortable room at the back of the hotel. I hired the safe in my room for my stay. Whilst I had no view, it was very quiet. Some had ground floor rooms with sun beds and should I return (which is very likely) I would request one of those.
The spa is good and an unexpected bonus.
The staff were unfailingly helpful, the manager much in evidence checking everything was up to standard.
As a single woman I felt perfectly safe in this hotel. I enjoyed the food and came back home relaxed.
