Nice hotel but could be better
Pros:

Location was nice although the only good view was from the restaurant of the lake our room overlooked the carpark

Nice setting but tired rooms and way too expensive for what you get.

Cons:

The rooms were very tired and old fashioned. The bar staff were lazy and just couldn’t be bothered. We were refused service at one bar as we were with a wedding party, but the other bar only had 2 members of staff and didn’t have the cider on draft that the other bar did. We were not offered any alternative and just told this is all we have. Ridiculous policy to have a bar open and staffed and yet be refused service? No way to run a business and to make us feel so unwelcome.

A good quality hotel with a beautiful view but overpriced as pool use is extra.

Food freshly cooked at breakfast.The bedroom’s beautiful view.

Cons:

The staff in the view were slow to acknowledge that you were waiting to be seated and several walked past us without acknowledging us.The breakfast was lacking a fruit selection. I found it really disappointing that for my husband and I to swim in the hotel pool for an hour would cost £60!

Pleasant stay in hotel that holds precious memories.
Pros:

It's changed quite a bit from my last stay. Room was lovely and the reception team and spa team were wonderful. Welcome was warm and informative, room was a nice size. The spa was just how I remembered it, albeit a little run down now with some flaking tiles, etc and considering this isn't included in your stay and was an extra, I expected it to be in better condition. Non the less views are great, and hot tub was lovely!

Cons:

The whole stay was overall very good. When it came to eating in the restaurant some of the team seemed lacking in urgency, with long gaps between a coffee or cold drink request and it manifesting. The menu was very slim. And in comparrioson to the fine dining menu not massively different. The breakfast was nice and morning team were much more on top of things. The sausage seasoning totally overpowered the flavour of the full English.
