Ok but not desperate to go back
Pros:

Lovely location, very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious bathrooms. Nice view from room balcony (but too cold to be out for long!)

Cons:

Bedrooms were a bit "tired", in particular a lot of the wooden furniture was in poor condition. Rooms were also very hot. Bed generally comfortable but pillows were very hard

Fantastic 2 night break at The Coniston Hotel!
Pros:

Very welcoming at reception, helped with all of our requests. Very friendly staff, including the lovely little dogs! Great estate for walking our dog, extremely scenic views, got to be the hotel with the best views in England!! Loved seeing the swans on the lake. Evening waiting staff were friendly and helpful in the view restaurant. Very large, comfortable bed and plenty of space in the room. Very quiet location, very relaxing and restful. Really felt like a proper break away. Fantastic breakfast! Will definitely be staying again! Thankyou.

Cons:

Unfortunately, there was a lady that worked at breakfast time, her manner was quite abrupt, seemed like she just wanted to finish her shift and get home. We actually heard her say to another member of staff "only 10 minutes to go!" All the other breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive. Only other thing, we would have loved to use the spa facilities, if it had been a little more affordable for us.

Some good points but didn’t match expectations from the descriptions
Pros:

The setting with a nice walk around the lake. Reception were excellent and the room was comfortable

Cons:

No safe in the room, no night lock, poor food at lunch time, better in the evening. Lack of fruit, nuts and cereals at breakfast. Most of the staff in the dining room were very good, but one was rather abrasive

Nice but expensive
Pros:

Really nice place, grounds are very pretty for a walk.
Hotel staff were really lovely and accommodating

Cons:

We booked a standard room and it was quite expensive for 2 nights. Unfortunately there were flies all over the room so I asked to change rooms and we were given a superior room, which was much nicer.
The staff were very apologetic and accommodating.

Room types
Pros:

Location,and grounds and the scenery

Cons:

That on booking.com it gave me a photograph of the room I booked with was not the room that I got even tho the hotel was correct to put me in there so basicly room type was correct but the pictuers of the rooms were not selling me something completely different.
