Issue with Room Cleanliness at Check-in – Booking 6367906025 – Tim Grooten

Hi,
We would like to raise a concern regarding our stay at Aspen Village from 4-7th of March 2026.
When we checked into our original room 23, the bed was not properly cleaned as it was clearly used, stained, and full of hair. Additionally, there were no water boiler in the room although there's tea options available. Considering the booking was made a week in advance and we arrived around 9 p.m., we expected the room to be properly prepared for a stay.
After reporting this, we were moved to another room 42 that is supposedly an upgrade. However, in reality this room is significantly more confined and lacks several basic utilities: the shower space is extremely small, and the bathroom layout makes it difficult to even sit comfortably on the toilet, the kitchen has too little equipment for proper use. This does not feel like an upgrade at all.
We both fully understand that issues can happen, but cleanliness and a fair room replacement are basic expectations. Unfortunately, this experience has been quite disappointing so far.
We would therefore appreciate a proper solution or compensation for the inconvenience. Otherwise, we will have to reflect this experience honestly in our review.

We know it is off-season but we didn’t see any staff at our hotel.
Pros:

Equipped kitchen. The view.

Cons:

Fireplace didn’t work. TV didn’t have local news, weather and sports that we could figure out. No extra pillows.

Great central location. Updated and clean bathroom.

Cons:

The floors were clean but under the beds was very dusty. From the arm chairs opposite the bed you have a very clear view under the beds and could easily see all the dust.

Pros:

The room was clean, the hotel was well situated. There was a direct access to the room so that was nice. The staff was helpful

Cons:

The staff didn't come in the room to bring more towels or take off the trash, even if we were 3 people in the room. My hairdryer was broken before I had the change to use it. Even if they accepted to give me another one, I couldn't dry my hair before going to sleep because staff is on site only until 10pm.

It was short and convenient stay. The place could use some washroom and window cleaning.

The place served our purpose for a last minute booking.
Pros:

Rooms were adequate, newly renovated, not luxury but done nicely. Beds were comfortable & clean, nice simple bathroom, nice kitchenette.
Staff were great, knowledgeable, friendly etc. Parking was good too.

Cons:

Cons: room very warm, no ac. Window couldn't be left open as there were people having a good time, making it difficult to sleep but it all worked out.
Door to 1 of the rooms(#42) seemed dated but locked fine

Pros:

Aspen Village was centrally located to the downtown business area. They let us check in early which was great. The staff were responsive and appreciated that they refunded us a night when we decided to leave a day earlier.

Cons:

The room could of been cleaned better and lacked A/C that made the room a bit hot at this time of the year. It was a busy labor day weekend so there was a loud group we could hear outside of our room, past quiet hours, that made falling asleep more difficult. The room felt expensive for what you got but priced this way on a holiday weekend in a touristy spot.

Very comfortable, enjoyable and peaceful
Pros:

Room was great with the lobby outside with patio chairs/ bench were great to enjoy coffee during the rain;
Beds were comfortable and spacious; Very clean room
Staff were friendly and very helpful

Cons:

There was no curtain on the 2nd window of the room near the washroom and the back alley light was shining through the window. Same with the light outside the 1st big window, curtains could not block it out at night time.
There was no hand soap in the bottle mounted in the wall of the bathroom sink.

Front door had large gap that insects and likely mice could come into room. Used a towel to stiff in the gap at night.
