Important information:

From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Please note that hotel policy requires Muslim couples checking in to produce a marriage certificate upon arrival at the hotel. Kindly contact the hotel's front desk for further information.

Stones throw away to great food
Pros:

Close to all the amazing food George Town has to offer. Staff was super chill.

Cons:

The bathroom floor was a bit hard to keep fully dry. Perhaps a rubber floor blade. Bathroom shower head is not detachable.

Quiet location yet close to everything.
Pros:

We had 5 nights here. The property is in Jalan Chulia, but set far back from the street surrounded by a high wall so it is secure and quiet. There is also a security guard on duty and cameras. The location is wonderful. Close to the street food at night, Bus 294 to the Kek Loh Si temple and Bus 101 to the beaches at Batu Ferringhi are a few minutes level walk to Penang Rd. Easy walk to Armenian Street. Rooms are spacious and have a good bed (like a futon mattress) . We liked having a closet to hang outer things.

Cons:

The bathroom is cramped with the shower, toilet and basin getting soaked when you shower.

Good value stay in the heart of George Town
Pros:

Considering the average price of around €30 per night, the stay was good value for money. The location is definitely the strongest point – right in the center of the old town, with most places of interest reachable within 10–15 minutes on foot. The hotel was generally clean, and for a short stay of three nights it was perfectly functional. Overall, it did the job for a budget-friendly stay in Penang.

Cons:

Since the hotel is on one floor and all rooms face the reception area inside the main lobby, it can sometimes get a bit noisy, especially at night. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but it’s something to keep in mind. Also, I would personally only recommend it at this price point – I wouldn’t consider it if the rate were significantly higher than €30 per night.

Bathroom everything was wet through when someone had a shower and because air-conditioning went off when nobody in the room it didn't dry and the fridge couldn't get cold because electric kept going off

From about 6.45am the noise from the staff talking loud slamming doors dragging mop buckets dropping the brush or mop was so loud it wakes everyone up
