Super 8 by Wyndham Saskatoon Near Downtown

Room was dirty, cigarette burns in the sheets, door was brocken , lock was snapped in half, tv did not work. Beds were sacked out. It smelt, shower head sprayed water everywhere . Parking lot smelt like pee and had garbage everywhere. Lots of people walking around did not feel safe

The bed is not bad

The whole building had an awful smell. Our room was disgusting. It smelled gross! There were stains on the bed sheets, including one that looked like blood. The mattress was sunken in, obviously very old. There were stains on the curtains. The carpet was torn with a mess of torn out strings and hadn’t been vacuumed. The bathroom was dirty, hadn’t been cleaned. There was some sort of dark dander on the toilet seat and floor. The lights in the room didn’t work, one lamp didn’t have a bulb or shade. There was some sort of alarm going off in a maintenance room next to us that no one was attending to. After we realizing what the hotel was like we decided to leave. Spoke with the lobby staff and told them why and that we wanted a refund. They couldn’t give us a refund because we booked through Booking.com.
I told them that the room looked NOTHING like what was shown on the booking site. Which is FALSE ADVERTISING!!
I honestly can’t believe that place was in that bad a shape. Looked like something you would see with an hourly rate advertised. To think that it’s a “Super 8 Wyndham blows me away. Also, that super 8 is ok with employing people to work in such dismal conditions is really sad.
Never again will I use Booking.com and never again will I stay at a Super 8 ANYWHERE! I will be telling everyone I know about my experience and will recommend they never stay at a super 8.
Also, there was no way to contact the hotel staff prior to booking, I would be forced to use a call centre to speak with someone who knows nothing about the hotel to book over the phone if I wanted to.
Please make this right and issue a refund.

Services, cleanliness, smell in the hotel in general. Very poor room standards.
All furniture is worn out and the bed has a big stain on it.

The area is rather shady. Apparently many of the people in the neighbourhood are homeless and suffer from addictions or severe mental illness. Security lady at the MRI clinic, which I visited the day before my MRI told us to be very careful, stick to the Main Street and be aware of your surroundings at all the time. She also said to be careful of people carrying machetes, although I wondered if that was a bit of an exaggeration. I did walk from my hotel from my appointment at 6:30 AM, it was light out and I could see a few people sleeping in doorways, but in the end, there was no problem.
When we arrive to check in time at two there was a big sign at the desk that said no check-in till 3 o’clock, which left us somewhat panicky, especially when we phoned, and there was no answer, but the front desk lady did appear at 1:58 o’clock.
There is a breakfast included, Polo it was quite modest. There was a paper bag with box of juice, an orange or an apple, muffin and reasonable coffee from an urn check out was an eventful and a cold for a cab to get us to the airport. It was a $20 fair to the airport.
There are two super hotels in Saskatoon. The driver taking us from the airport got lost despite me giving him the address and the Fehr ended up being closer to $40. There is a restaurant about 100 m away on 22nd St. called the blue diamond was clean, quite reasonably priced. The menu was buried, and the food was reasonable salty for my taste.

Area didn’t feel safe. Staff at front desk weren’t very helpful. No luggage carrier was ever found & we were told that they had to look in every room for it then did nothing. After waiting 15 minutes we decided to make several trips to our room. 1st room, sheets were dirty, never changed. 2nd room shown stunk like spoiled milk. The room we decided on seemed to have clean sheets, had a dirty faucet, broken screen so we couldn’t open the window, dirty curtains, no freezer in fridge. No cold water out the bathroom tap.
