Excellent location and great views. We enjoyed the onsen and free ice cream. Some of the Chinese staff were rude
Great staff, check bath schedule! Men and women rotate months
it's clean and comfortable. reduce one star since the hall way smells odor
All staff was courteous, polite, and very helpful
I stayed for four nights at this hotel while visiting Tokyo and in particular the Asakusa area. The hotel was a few minutes walk from the nearest train station, and from the. Sensoji Temple and surrounding shopping and dining areas. The cost of the room was very reasonable and the location was perfect. As with most Japanese hotel rooms, they are very small compared to western hotels but managed to do the job. The staff was very helpful with check-in and checkout was speedy. I did eat the breakfast buffet once at the hotel despite having a willing pallet, the selection for an average westerner was fairly slim. There are countless restaurants within a few minutes, walk of the hotel. The bed was extremely hard. I have no problem with the hard mattress, but it felt like it was a thin layer of padding on top of plywood. The pillows were very much like thin sandbags. Made for a very difficult night sleep.
I liked all the ammentities that the hotel had to offer. Even had access to the onsens a few blocks away if you wanted more than the SPA that the hitel had to offer.
Excellent service and friendly staff, especially the man with the glasses who works nights! He helped us book a tour and always helping us with our questions!
Awesome, we forgot his name.
Staff at the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly.
Dormy staff were very friendly and helpful.
Tasty food and snacks. Public bath and spa room of easy access.
The only disadvantage is the difficulty to connect/cast to in-room TV using personal devices.
Average property and breakfast but great location and accessible to transportation and around area
of Asakusa! Great food options as well!
Staff was very friendly as well!
The staff are super welcoming and friendly. Rooms are a bit tired but the facilities make up for it. It was a perfect starter hotel for nervous newbies! We would stay again.
Love the free ramen at night and onsen.
Although the room is on the small side, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the property, the deliciousness of breakfast more than make up for it.
We stayed for 2 nights.
Easy to find, close to asakusa station and the big don q.
Very convenient location, great view on river side. I also like the onsen experience and free ramen at night.
This was our 4th time to stay at the Dormy Inn Express (Asakusa). This hotel is our 'home away from home' in Tokyo and we always feel very comfortable here with the rooms and staff. We always have the same high floor River View balcony room with views across the water to SkyTree and the Asahi 'golden turd'. I guess it's classified as only a 3star business hotel but it's clean and the facilities for foreign travellers are great. The decor of our room is probably late 1990s - and the room by Tokyo standards is larger than average - almost spacious. If you want a huge, sparkling 4/5star hotel with all the 'bells and whistles' this is not it. Free washing machines (x3), gas dryers, great ¥1200 breakfast, complimentary evening Ramen, complimentary bath, foot spa, massage chairs on 10th floor with views, complimentary ice-cream, complimentary Yakult, genuine, friendly and helpful English speaking staff, luggage storage and forwarding, excellent location and very close to convenience store, river cruises and the Metro.
Small room facing Sumida river. Struggled with small bathroom with little counter space and required a 1 foot step up to enter and down to exit. Could hear train noise in evening. Otherwise, a convenient location. Enjoyed the hot foot bath and complimentary ice cream on 10th floor after long day of walking.
Just 2minutes walk from exit 7 Asakusa terminus station of Ginza subway line which is connected with Matsu Department store then you come up to ground level. The hotel is at opposite side of the road. Close to Senso Hi( Asakusa Temple). Can't be upset with shopping and dining options. Our room has great view overlooking Sumida Gawa (River Similar) and facing Skytree Tower. Staffs are friendly and courteous.
The Dormy Inn Express, in Asakusa, was the most amazing way to start our trip in Japan! The three nights we spent there were beautiful. The room was nice and quiet, and we had a view across the river that was unmatched.
Member of the staff was so kind and so helpful, that it really warmed our hearts. The breakfast every morning was wonderful and traditional.
The location could not have been better. Being right on the river was fantastic. And being just a couple minutes away from the subway entrance was so convenient. In addition, we were so close to Sen Sojii Temple, and everything around it, that it just blew our minds!
Thank you!
Express Dormy Inn has friendly and helpful staff. They've got everything you need, including the best feature (in my opinion) the foot bath at level 10. We get to relax and recover our overly exhausted feet from all the walking around in Tokyo. The location is good enough, walkable to many different metro operators. The only thing I don't like is the facility/building itself is quite outdated. Clean and tidy, but outdated. Which I know it could be a deal breaker for some. And the outdatedness is the reason that I took off a star out of 5. Everything else I'm quite happy with.
