This hotel looks great in the pictures but it’s actually pretty bad looking once you get there. The lobby looks okay but the bathrooms in the lobby are small. Very slow elevator. The room I had back in April of 2022 was okay but not as nice as shown in the pics.
This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The place if filthy and everything is broken. Our bed sheets were filthy and when we spoke to reception they handed us sheets and told us to change them ourselves as they the didn’t have any staff on. The place stank of weed. The light fittings were all broken. The shower door fell off. The public areas are ridiculous. The pictures are not a representation of the hotel in the slightest. The walls in the room by the bed were filthy with splashes of bodily fluids of different colours. Stay clear.
Outdated hotel, pictures on website are old.
The room itself was clean enough, the bathroom however was a state, mouldy and a strong whiff of urine. The "waterfall" shower head decided to fall off over my head as well and smash my toe, had a crack in the fitting and had been precariously fixed, a case of not my problem ended up in my foot being badly hurt.
Came to Birmingham to celebrate my nephews engagement party which started at 5pm. Rang hotel and spoke to a lady who said dont worry you can check in at any time. So i was happy and contiued to enjoy the engagement. Me and my husband then arrived to the hotel to check in and was told sorry we overbooked and we have to cancel your room. Then they se tried to ring you and email you to let you know this. My battery was dead at this point so i had not seen this. But the cheek of it to ring and email on the day when we had travelled 3 hours to get there is Absolutely disgusting. I travelled from Essex to Birmingham and got told they were overbooked and cancelled my room and I had to drive another 3 and half hours home at night. Do not stay here!!!! Worse experience ever. Not coming back to Birmingham ever! :( booking.com and collection hotel you are a disappointment and have no customer service skills

Would of liked food on site breakfast
0 out of 5. This hotel is being used as a base for people to live. We asked the hotel about this, they denied it. We saw mothers arrive with primary aged children , in their uniforms, at home time . No breakfast. Below average welcome at reception. Rooms jaded and shabby. Photos online must be years old. We have moved all 6 delegates out of this hotel after 1 night. Reception staff didn’t care, their priority was the money. Not interested we were unhappy
We had a 2pm check in, got there at 2.30 and the room was not ready.
Rang up to book a car park space was told there would be no need as they never have a problem with parking, got there and the car park was full. Had to wait for both a room and parking.
Well not going to lie this place is bloody shocking. From tired chipped dirty paint work to mattresses in the hall way!! We were in 904 and we swear it was staff accommodation there was 2 of us and it slept 6! I to what is on booking.com it’s a flippin joke AVOID
Absolutely disgusting. Not been cleaned in months. Mould on walls. Dirty sheets. Bathroom green and black with damp. Customer service non existant. Rude ignorant staff. Refused to stay and awaiting refund.
The first couple of nights was very, very noisy, slamming of doors, men and women shouting at each other from across the corridor (they were same party).
Last 3 nights were nice peaceful. The pillows were awful, flat like pancakes but the linen was very clean, bed quite compfy.
The cleaners came everyother day, gave me clean towels every time.
I was very pleased to see a small fridge in my wardrobe (which I used). The hairdryer was fantastc, better than mine.
I went out for food everynight.
Over all it was ok, I'd go back.
I booked this hotel as it was near to where i am working the next morning, what a mistake,i checked in ,kids running up and down the corridor, kicking doors, trying door handle, hardley any bulbs working, some not in the fittings, i suspect there are homeless families living in the hotel, the kids where playing football in the corridor, the net curtains had been ripped in half,i went back onto the car park to collect my bag and had to move my car as children up to the age of around 15 years old where climbing in and out of the ground floor windows ,smashing footballs at cars and the smaller kids pelting a new tesla with stones,,after three hours i gave up as all i could smell was smoke and hear the noise of the kids running around kicking doors,i would never allow a dog to stay here, ive stayed before and it was ok,but this time never again
Dingy dated room. Toilet and bathroom silicone around tiles had mould the hand shower was broken water gushing out everywhere. Lime scale shower head. They had 2 late night wedding in a row noise and drunking people in the car park. Bed was not comfy
Disappointing as not as described on website. No restaurant. Had to ask for more teabags. No luxury toiletries or marble bathroom....no luxury whatsoever. No bathrobes and had to ask for bigger towels.
It was clean and comfortable and for what we got correctly priced ....but definitely needs to correct the description on the website.
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in
I’ll start by saying that we weren’t actually booked at this hotel & only ended up staying here because our original accommodation was overbooked - the price of our original accommodation (£130) was honoured by Booking.com but this hotel was actually £330 for our stay to make a new booking.
As we were staying during the Commonwealth Games, there really wasn’t much in the way of options for somewhere to stay - so when Booking.com offered us this, we had no option but to accept.
The hotel is in need of some serious TLC, there is no denying that - broken light shades/missing roof tiles etc. That being said, the room was fine for the 2 nights we were there. It was spacious, had ample car parking (which we could see from our room) & sufficient storage. The room also had a fridge which was much appreciated as we didn’t go out on the 2nd night so meant we could keep our drinks/food cold. The beds were clean & comfy enough.
This hotel had a bus stop directly outside which meant we had easy access to Birmingham City Centre, but we walked in too which only took around 30 minutes. There are a few pubs/restaurants in the vicinity too and a big Tesco less than 10 minutes drive away. There is no restaurant/breakfast facilities available here, which is something to be aware of. You cannot have breakfast here even if you want to.
With a chunk of money for renovations, this place could be a nice hotel. Right now, it’s average. It served its purpose for our stay (especially given the circumstances). All of the staff we spoke to were lovely and accommodating so no issues there.
I must say it did tickle me that all of the staff here seem to use various supermarket trollies to store their kit (the maids, gardener & maintenance staff all had different trollies taken from nearby supermarkets)! A very odd sight I must admit.
If I had paid the going rate of £330 for 2 nights, I would not have been happy as that is extortionate for a hotel of this standard, but for £130 (the price of our original hotel that couldn’t accommodate us) it was fine. Some of the reviews / ratings of this hotel made me really worry about what we would be greeted by, but it was all ok in the end.
Worst hotel I ever stayed in, dirty and stinky, cant get towels upon request, the light switch exploded so we were moved to another room and the light exploded there again. The maid was rude af and barged in loud every morning and on my final day they charged me 10 pounds because I checked out 5 min late
The hotel needs to be renovated right away, I could see that up grades where carried out on the bathrooms recently but the remainder of the hotel is in urgent need of repair.
Let’s be clear from the off, this hotel is not great. It’s very outdated, grubby and in need of a serious clean. The carpets don’t look like they’ve been changed in years, yet alone had a vacuum run along them. There’s cracks and holes in the walls around the hotel and the rooms. The rooms themselves are basic and moderately comfortable, but the bathrooms have barely changed in a decade by the looks of things. There’s mould in them and wonky extractor fans too, along with a shower that sounds like someone is manually hand pumping water through them.
As per other reviews, the dining facilities are non-existent. No dinner, no breakfast. The most you could eat here is a packet of crisps. When asked about this, the manager said it’s been due to Covid, but they have no intention of bringing back the restaurant any time soon. This is something that needs to be addressed on both their website and third party sites urgently, to avoid any further mislead.
It’s clear that this hotel has suffered badly from covid and is probably lucky to even still be open. The staff are all friendly enough, but like the state of the hotel, look fed up and tired.
Filthy bathroom with mould everywhere. Pieces missing from worn out furniture. Mattress awful. No breakfast on offer despite booking site saying it was. Complained and was told to write to the manager. Did so (with horror show photos) and didn’t even receive the courtesy of a reply.
