Cons:

We only stayed one night and travelled far to get there. At 1:30am an warning alarm siren went off and woke us up. Was very hard to get back to sleep and couldn't sleep well for the rest of the night. Than in the morning as we were checking out we informed the staff at the desk and got a very non-conscious apology. It was very dangerous driving out and were swapping drivers on the way home due to a lack of sleep all the way home.

A good initial base for walking up to the main range
Pros:

this was base for us to catch the lift to Eagles Nest to walk to Kosciuszcko but that lift was down, and had to walk up must of the way, a tough walk. I altered the plan to walk to Dead Horse Gap. After the difficult climb the descent was reasonable.

Facilities at the hotel we're very good as I expected - I've stayed there before - and I was happy both with the services in the hotel and in Thredbo, given the fact it's just after summer.

Magic May getaway, perfect location for hikers
Pros:

Love this place in the off season.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway in late May this is the perfect spot. The staff are fantastic and the hotel is cozy and welcoming. We particularly love the lounge and fire area. Beds are comfy. Rooms are warm. Showers are hot.
Location is fantastic for the chairlifts and the Coaster.
We hope to be back for the third year in a row!
