The Clarendon was centrally located, great value for money, clean and comfortable.
Pros:

Location and price were perfect for our needs.

Cons:

It was a shame we couldn't have a nightcap in the bar after the show, but we brought provisions as it was a week night.

It does the job, don't expect too much though
Pros:

It did the job. No where to park your car to check in, which makes it hard, as you cant drop bags off and the car park is a while away. The rooms are spacious enough for a couple of nights.

Cons:

There is no where to park your car for check in / luggage drop off. The bar down stairs can get quite noisy, and when you are walking in and out of the place there can we a-lot of drunk people near by. The rooms did not look like the photos and they weren't as clean as i expected.

Good for one night
Pros:

We only met one staff member, and that was a very lovely receptionist, who explained everything to us and even helped us relocate from the first room they put us in. The hotel is in a good location, and even though you don't have hotel parking, you do get a good deal in a nearby parking garage. I liked that the hotel owners decided to close it and give the workers a chance to celebrate Christmas and New Year with their families, an earlier heads-up would have been nice though. If you need a hotel for simply a night -its perfect.

Cons:

We only found out that the hotel amenities are all going to be closed over Christmas and New Year shortly before our stay, thanks to the receptionist informing us over the phone. We couldnt be bothered to find something else on such short notice and decided to stay with that hotel. There were still a lot of restaurants and cafés open all around it. On arrival after about two o'clock, our room was not finished yet, and we were put into another room. The rooms look actually really nice and are spacious. We switched rooms after seeing stains on the bed sheets and sitting on the bed for the first time. I don't know who created those beds, but damn...they look nice and comfortable, but they sound like a full-on working popcorn machine going off with each movement. We considered it and asked to simply switch rooms. They were understanding and helped us go to another room, which sadly had the same bed but was clean. We sucked it up but only realiesed later that they thought it would be needed to spill an entire bottle of flowery perfume on the floor in the hallway, each day. (I could have lived with it but my partners allergies were badly triggered each day because of that ). Again, it was Christmas, and we decided to be barely there anyway, but we would have definitely left if that hadn't been the case, like some of the other guests. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but it felt like they gave up on the hotel itself or didnt wanna spend much money on the upkeep of it. Instead of fixing the rooms AC, they put in a separate unit next to the bed, cut a hole in the glass of the balcony and had the AC unit outside, taking away the space for sitting and creating a puddle of water every day on the balcony because the drain was blocked. It's also incredibly loud on the balcony and not really comfortable. Please fix the elevator! (its scary as hell, and I am sure everyone that stayed there over christmas knows what I mean).

Our stay was very comfortable and staff were pleasant and helpful
Pros:

The location was excellent easy walking distance to theatre, restaurants and bars, close to harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were large and clean with a nice balcony. The bed was comfortable, even with the pub downstairs all was quiet in the room.

Cons:

A minibar in the room would have been handy.
