It was a perfect short getaway not too far from Melbourne .
Pros:

The layout of the place . Rooms set in the garden . The presentation of the original hotel, the privacy and quietness. Spa was beautiful and well appointed .

Underwhelming stay at a potentially good venue. Staff in the restaurant the problem for us.
Cons:

The restaurant was very underwhelming. The worst meal we have experienced in a long time. Chef was not interested in understanding the complaint. Tempura batter was not tempura, tiny fish portion covered up with thick oily batter. Female server had displayed an unprofessional manner the next day for the morning breakfast. If you want a good meal go elsewhere in the town.

Beautiful heritage hotel
Pros:

Gorgeous heritage hotel in Hepburn with its own small hot springs retreat, and a lovely restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay and the dine-and-bathe package! So relaxing. We loved being able to walk out the door and wander around Hepburn, too.

Cons:

The hotel fit-out is getting a tiny bit tired, just in terms of chips and wear on surfaces – as one might expect a number of years after a renovation. Didn't affect our enjoyment, but just something to note. Also the bed was very soft – which will be a plus for many people! Just highlighting it for others' information.
