Friendly staff. Restaurant is surprisingly good despite in such remote location. .
Rooms are dated. Cleaness to be improved. Difficulty to find the location as GPS pointed to a dead road and needed to reroute several times to get the correct way to the cottages.
Liked the lodge, ambience
Meals were average, no notice about the 8km gravel road entry on website, bed mattress had a roll
Lovely staff and good food. Amazing location.
Property rather dated. Furniture and fittings all a bit tired. There was a lovely big veranda which was crying out for some rocking chairs or even just comfy chairs but only had a small , uncomfortable bench set up! Such a shame. WiFi was minimal.
Sehr schön im Wald gelegen, aber dort selbst kann man nur wenig machen - ins Cradle Mountain Wandergebiet am Dove Lake sind es aber nur 25-30 Minuten zu fahren.
The best part is the proximity to the cradle mountain (about 20 mins drive), good bath and decent breakfast included.
Cabin are very spacious and surrounded by shrubs and birds visiting our balcony.
The service was a little casual. When we arrived at 8pm, the staff informed us un-apologetically that the restaurant is closed and the place has no other food option. They didn't even take/walk us to our room, just point to the general direction. I drove the SUV to a narrow driveway (the incorrect one) that had such trouble reversing then having to return to reception and ask them again. After driving for 5 hours getting to the place I was not most impressed by the welcome.
Bathroom and bed are very clean. But the balcony not been cleaned for sometime, spider webs in the high ceiling of the room.
No mobile phone reception anywhere except at the restaurant. No landline neither so we couldn't communicate with our family in the other room. The only option was to walk across in the relative dark ground. No TV nor radio in our room, if you want alone time, then it'd great. We didn't mind that too much as we are exhausted after a day hiking.
Staff interaction and communication.
We ate in the retreat restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Both were enjoyable.
The walk to the Big Tree through the rainforest was enjoyable.
The overgrowth of ferns and dead thick foliage off our verandah spoilt the ambience and surrounding view of the property and rainforest.
Disappointing there was no broom available to sweep animal droppings off the porch which we had to step over to enter.
Location was excellent if you are looking for a quite nature escape. Meals and staff were great. Comfy rooms. Walks and waterfalls excellent.
Little father from Cradle Mountain than google maps tells you.
Remoteness and quietness.
Food menu was limited and couldn’t poach eggs
Warm restaurant, breakfast good, dinner good.
The most amazing place to stay and regroup. Beautiful surrounding s and fabulous food. Definitely recommend 👌
Food was good.
Very remote some walks no longer accessible. Facilities are old and run down.
Very comfortable stay in great location and helpful staff.
A peaceful and charming lodge in remote country near cradle mountain - exactly what we were looking for. Brand new renovated bathroom in our room. Wallaby feeding in the evening is a great idea to get people around at the end of the day to see some wildlife.
The upstairs in the lodge had a stair gate which is fixed. So we had to awkwardly step over to access the upstairs, I’m sure it wouldn’t take a lot to put the stair gate on a hinge with a lock.
Everything . The room was a dream. Restaurant and food was absolutely beautiful.
There wasn’t 1 thing I didn’t like
Very magical place, very remote, which is nice.
Only thing to note, is it’s a gravel track for 15 mins from main road.
Rustic look, food and heating.
It was dusty, pillows need replacing and update lounges.
The location, how the villas are in the trees, log-cabin feel, beautiful walks
The log fire place in the room wasn’t working; the tables in the restaurant were sticky
