Pros:

This is a great lodge/cabin style property in the woods off the Generals Highway. There’s a lake and tennis and archery. People come to vacation here. We were only staying here while exploring Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon so didn’t take advantage of the facilities as much but the food and service was incredible. All meals are included and they are very high quality buffet style. The direct access bridge to the property was damaged so there was a 15 min detour via a dirt road into the woods which was a bit inconvenient but part and parcel of the whole forest experience I guess. The room was spacious and the linens were good. I would come back if I was in the area again. The staff was lovely too.

Pros:

Nice staff. Lodge had plenty of food and drinks. Food was good. Room was fairly clean. We did not swim but we did canoe at no extra charge. Lodge had plenty of board games. The beds were a little hard and the wall heater made the room warm.

Pros:

At first impression we were disappointed by the detoured road through rough terrain. Upon arrival we were expecting a more modern facility' after checking into our room, we decided to take a walk around the grounds and the lake before dinner, the area was relaxing and had many amenities available. Dinner was amazing with a choice of Salmon or skirt steak... incredible...great food with all the a compliments, Great job" overall we had a very enjoyable stay" just like staying in an awesome Boy scout camp, staff were all fantastic.

Pros:

This is an older camp in the middle of the park. The food was not good, they said breakfast starts at 7:00 but no cooked food was available until 7:30. They said a bag lunch was available if you were going off campus but they did not prepare it until 9:00 making for a late start touring the park.

Pros:

Montecito Lodge is a peaceful, rustic stay near Kings Canyon. The location is beautiful, staff are friendly, and meals are hearty. Rooms are simple but clean—don’t expect luxury, but it’s perfect if you want comfort and nature in one place.

Pros:

This property is conveniently located between Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Unfortunately, because of a washed-out bridge, the detour took us through dirt roads with plenty of bumps. Because the property does not offer any elevator in the main lodge, it is tough for older folks to carry their baggage up to the main floor and the second floor. The rooms are well aged and can use some renovation. For example, the guest room door would not allow the guest to lock the door from the inside for security. Also, there are major gap in the window of the room. For the price paid, I believe the owner of the property can afford to make some upgrade to meet normal standards for lodging. Without any question, the surrounding of the property is beautiful. However, the place definitely need more than a coat of paint to make it more attractive to its customers.

Just freakin awesome!
Pros:

When we drove in, it was already magical. The lake, buildings and cabins all as expected. We stayed in a Forest Cabin and it was awesome. The food was great and I love how they leave the left overs in the fridge incase you missed a meal because you were playing outside. They had a smore making campfire and the only fun we missed out on was archery with Knuckles. But next time! There were also cows wandering around. So cool. The staff was so amazing and helpful. The kitchen staff made sure we were well fed the whole time. Just an awesome, relaxing time. Can’t wait for this to be a yearly trip.

Pros:

The first room was good however one of the extra doors to a hallway had duct tape covering where the door handle should have been. Critter in room while sleeping proof is due to leaving out fruit overnight only to wake up and find it eaten. Was not a big issue for me however other guests may not be as tolerant.
