A lovely location and I suspect it could look lovely for a wedding venue .
Bed was lovely and comfortable with good pillows !
Everything was dated and the cleanliness wasn’t the best cobwebs on the ceiling and behind the bed was some sock and another item , shower didn’t work well , as it was only one night we coped!
Location - external appearance and grounds outstanding
Clean bed
Communication about booking in almost impossible
Standard of room and particularly bathroom pretty bad - rusty broken rubbish bin, marked furniture, hole in skirting and no sealant replacement, dirty walls and tiles, loo paper encrusted loo cleaner, no smell of any cleaning products being used, curtains don’t fit window, steep stairs with fire door at too dangerous, television didn’t work,
Very beautiful, lovely location.
Quite dated inside- although I feel reflected in the price. - incredibly hot but we were experiencing a heatwave.
Stayed there for a wedding, it was nice and the staff was friendly
We got married there 10 years ago
How it has deteriorated over the last few years. Very sad to see as it was a beautiful place
Great helpful staff, nice grounds. Had everything we needed for a quick nights stay
Bit tired
It was in a lovely quiet location, with calming gardens. The building has great charm
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Car parking on site.
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Kettle and hairdryer in the room
Plenty of tea, coffee and milk supplies in the room.
Reception was friendly, efficient and informative (Jo, manager).
Bed was clean and comfortable.
Unfortunately the room generally wasn't clean or well maintained.
The shower room in particular was dirty: dirty flooring, skirtings and shower curtain. Soap residue in shower etc.
Such a shame as the hotel is situated in a lovely quiet area.
In a lovely quiet place - handy for Manchester Airport and the business I was there to attend to.
Everything worked efficiently.
(No catering - other that a kettle in the room - was promised or provided.)
The staff - one guy - was friendly and helpful.
It was not something that bothers me, but this place would not suit anyne looking for a glitzy or ritzy location. It is well due for refurbishment.
Thursday night. June 2026. A big concert 12 miles down the road in Delamere Forest and we were the only guests . It was just surreal. But, it was very cheap and didn't pretend to be otherwise.
Well , the hotel is in a late 1970s time capsule. From the beds, decor to the furniture, TV and bathroom. The entire building does need a lot of TLC. With that in mind, it could be an absolute gem of a hotel. In the meantime it's a very rough pebble. Oh and they don't do breakfast !
Great staff.
Great location, quiet.
The single beds were so uncomfortable.
Rooms very dated.
Ideal location for what I wanted, only 10min walk to train station and then a 3min journey to town.
No food or bar facilities, just tea/coffee in room.
cleanliness of bedlinen
breakfast no bar no lift-stairs difficult to negotiate only saw staff on booking in . very steep step up into en suite-needed assistance to enter. no hot water. no chair to sit on. walls very thin, could hear occupant coughing all night.
The lady at check in was very nice and helpful
There was a smell when you walked in and up the stairs , the room itself smelt fresh though
Helpful pleasant receptionist
Comfortable bed
Very dated single room, door lock didn't work peeling wallpaper asked for toilet paper..
Needs redecorating
Shower base old and repaired paint on bathroom floor. Threadbare carpet on stairwell
