Good Spot to discover Nagoya and surrounding towns with ease.
Pros:

Location, Location, LOCATION! This is the first time I’ve visited Japan. I chose Nagoya because I have relatives who live here which is why it was my first city of choice. Kanayama is a big station but not overwhelming like Nagoya station so it’s a good balance. The station connects to a lot of lines seamlessly to get around Nagoya. I like that the hotel was close by mere walking distance but still had a secluded block where urban noise was almost non existent during my stay. There is also an AEON supermarket near by where I was able to maximize by doing evening runs where bentos and prepared foods are marked down in price around 8pm. It became a daily tradition for me to pick up a cold can of beer with discounted food from the nearby AEON supermarket.

Cons:

For the price and location I can’t really complain much but compared to other business hotels I’ve stayed in Nagoya, the hotel does show some signs of aging and have not modernized like some of the other business hotels I’ve stayed in. My first night, I got kind of confused that I had to insert the key chain of my room key for the room to fully function. It didn’t cross my mind because I usually experience this for hotels that provide a key card. The room key for this hotel is a normal metal key you insert into a knob. I should have inspected the table with instructions sooner because there are clear instructions with pictures on how to insert it so the room is fully functional.
