Really needs to be much cleaner, and for facilities / amenities to be checked before guest arrives.
Pros:

Small but warm room.

Cons:

Very dirty carpet; light bulb not working (but was replaced when I asked); toilet needs fixing. Not at all a boutique hotel - it's a few small rooms above a pub.

Excellent value for money , great location, staff were lovely
Pros:

It was close to Durham and had a restaurant we didn’t try but the food looked good and was busy which is always a good sign , our room was lovely was well stocked with tea coffee milk ect

Cons:

We couldn’t lock our door but we didn’t ask to get it looked at as we felt safe

La spada fabulous
Pros:

Very warm welcome..manager Roberto was fantastic nothing was a problem. Very busy in restaurant and lounge all Very friendly people..food was fabulous and we will be back..

Cons:

Last minute booking..rooms very basic but clean and comfortable abd no noise on an evening

Pros:

Clean tidy comfortable bed lovely room the whole place was nicely decorated and I loved all the pictures on the stairs. History of Durham. Polite hosts. Lovely outdoor seating area.

Cons:

The door didn't lock to my room, sink was coming away from the wall . The shower tray was broken and covered over with a hand towel. No toilet roll had to find some downstairs in the ladies loos, No sugar and only 3 milk pots. Just little things need attention. I would stay again and I would love to dine in the restaurant downstairs on my next visit.

Hostel of desperation.
Pros:

Left luggage temporarily in room until other accommodation was found.

Cons:

Dreaded room of doom-they can keep monies spent for non usage-rather sleep in my car overnight!

A very unpleasant experience.
Pros:

The whole experience was unpleasant. The room was small, the bathroom door didn't close properly and as it was a sliding door, and part of the room not very good. There was no plug in the wash basin, T.V had to be balanced on the only. chair as wire too short.

Cons:

All night a continual hum from air conditional unit attached to outside wall for use in the downstairs kitchen. No breakfast available. Light in corridor outside room not working so hard to unlock bedroom door. So bad we only stayed 1 night and no one to complain to.

Stay here yes definitely
Pros:

Comfortable with a homely feeling that big hotels don't have. The room was lovely, clean and had all the amenities expected but in a less formal environment. Would I recommend this hotel definitely would I book to stay again absolutely and maybe next time have a meal in the restaurant 💯

Cons:

I have booked through booking.com and when I arrived to hotel, the reception could not find my booking!? Was a bad experience all over. I won't vist this place again.

There where flys in the room 100s it was beyond disgusting the taps in the bathroom where from the 90s leaking and the bath was for somkne about 4 foot tall
