Pleasant and helpful staff.
Rooms are very old and had a stuffy/mouldy smell. Bathroom was also dilapidated.
Towels were stained and smelt weird
Bedding was also funny smelling
Clean, friendly staff and locals
I was next to the stairs, noisy a bit
Nice and clean , easy access
not emote for TV and when complained still nothing they could do, fire alarm going off at stupid time of morning (4am) , also took £100 extra as a deposit and was supposed to refund upon checkout. Still not been paid it back!
All round a good quality night stay for the money with breakfast included
Room was dated & the shower was a caravan style shower which leaked on the floor making it dangerous.
For the time spent in the room it was acceptable
This hotel is great value for money.Clean quiet rooms, comfortable beds and friendly helpful staff.Breakfast was great, they had good quality gluten free bread available. Will definitely come again if I am in Peterborough .They even allowed me to store my overnight bag after I had checked out as I was waiting for my car to be repaired
Didn't like the instant coffee,,but I am a coffee snob
Το έξτρα κόστος των 50 ευρώ που πλήρωσα ως εγγύηση για την κάρτα μου ! Και περιμένω την επιστροφή του.
I stayed here for 3 nights in February, and it was easily the worst hotel experience I’ve had. Usually, you can find at least one redeeming quality in a stay, but here, there was absolutely nothing to like.
The Room: The conditions were unacceptable. [Insert specific detail: e.g., dirty, freezing, or noisy]. It felt like the room hadn't seen a proper cleaning or maintenance update in years.
The Staff: This was perhaps the most frustrating part. The service was utterly unprofessional. The staff were [unhelpful/rude/indifferent] and made it feel like my presence—and my reasonable requests—were a massive inconvenience to them. There is a total lack of hospitality or basic customer service training here.
Facilities & Value: Everything feels run-down and neglected. For the price paid, the value is non-existent.
Summary: Do not be fooled by the photos. This place is poorly managed, the staff are unpleasant, and the overall environment is grim. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to book elsewhere in Peterborough.
Where do I even start? The staff were incredibly unprofessional and rude from the moment I arrived; it felt like I was an inconvenience to them. The room was [insert: dirty/cold/dated], and the overall atmosphere was grim. No hospitality, no service, and no basic standards. This place is poorly managed and a complete waste of money."
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Secure parking
The room smelt and was very outdated. The breakfast was freezing cold .
Everything about the hotel was perfect
Nothing
Room was very spacious, well lit and looked lovely with the canopy bed and candelabra lighting, bathroom was spacious again and the jet bath was great. Bed was huge and very comfortable, even though the pillows were unfortunately a bit on the thin side. Staff were friendly and check in/check out was very smooth.
The pillows were thin which did let the bed down slightly, also the sash windows in the room were single glazed which is a lovely part of the history of the building, however the hotel is situated on a busy road so there was a fast amount of noise disruption through the night (we did stay on a friday night though so understand it may be quieter on different days, also didn't impact our stay at all but something to be aware of when booking!)
The hotel is located close to the city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful on checking in. The lady at breakfast was amazing and extremely helpful, even though she was on her own and rushed off her feet trying to serve breakfast, cook food, check people out and organise a conference. We felt really sorry for her, but despite how busy she was she was extremely helpful and very friendly.
We booked a large room which was advertised as a deluxe room. It was not deluxe and in general needed a lot of TLC and an upgrade as it was very dated and basic. The carpet was well worn and the net curtain "thing" over the bed was wripped not to mention how dirty it was.
The room was very tired and dated. Also needed a good clean. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast itself
We arrived down for breakfast at 0810hrs in plenty of time for breakfast finishing as advertised at 0900hrs.
Sadly there was hardly any cooked food left despite there only being five other people sitting down for breakfast. The sausages had all gone, the bacon looked like it had been cooked hours earlier as it had all dried out. No eggs and only a spoon full of cold beans were left. There was a tray full of black pudding, but again all dried out.
When asked if we could have more food cooked the lady explained that she was on her own and the chef had gone home, even though it was only 0815hrs and people were still turning up for breakfast.
Three other guests sitting next to me were also complaining of the lack of food and quality. I think in the end they only had toast.
Given the poor offering with the cooked breakfast I asked the female to remove this for my wife and I from our booking and asked if I could be refunded the £20 that we had pre paid.
The female staff member agreed to do this but said she would need to get her managers approval later. She confirmed this again when we checked out.
Its now six days since checking out of the hotel and I've not received the refund nor had any communication from the hotel.
Breakfast was like staying at faulty towers......one staff member trying to serve breakfast, cook food, check guests in and out. Serve at the bar (two guests drinking pints of lager at breakfast). Greet guests turning up for a conference and arrange their refreshments. The female staff member was amazing and trying her best.
I had booked tickets for the Motown night at the cathedral. I had flowers and chocolates ordered to be delivered for the room, to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday.
On checking in the staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful.
There was also a complete surprise of a bottle of bubblee.
The complete package made my wife so very happy.
Thanks to all at the Queensgate.
The weather, but you can't predict that.
