Hotel Emarald

This is not a 3 star hotel. Yes, it is centrally located, but a train is located right next door and the horn goes off every few hours. The rooms need a good cleaning. I moved the curtains and a large cloud of dust erupted. The ceiling in the bathroom has paint peeling. Tape over electrical cords. You need to call repeatedly for the hot water to be turned on. The towels are very worn out and scratchy. The toilet takes repeated attempts to flush it, even with large amounts of water poured in.
The only saving grace was some of the staff that tried very hard to accommodate the guests.

Rooms need an overhaul and a complete clean.

My room has broken bits of furniture, if you move the curtain, the dust flies around.

Towels are scratchy, tv not working, no fridge or hairdryer, mouldy shower. The air con and fan do work and it's location is not far from Connaught Circus, so if they cleaned and maintained it would be fine.

Service provided by Mr. Pushkar Singh is very good and not forgettable. He manages the restaurant very well. He also managed the service at banquet hall with proactive approach.

It was a worst kind of experience to stay in this Hotel. Everything was horrible. Restaurant was stinking. Room housekeeping is very poor. All kinds of Rats, Lizards were in room & could not sleep for a minute. Only silver lining is Good staff.

One of the cost effective places to stay in the Delhi Center. Close to Metro, Airport line and even Palika bazaar. Rooms are good and comfortable.

Charge extra per person in case missed out during booking.

Breakfast is decent with ok spread, South Indian dishes are ok.

Bathrooms are decent and cleanliness could be better. Wardrobes looks posh and nice wooden finish. Would definitely stay, little pricy. Go during deals and offers.

We had deluxe family room...its big and enough for three guests, but a little noisy because of trains in back of hotel ( train horns ), but it disturbs only seconds...the stuff is very polite and helps anytime...At the whole, a pleasant stay, money worth...

Room size was good but the hotel overall needs to be updated. It looks like it was once a very nice place but has been allowed to get run-down. Also not very clean - bed linens, bathroom not good. Breakfast area was depressing - in basement, no wifi, limited choices. Wifi in room was a problem that they did try to fix but didn’t always work. Location was good. Walking distance to Connaught Place and felt safe to do the walk at night.

We didn’t actually stay at the emarald hotel, we were staying at the one next door.
When we went out for a walk the receptionist of this hotel came out and as he was walking to the subway offered quite nicely to take us to connaught place, where he bullied us into getting inside a tourist agency and left. In this tourist agency, the man in charge called a “friend” who spent a large amount of time following us (first by tuk tuk and then walking and thinking we weren’t noticing him) and supposedly wanted to take us to a bazar. We were so scared we had to grab a rickshaw and seek refugee in another hotel.
Definitely don’t trust the receptionists if you go there.

I stayed here for one night in June 2018. The property is good. Rooms are big with reasonably good interior. Location wise it is situated opp. World Trade Cetner on Babar Road, so it is good. At the same time, railway line passess through at the back side of the hotel. So, it becomes noisy sometime. Banquet and breakfast arear is at under ground area. Wifi service is available but it is weak. Overall stay was good.

We came here after a long travel, the person in the front desk treated us very shabbily even though we had a booking through a very reputed agency. We have informed them about our requirement of clean and quite room but we got a dirty and noisy room. There is a railway station behind and it made hell of a noise we couldn't sleep a drop.The towels were dirties I have ever seen in a hotel. When I asked he said that he can't do anything. The other person who understood the problem changed the room and provided little better towels but the linens were filthy. It took another mission to change. Even though they said there is WiFi it didn't work. Breakfast was not good at all. But the waiter was little helpful. Further the dining area is in the storeroom and you have climb one floor to wash your hand.This place is putrid service is horrible. Better you stay in the platform than staying here.

Won’t be staying here again. Bed sheets aren’t clean, it’s far too near a railway line so constant disruption till 10pm and then from 6am onwards .

Breakfast is served in a smelly basement.

On arrival no service with a smile, asked if there was a safe in the room we got a simple no , asked what security we have of our possessions and were told by a grumpy lady it’s the guests responsibility and not there’s.

Would I stay here again..... NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.

Stayed here as it is close to Connought Place. The hotel needs a revamp and bathroom can be kept more hygienic. It is not value for money, when it comes to the facilities the hotel is offering. Breakfast spread is limited and is not that great. Would expect better facilities for the price they charge. The rooms are small and there is barely space to move around in it.

The pisition is good if you want to stay close to Connaught place in New Delhi and just opposite to Lalit. The room was good .Breakfast has to be improved.The staff were ok and cordial.But i haven't seen or heard of any hotel who do not allow guests in the room.This is really a very bad policy. This happens in HOSTELS NOT IN HOTELS

The hotel smells horrible, I had to ask them to make the room because they simply didn't do it. The shower was gross and leaked like crazy. Really disappointing experience overall. Would have paid half maybe.

i went there with my one of the friends. we were amaze by their service , the price was reasonable . Location was good - in area with lots of nice places to eat and shop. The room was quite big, clean with all necessary things and working AC. Breakfast was served in the room and was excellent.
Emerald Hotel is one of the most advancing hotel. Many dishes are there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The snacks of Emerald Hotel is too awesome. Cleanness is the main factor in this hotel and that's why everyone go there again and again.

There was some bugs but you are in India so there is them. Good room service and food. Very good cable tv and lovely staff. Little expensive for backpacker travelers. Very close to city center and Conaghue place.

Good staff. Good location, big but,went out for the day,came back and found these blood sucking bugs, some how we manage to clean them out. Reported to reception next day they said we will change your room,but we were too tired at that time and our stuff was everywhere so we couldn't bothered,receptionist said that they will get pest control witch they did. And when we came back next evening ,bugs where waiting for us some died and some alive. Apart from that lovely place.

I stayed in this hotel as a stopover prior to taking a flight to London. It was booked last minute but at a very reasonable price. It was clean, spacious and had all the things I needed for a comfortable stay. It was near the train station but actually I didn't find this too disturbing. I would definitely recommend another stay. The breakfast was slightly lacking but I found the hotel staff very helpful. They even organised a trip round Delhi with a taxi despite very short notice.

I stayed there with my parents, and I was not at all satisfied with the services and facilities:

1. Hot running water- had to call up the room service twice, only to have it fixed not before 2 hours. there was no hot water in the wash basin faucets.

2. The staff (excluding the house keeping and restaurant) were not very hospitable.

3. I found the lighting of the washrooms to be a bit dingy.


Positives:

1. Good location
2. Buffet breakfast was delicious
3. Decent wi-fi connection
4. Rooms are well sized

Too different from pictures. Very small room. Staff wasn't helpful. Breakfast wasn't good either. Over priced hotel.
