Hotel Boutique Casa Catrina

I bought 12 friends from Australia to experience Oaxaca and we all stayed at Casa Catrina Boutique Hotel, and the experience couldn’t have been better. The location was perfect, not far to walk to all of the places of interest. The hotel staff were excellent and they were so helpful to any of our needs . From the very first time I contacted Ana at the hotel to make the booking, she has been such a pleasure to deal with. I cannot rate highly enough Ana and her team . I have been to Oaxaca many times before but this visit has been my most memorable. Many thanks to Ana and her staff .

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. I stayed in the red room. It was ample, with a big, comfortable bed, a sitting area, and a huge bathroom with natural skylights. The shower was amazing. There was a big terrace, from which I watched the parade announcing the 2026 Guelaguetza--amazing. The building is very nice. The hotel is located on the north end of the city center. It is a lively neighborhood, but with less foot traffic than places closer to the center. I appreciated that. It is also close to other neighborhoods with beautiful art and nice restaurants. It was convenient to walk to the Guelaguetza auditorium, too.

The staff at the hotel were very nice and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and filling. I had bread, fruit, coffee, and Oaxaca-style eggs most days (one day I got eggs with black mole sauce). Amazing.

I would love to stay in this hotel again. I recommend it highly.

This hotel had everything you need, the rooms were immaculately cleaned, I have only good things to say. We stayed around 10 days, the breakfast service by Inocencio was very professional, the food was delicious and beautiful. The staff, all of them were so service full and sweet. A special mention for Ana, who helped us with our tours and all information we needed, was so amazingly sweet, warm, she made us feel as family. This is very unusual, I have traveled all over the world, and highly recommend this hotel and specially for the staff!

We had a large, comfortable room on the ground floor. Excellent services. Very good breakfast. Hotel location was perfect for walking around Oaxaca.

El desayuno fue delicioso. Variado, con buen sazón, jugos de frutas naturales, pan de dulce muy bueno, platillos variados....El personal excelente. Felicidades a Anna, nos apoyó muchísimo, y Viridiana encantadora. El hotel está a dos cuadras del Convento de Santo Domingo. A pesar de ser una calle transitada el hotel es muy silencioso. Hay bahías para descender maletas o pasajeros. La habitación iluminada y con muy buena ventilación, aire acondicionado y muy cómoda. A unos cuantos pasos hay restaurantes de todos los precios. Es muy buena la ubicación, la recomiendo ampliamente.

Breakfast lovely. We had a room with a large shared veranda that was quite special. Staff helped with sorting cake and flowers for my partner's birthday. Had breakfast on veranda too.

We had a wonderful enormous second floor room - more like a suite - with a huge bathroom and even larger covered terrace which had a seating area adorned with tropical plants. Breakfasts were wonderful, with a huge glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and typical Oaxacan hot chocolate, along with one of a half dozen egg preparations. The location was excellent for touring, being in walking distance of all the important sites and markets. The housekeeping was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The only potential drawback was the church across the street which rang its bells at sunrise. We enjoyed the local color of the bells which were clearly being rung by hand, but lighter sleepers might not appreciate it quite as much.

Casa Catrina is a delightful hotel just a few blocks from Santo Domingo. Our room was stunning and very well appointed. The staff was both professional and friendly--there to help. We had the American Breakfast offering with fresh fruit, homemade breakfast rolls, coffee and lots more. I would absolutely stay there again.

Our six day visit to Oaxaca was anchored by a delightful stay at the Casa Catrina. Inocencio and Ana made us feel at home, providing delicious breakfasts, transportation assistance and touristic advice. We stayed in the red room upstairs with a beautiful balcony, spacious room and huge shower/bathroom. Almost everything we wanted to do in town was in walking distance. The perfect hotel for us in Oaxaca!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Catrina. The staff were attentive and the breakfasts wonderful. Our room was spacious and had the most beautiful piece of art that gave us joy every time we were in the room. Great location. We highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay again.
