Topaz Motel

Absolutely horrible experience. Small room, uncomfortable, no mirror in the bathroom, no grab bars in the shower, TV didn't work properly, office clerk rude, and WORST of all... I got bed bug bites from this place. Wouldn't recommend this motel to my worst enemy.

I’m reminded of the abandoned houses in Downtown Detroit — although the houses in Detroit did have toilet paper roll holders in their bathrooms. My room at the Topaz didn’t need a holder because they don’t provide toilet paper. Clearly, BYOTP! The faucets are rusted and leak. The shower had a rain shower head, but it only provides a light Spring sprinkle. The refrigerator has NEVER been cleaned on the outside. A tetanus shot is recommended. Better yet, do like me and flee this horrific property.

I stay here every time I am in town. Great value for your dollar and very nice folks.

Room was dirty, saw many roaches, no hot water and no desire to resolve the issue when notified. Mattress and bedding smelled of urine on bed closest to door. View from room is breathtaking and we enjoyed the bench outside.

We went as a family and had friends join. It’s clean enough. Pool was open. I wish the beach access was directly across the street, it’s hard walking down the road with the construction going on. We enjoyed hanging out on the benches outside of our door, seems like everyone did too. I will be bringing a blanket next time.

The staff is nice and willing to make your stay pleasant. Excellent location ocean front. However the property lacks maintenance. It is obvious how cheap they are and dont want to spend money in new stuff.
Examples: electric outlets corroded, bed sheets, covers and towels are broken or with spots. Furniture with spots , microwave corroded inside, wooden floors peeling off, ect.

The actual motel is in fairly bad repair. All doors, front and back porch were terrible. Front didn’t shut without slamming and porch slider would hardly move. Everything needs a little updating.
Tried to put me in room that didn’t have any amenities that were on webpage. Told them it was our anniversary, nothing was done to make our stay special.
All around cheap motel

Family vacation, asked for room service 2 days in a row. We to the beach and other places. Came back to our room service, no clean sheets, no beds made, no towels. Never cleaned our room or took trash our whole stay even though we requested it. Cigarette burns in sheets non-smoking room, though. Pillows are flat. Beds are small not very comfy.
