We were sold this trip via TUI who advertised a family room as air conditioned, it wasn’t. The bedroom has an air conditioned vent but it is controlled centrally and we never felt the benefit. The 2 beds in the lounge have no air conditioning at all. As we were on the ground floor we couldn’t leave the door open and when asked to move rooms we were told no. The rooms are dated. There is also no WiFi in the room, only communal spaces. The rooms are tired and dated. That was the downside
The location was amazing, was lovely to be right in the beach. We spent most of the time at the quieter pool as we struggled for beds in the main (smaller) pool but that was fine for us. No inflatables at all in either pool. We also only ate at the restaurant in the annexe and the food and drinks here were great. The drinks for an all inclusive were really great.
The staff were friendly and helpful and if this came up in a great deal we would go back.
It’s a dated hotel but the staff & facility’s are excellent & nothing is to much trouble, food is good
Fabulous stay at this hotel. Perfect location, the beach is beautiful, gorgeous sand, just a bit wavey and chances of red flags. Staff incredibly friendly and polite. Rooms very clean, although dated still great overall (pillows not the best though). We booked a partial sea view and the view was amazing. Food was good, especially the Mandarin Restaurant (make sure you reserve early), buffet is nice but repetitive and pool snack bar is lacking, however main restaurant for lunch is much better. Drinks are great, maybe slightly limited selection compared to other resorts and also they don’t have any straws at all. Both pools were great, the annex pool seems bigger and less busy, sunbeds at both go quickly (about 8am). Hotel supplies free towels for sunbeds to be changed everyday. Can’t comment on evening entertainment as seats get taken fast, same for the top bar also. Lots of activities in the day e.g water aerobics, volleyball, archery, bingo etc. Taxi rank and bus stop outside the hotel, just a short 10 min drive to Corralejo, (taxi costs about €9) lots of shops, waterpark etc. Few shops onsite for snacks, water, souvenirs, beach toys etc and a connivence store a short walk away. Lots of excursions available via tui reps. Overall, a great stay, would go again as fab location and great value for money.
We have had a great week at the olvia beach. The staff go above and beyond and are always happy to chat to you! The food has been the best we have ever had in an all inclusive. The beach is literally on your door step! The hotel is very dated and needs upgrading but it is spotless clean. We are already looking to book to come back next year
Had a great 2 weeks hired a car for 3 days went round island hired buggy had great time is a must hotel is getting a little dated but it's in a great location and the staff are great especially MARTINA on front desk she so helpful 10/10 and cheerful 😊
Stayed for a week and was really disappointed. The location is lovely being right next to a beach and the rooms were cleaned everyday but that was the only good things about it. The breakfast selection is minimal, no coffee machine, hardly any selection of pastries. Only chorizo sausages a few days not normal sausages, no hashbrowns etc. Lunch was virtually the same everyday. The evening meal at the start of our stay were not great but as the week went on they did get better. The Mandarin restaurant the food is 10/10 if you can get booked into it. Our room had ants in, especially in the bathroom so make sure things are covered up and kept away, this made the room feel dirty constantly! They were also in the living room where the kids were supposed to sleep so we all ended up in the main bedroom. There was aircon in there though which kept everyone cool! Our annexe room was situated by the cleaners room and everyday we were woken by their trolleys at about 5:30am, repeatedly going up the pathway. The pool by the annexe is quite deep so not suitable if kids can't swim well, the children's swimming pool is tiny and no floaties are allowed in the pools. Nothing going on for the kids in the evenings, no mini discos.
Absolutely fantastic holiday we stayed in the annex the rooms are spacious and spotless clean. Like everyone says it's out dated but honestly don't let that put you off. I have never stayed in a hotel so clean. The staff all all hard working and can't do enough for you. Special mention to Carlo the barman and his team at the main bar. The location of the hotel is amazing and the beach is absolutely gorgeous. The food is plentiful yes it's all inclusive menu but always some that you will like. We will be definitely coming back.
Rooms clean I know there’s issues with up dating the hotel and you are going through court but the carpet in my room was thread bare you could do something about this and the mattress are not the best but we had a great holiday
The hotel was dated but overall was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised. Great location!
As we come to the penultimate day of our 10-day family holiday, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at the RIU Oliva Beach Resort.
Like many people, our first impression was that the hotel looked a little dated. However, we quickly learned that this is due to strict nature conservation regulations, meaning major renovations simply aren’t possible. What soon became obvious is that appearances mean absolutely nothing when the people inside make somewhere feel so special.
From the moment we arrived, one thing stood out above everything else—the pride every single member of staff takes in this hotel. It is, without doubt, the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Whether it was the gardens, communal areas, restaurants or poolside, staff were constantly working to keep everything immaculate, yet always with a smile on their face.
The service has been second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, someone is there to help. That level of genuine care is becoming increasingly rare, and it deserves recognition.
The entertainment team have been absolutely superb. They bring so much energy and laughter to the resort without ever making anyone feel pressured to join in. Whether you’re looking for fun or complete relaxation, they somehow manage to create the perfect balance.
The food has been excellent throughout our stay, offering plenty of choice for everyone. Even when something wasn’t available, the staff happily did everything they could to accommodate guests. It’s those little touches that make all the difference.
With several bars spread around the resort, you’re never far from a refreshing drink, whether that’s a cold beer, a cocktail, a coffee or a soft drink.
But above everything else, it is the people who make this place so special.
Every member of staff has been friendly, professional and genuinely invested in making our holiday unforgettable. It feels unfair to single anyone out because they all deserve recognition, but Carlos and the bar team showed us a level of kindness we’ll never forget. When my wife was suffering badly with sciatica, they kept bringing bags of ice for her over several days without hesitation. They didn’t have to—but they did. It’s those acts of genuine compassion that stay with you long after the holiday ends.
During our stay we’ve met guests who have returned year after year, with some now on their 18th visit as Platinum members. At first I couldn’t understand why anyone would return to the same hotel so many times.
Now I do.
We’ve laughed, relaxed, made wonderful memories as a family, and experienced hospitality at its very best. We arrived as first-time guests, but we’re leaving feeling like we’ve become part of the RIU Oliva Beach Resort family.
To every single member of staff—thank you. Thank you for your hard work, your kindness, your smiles and for making this one of the most enjoyable family holidays we’ve ever had.
We’ll most certainly be back.
Beautiful setting right on the beach, which is stunning and great fun jumping the crazy waves! Staff work very hard to ensure the hotel is clean and that their customers are well catered for. A great selection of foods for all meal and snack times. Some have said it is repetitive but the choice is vast and you don’t have to choose the same things everyday as there are meats, fish, pasta dishes, salads, potatoes and so much more each day.
Yes the rooms need updating (we were in the main hotel with a lovely view of the beach) but they are clean and have plenty of storage and you won’t want to spend time in your room when you have the lovely pool and beach to go to.
The atmosphere around the hotel was great, with fun entertainment during the day and evening for both adults and children.
We have been to this hotel 3 times and are going again in September. The hotel is in a beautiful position on a fabulous beach. It is extremely good value. The staff work very hard to keep everything clean, and food is very good. The hotel building is old,and rooms and furniture very worn, however staff are lovely, everything is kept clean, and we find comfortable. The town is a couple of miles away, and easily accessible with buses and taxis. You are also able to take day trips to Lanzarote. This is the only hotel we return to.We love
Don’t book here with Tui if you want air con. Family rooms don’t have air con in lounge and on the bedroom barely works. Tui don’t care all they do is offer a fan! In 35degrees and 22 over night!
Rooms were slightly outdated but fit for purpose, pool was great but no floats allowed, beach is beautiful but charges for sun loungers. Food ok, poor vegetarian selection
We stayed at Oliva Beach with my 16-year-old daughter and had a fantastic holiday. Yes, the hotel is a little dated in places, but honestly, it didn’t take away from our experience at all. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and offered everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
We stayed in the main building, which was peaceful and quiet. Even though there were families with young children at the hotel, it never felt noisy or chaotic, which was a lovely surprise.
The location is excellent. There’s a local bus stop just down the road, a supermarket directly opposite the hotel, and a taxi rank right outside, making it really easy to explore the area.
The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always happy to help with a smile. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard and was always fresh when we returned.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would happily stay here again. If you’re looking for a great-value hotel in a fantastic location with excellent service, don’t let the slightly dated décor put you off—it’s well worth a visit.
Lo que más me gustó fue la amabilidad de todo el personal.
La decoración de la habitación y la moqueta.
