Hotel Eden Roc

My family and I were traveling through Switzerland in September and had an absolutely amazing stay in Ascona at Eden Roc! Markus Tauss and his team went above and beyond and made the visit truly memorable. The room was perfect! Homemade Lemonade and Ice Tea awaited us upon arrival, the view was superb, and the service was perfect! Every aspect from our stay was great, dirnks on the terrace, to breakfast in the Garden, what more could you ask for. And again, as mentioned above, the friendliness and desire to help was very present throughout the entire resort! thank you for the great service and fabulous stay!!

This is a gorgeous more modern resort hotel with service that is exactly what a luxury resort should be in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our stay immensely even though it rained during most of our time in Ascona. The promenade and shopping area of the small town of Ascona is lovely and an easy walk from the hotel.

From the complimentary private pickup from the Locarno train station which we arranged in advance, to the drive to the ferry dock for our next stop, the service was flawless.

The room was beautiful, with plenty of space to unpack and store things with all the modern conveniences. The bathroom was large with one of the best showers ever. The only tiny hiccup were the door locks which can be rather tricky until you get the knack, but we were told that they will be changing that this winter.

They have numerous restaurant choices and we ate at three of the four choices. The Marina, was very good. The Cassetta, which we reserved had to close because it was outdoor dining and raining, and we were immediately informed by the staff and given other options. The two Michelin star La Brezza restaurant was very special, and a most enjoyable evening with magnificent food. The chef who came out to speak with us was delightful as was everyone we spoke with. One of our top two meals we have ever had and worth the high cost. Our least favorite was the Eden Roc restaurant, but that had a superb salad bar, and was where the excellent breakfast buffet was served in the morning. The bar area both indoors and outdoors was centrally located and a wonderful place to relax, often with a piano player and one who was a delightful vocalist. There were many sitting areas throughout the resort which also worked very well for us because of the weather.

The indoor outdoor pool with jacuzzi area was great.

This is a fine case of you get what you pay for, and although the cost is high, we had no complaints and enjoyed our time there. We recommend.

The location of Eden Rock is simply amazing, with the lake right at your doorstep and a beach that’s hard to beat. It’s stunningly beautiful, and you can easily spend days just taking in the view or making use of the stand-up paddles and kayaks provided. Breakfast was another highlight – a thoughtful selection, not too big but just right, with excellent quality products that we truly appreciated.

Beware when staying here. The AC in rooms is preset at 24 C with the ability to reduce the temp only by up to 3 C....netting out at 21C best case. Generally it did not work so our room was always about 23C, which for my family is too warm. Also the restaurant in evenings is absurdly overpriced and the food not great...they focus more on presentation than taste. The town is great so if you stay here walk to the village to eat.

All excursions and water sports are included. Exceptional service.

The hotel & staff are wonderful! The view is amazing! But, we could not open the door to our room 2/3 of the time. The key lock needs to go keyless!

An absolutely stunning position on the magnificent lake in Ascona. The property is beautifully maintained with wonderful amenities, spa, pools, lakeside swimming, steam room and saunas and many beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to gather or sit alone gazing out to the wonder of nature. The service was exceptional (loved Lina) and the rooms were very comfortable, clean and luxurious. We loved the organic body products - so critical in these toxic times. The breakfast was good. We would have liked more organic and gluten-free options and super foods. La Brezza restaurant is a stand out experience (see separate review).
Overall, it's expensive but you only live once!

I celebrated my birthday at the spa. Although I retired from being a spa  director for  a beautiful 5-star spa, I can’t get enough of spas, so I had to visit this one. From entry to exit, my experience was outstanding.  The views from the outdoor relaxation areas were amazing,  creating a perfect backdrop for me to relax.   So I read some, journaled some, relaxed in the thermal waters, and enjoyed the cold and hot water therapies.   For my treatment, I had an amazing spa experience provided by Nicholas. 

The spa is beautifully designed, and every possible need appears to have been considered.  This is a spa experience that I will not forget. 

Everything about this magical, spectacular property in a breathtakingly beautiful place is first-rate. Every.single.thing. Spacious, designer rooms. Gorgeous, lakefront position. Fantastic, varied cuisine. Top class service. No room for improvement in any way that we could see. Bravo!

Was soll man über ein solches Hotel schon sagen. Da stimmt ja von A bis Z in der Regel alles. Da dort auch Menschen arbeiten, kann doch der eine oder andere Fehler passieren und das muss nicht an die grosse Glocke gehängt werden (sind ja Einzelfälle). Der Aufenthalt war auch in diesem Jahr einfach nur goldig. Wir weiterempfehlen dieses Hotelsehr gerne weiter.

Das beste Hotel das ich je besucht habe. Alles stimmt…. !!

Super Hotel!

This was our first visit to Ascona and we truly didn’t know what to expect. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and escorted on a brief tour of the hotel and the facilities. Our room was lovely with a view of both the lake and the town of Ascona. On our first night we were invited to a small cocktail party where we had the opportunity to meet Chris, the manager of the property. He was very engaging and from that moment on he took a genuine interest in what we were doing and what our plans were. On our first morning we met Cyrill, the outdoor butler and Johanna, the fitness/wellness manager. Cyrill gave us several suggestions for hikes and restaurants as well as accompanying us on a bee keeping adventure. Wow! We can’t wait to return to Ascona and specifically to the Eden Roc.

For the price you pay it really is not worth the money - the standards of the rooms are not sufficient compared to what you get elsewhere.

We were part of a big group so had to stay at the hotel and there were not other luxury options really in that area so there was not much choice - but if they want to charge these prices, they do need to upgrade the rooms a bit and provide better amenities. Some of the balcony furniture was equivalent of what you'd find in a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Enjoying the wonderful city of Ascona in the very privileged setting of the Eden Roc has been a truly delightful experience. The property is set in a stunning location of course, but what struck me from the moment I set foot in the hotel was the sense of service that the staff displayed every opportunity they had. Attention to detail, ensuring the experience matched what the guest expected, and all that without being pushy but simply present.

A real gem of a hotel. We just returned from a 4 day stay at the Eden Roc, and still feel pampered and relaxed, and would have stayed longer had our plans allowed for it. Firstly, the location, stunning, overlooking the beautiful lake with Alps as a backdrop – it does not get better than that, immaculate gardens, discreet elegance everywhere. Luxurious without being too ostentatious and pushy. The attention to detail must be commended, starting with the beautifully arranged flowers throughout the hotel, to a book of bedtime stories in the room. It’s the little touches that make this hotel stay so comfortable.

The hotel has 3 pools, and of course the lake on its doorstep with paddle boards, kayaks, sail boats and a variety of water sports available. It is also within 5 minutes’ walking distance of the various restaurants lining the Ascona lake front. It has bikes at the guests’ disposal, and we took advantage of that and cycled to Cannobio in Italy. The concierge were very helpful in getting all the bikes ready for us but the highlight of the holiday for our son was the Fiat 500 boat that could be taken out onto the lake. Yes, it only has 8 bhp, and a kayak would have been faster but it does not get more iconic that going in a Fiat 500 on Lake Maggiore, channelling your inner James Bond. Great fun. We’ll definitely consider it for our next stay, should we return to the area.

If you want to have a relaxing time, go to the Eden Roc. We love it there and look forward to our stays there . Very friendly staff. Great brakfast as well as a good choice of restaurants at the hotel. Ask for a room with lake view. A short walk tot he city and Bicycles are avialable for driving around.

We stayed at Hotel Eden Roc during the 40th Anniversary of the Jazz Festival JazzAscona. We split our time between hearing jazz in the town and lounging at the pool, getting spa treatments, and eating in fabulous restaurants on the grounds of Hotel Eden Roc. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful and the hotel is world class. Make Ascona Switzerland a destination and stay at Hotel Eden Roc.

This hotel is extremally nice. The staff is very friendly and professional. Hotel location, the pools, the gardens....all great. I was particularly impressed by the fact that our electric car was returned to us fully charged upon departure!
