Perfect riverside retreat.
Pros:

Beautiful riverside location. Inside the hotel is warm and cosy. My room was fabulous with a comfortable bed, great shower and lovely view of the river. The staff were outstanding. I had an evening meal and cooked breakfast both of which were superb and met my needs for gluten free options well. If I come back to this area I will definitely stay again.

Pros:

great location loved the river outside the hotel. the rooms need updating

Cons:

we arrived later than planned and had not had dinner. we missed our reservation due to traffic issues. by 20-30 minutes. The hotel had given our reservation to someone else. totally understandable. we were hungry and they offered no solution. nothing. not a tray of cheese and crackers in the room. nothing. it was not a good start to our stay. felt very inhospitable and uncaring.

Great for a bed without the hospitality and service expected of Scotland.

Location based on our route of travel

Cons:

The noise made it a sleepless night, there was continuous noise above our room, when it wasn’t a two story building. The delivery truck was very early in the morning making noise outside the room. The onsite bar did not serve cocktails, even though they had a fully stocked car.

Pros:

Located very beautifully next to the river. Good breakfast with a wide selection of both cold and hot products. Staff very helpful and attentive at breakfast and dinner. The cosy atmosphere in the area with an open fireplace. Multiple areas where guests can unwind.Genuine Scottish hotel.

Cons:

The attitude of the person in bar area when I arrived. The poor layoyt of my single room with a broken headboard on the bed, no plugs by the bed, no lamp on the desk in the far corner, noise from an object in hallway that kept me awake, light in the hallway shining through by the bottom of the door. Not being allowed to use lift between 10 pm and 8 am. For me who waa having a rather painful mobility issue, it was not nice.

Used for one night to explore the west side of the Loch. Great location

Lack of power points and quite cool in the morning. Should put the heating on a little earlier.

Lovely Scottish hotel.
Pros:

Great location. Lovely evening meal with excellent service.

Cons:

Shower hot tap was stuck at extreme hot. Staff were quick to assist, but I hope they have since called in the plumber.
Room was a bit small but adequate.

Pros:

Clean, tasteful room and comfortable bed. The old elevator was pretty cool. ;) Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

The bathroom is a bit small (was no issue for us, but might be, if you need more space).

Friendly and great location but let down overall by general standards

The main issue was noise in my room. It felt like an institution rather than a hotel. Very bare and the heating didn't work properly, so it was too cold in the evening and when I went to bed, then too hot in the morning. I stayed in an Annex room and the walls & floor were so thin I was kept awake with footsteps from next door and the room above. I was also woken up early at 6am by a delivery truck reversing to the kitchen entrance which was right opposite my room door, then there were loud voices right outside - sounded like staff arriving or talking to the driver. There was another truck an hour later so I wasn't able to get back to sleep. If the hotel is selling rooms in an annex right next to the delivery and staff entrance, then deliveries should be managed more carefully to not disturb guests.
Breakfast was poor - instant coffee in 2026 isn't really up to scratch. Breakfast hours could also be longer. Selection of breakfast was limited, and flavours not great.

Friendly staff, great view from the bedroom and amazing cosy bar
Pros:

Great value for money. The staff were kind and friendly. The room was lovely and clean with great views. The bar was cosy and good selection of beers. It was a good location for hill walking.

Good location
Pros:

Good location ,room clean and cosy

Cons:

Staff (we didn't feel welcome there )we decided to have dinner t after a long journey food in wasn't great and also expensive ,bed very uncomfortable i was really struggling it was like sleeping on the wooden planks.
