The building and the garden are stunning.
We were put in a room that
is made for older people. There was a chair in the shower with a plastic curtain and the shower smelled thick and moldy.. I wasn't sure this room was for us on the card and what the receptionist said was different. When I went back to ask if this was for us he said yes. When I turned around he was swearing.Im not sure at me or he was on the call but it was weird
Location was good, but on the flight path to BHX airport.
Housekeeping was very good.
The plane noise would not have been a problem if we hadn't been woken up by delivery/collection vans from 5.30am.
There was a smoking area by our room which was not a proper until you got a few people gathered to smoke and talk very loudly.
Signs into and around the property could be better.
The room looked excellent when we arrived but looking around there was damaged to the furniture & damaged tiles in the bathroom..
We had a double room which only had 1 comfortable chair and an office chair. The room was big enough foe 2 nice chairs or a small sofa.
No Gym
Belle demeure
Prestations insuffisantes :
Vue sur parking
Pas de vraie cafetière (café lyophilisé)
Petit déjeuner standard
Lovely grounds
Bedding was dirty on arrival - tried to say it was cleaning fluid on duvet - cover was clean but visible signs of blood on duvet - they did move rooms but to a first floor one with no balcony and no jacuzzi Beth tub
Beautiful hotel.
Safe parking.
Breakfast available on site
This time around we were put in the Braford Room. There were no lifts to this room and the signage to the room were non existent. We got down to breakfast at 9am, half the options were gone and not replaced. The hotel is still our favourite in Birmingham so it still gets an overall thumbs up. It was a room booked for 2 people so not sure why one set of towels were hidden in the wardrobe.
Gorgeous hotel in beautiful grounds, very historic. Staff friendly, room clean with good shower.
No lift, a king/ queen bed would have been more comfortable
THe building, location
We travelled around UK and stayed in many hotels to compare:
Wifi didn’t work nor connected most of the time, cannot reconnect.
We got the top most room, while the weather is hot, no air con, and the roof is low/angled in the main bedroom and bathroom that we keep hitting our heads accidentally on the roof, sometimes hard.
The sink is blocked, we called reception to try to fix it but nothing was done.
The toilet rolls didnt get top up when they making up the room, we had to call reception for additional toilet rolls didnt.
I was one of the most civilised places I have ever stayed. The staff were attentive and curious. The breakfast spread was good enough for me to forgo a lie in the morning after the convention (high prase indeed.
Breakfast was good
No air conditioning and was hot in the room, bed was a little soft, noise from airport and guests from two weddings until late.
