Fantastic hotel, spotlessly clean.
Everything was spot on.
Food and selection was ample and the restaurant and cooking staff were excellent .
The hotel is described as a quiet family hotel this couldn’t be further from the truth. We arrived to find around 150 children aged from 12-17 at the hotel, this is a common occurrence due to the location of the international swimming pool located close to the hotel
They were out of control, up to the early hours shouting to each other across the belconies.
Meal time was like the feeding time at the zoo and the food quality was poor, chips pizza and burgers were the main food on offer.
The pool was just the same, rude unruly children with no respect for your personal space
I have spoken to jet2 who acknowledged the problem but have very little compassion about the nightmare holiday they sold me, offering me £250 compensation (that’s less than 10% of the holiday cost). I wouldn’t have booked this hotel if I was given the correct information. I feel I was miss sold this holiday based on the brochure description.
BE VERY CAREFUL
This is an excellent 4* hotel in a wonderful coastal position that has recently undergone extensive modernisation. The decor is modern but tasteful with a large and pleasant lounge and bar, an airy restaurant, good food with outdoor dining on fine days and seperate pool and playground for children. Suites are well appointed with everything you would expect and large double basin shower rooms. Location is handy for Es Trenc sandy beach as well as good roads to Santanyi, Campos and the rest of the Island via the motorways. Santanyi arts and craft market is well worth a visit every Saturday morning with live music and many cafes and restaurants.
Hotel is in a lovely location very near the sea, and a good boardwalk/path to walk around the coast and to the nearby beaches. The hotel is very clean and all the staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I’ve had and we only did b&b so can’t comment of the other meals but if breakfast is anything to go by then I imagine it will be very good. The room was quite small but the balcony view was nice(sea facing second floor) and the beds were very comfortable and a good (small) bathroom too. The hotel was very clean and tidy. A couple of lovely cafes very close to hotel, one directly opposite the hotel entrance was amazing food! Smallish pool not heated but nice to cool off when required! Nice sun loungers and towels provided(pay extra) per day for pool use. Front desk staff of Mercedes, Lola and Bruno were always happy to help. Floor seven is the Sky bar and the sunsets were amazing. Great break away from UK rain!
What a lovely hotel , set in a nice area. Not too commercialised which we loved .Staff super friendly and welcoming . Food was very good would stay here again .
Never had to worry about reserving sun beds too !
Stayed here with my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter she loved the kids club .
Rooms kept really clean and tidy the hotel was beautiful . Thank you for a lovely stay :)
Lovely clean and modern hotel. We paid extra for a sea view on one of the top floors. Amazing views of sea and a spacious balcony to relax. We booked bed and breakfast and staff helpful and attentive. Good selection of breakfast including cooked to order eggs, omelettes and pancakes. Only criticism was poor orange juice, more like kids squash. Enough sun beds and very clean pool with lifeguard. Views of the rocky coastline from the pool made us feel like we were actually lying on the beach listening to the waves. We booked this hotel and was a little worried as it was family friendly and did not want lots of kids running around, especially as it was school half term. We were very pleasantly surprised. They had a separate pool and children’s play area to the side of hotel, that did not encroach on the main area. The roof top bar has amazing views with comfy sofas and swing seats. This hotel is brilliant for couples and families. It’s not in a traditional Majorcan village as it’s all very new hotels and apartments, however a walk to harbour or a small local bus ride can take you to the real Majorca.
Lovely hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff, reception, bar, restaurant and cleaning staff all were really nice.
Room was a good size with fridge and a safe at no extra cost which was unexpected. Good toiletries supplied including hair conditioner and body lotion .
I had at time of booking upgraded to a sea view and paid extra for this only to discover once I was home our room was advertised as a standard one , we overlooked the street , a restaurant and hotels, the sun never hit our balcony . We had a bit of a sea view but not what I was expecting considering it cost over a hundred pounds extra to "upgrade" , nevertheless we didn't let it spoil our holiday as it was a last minute decision to go on holiday and the street wasn't noisy.
Hotel was spotlessly clean and maintenance seemed to be on the ball.
We only booked bed and breakfast which was good, well set out and plenty choice. You can book to eat lunch or dinner as you wish or upgrade to all inclusive .
Loved this hotel and the resort , it was so peaceful, plenty nice walks , bars and restaurants , a mini train stops outside the hotels and takes you to the marina which is a beautiful spot too.
Would definitely return to Colonia de Sant Jordi and Hotel Romantica.
What a find ! Lovely relaxed hotel all newly refurbished to a lovely decor .
Paid for a sea view room and was well worth it . Going to sleep with the balcony door open to the sound of the sea :) The bed was super comfy with aloe memory foam pillows . Room cleaning was always to a good standard and done discreetly timed when we were at breakfast .
Food was very good breakfast and evening . All the different milks available at breakfast + seeds & fruits of every sort for your cereals , plenty of choice of hot or cold items. Evening meals always had many tasty options and desserts tooo nice !!!
The hotel had mixed guests young and old and many nationalities which we prefer ( not too many English thankfully !! )
Every evening there was entertainment , a couple of very good singers too.
Money Rock show was superb !!
We will be returning to the hotel for sure .
Colonia St Jordi is a lovely small town with a nice boho / upmarket feel .
Es Trenc famous beach is a very short walk from the hotel and lovely .
If you want busy nightlife and noise don`t come here .. Its for relaxing !!!
Fantastic location by the sea with easy access out on to the rocky beach and a 5 minute walk to the sandy beaches.
At the end of the street is salt fields where they harvest the very popular Es Trenc salt which is sold in most of the shops and at Palma airport.
The hotel is a short walk to the Main Street where you’ll find some beautiful clothes shops and restaurants.
20 minute walk away is a laundrette and pharmacy, both came in handy travelling with a one year old.
The atmosphere at the hotel was friendly and laid back.
The rooms are clean and tidy with everyday service for beds, towels and a mop of the floors. We used a standard room as two adults and a one year old and it was a perfect size for us. The hotel supplied a travel cot with an upgraded comfy mattress in it.
The buffet breakfast was gorgeous, and the coffee from the machines is lovely. We didn’t pay lunch or dinner in advance but you can pay each day for these , lunch €19pp and dinner €25pp
The bar served lovely cocktails which were super reasonably priced (€8 for a huge espresso martini and €6 glass of sangria) The rooftop bar opens at 6pm and is worth seeing the sunset from 🌅
There is children’s play room open from 10:30, a play park which is great and a kids pool. The water in the pool was a little cold for our wee girl.
Convenience shop next door with a friendly owner.
The transfer to and from the airport was only 45 minutes. Really fantastic hotel which I recommend for families with children.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Romantic in Mallorca! The location right by the beach is unbeatable — you can literally step out and enjoy the sea views. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Breakfast offered a nice variety each morning, and we especially loved sitting on the terrace with the ocean breeze. It’s a charming, peaceful hotel with a warm, local feel.
Date of stay; 28th Sept - 5th Oct.
My wife & i
were checked in by the friendly & informative desk staff member Mercedes ( i think) ,& we were allocated room 405 which had a sea view - we paid extra to have a high floor sea view room.
Having checked in at 1300 hours, we were informed that our room was not ready ,however ,as we were on full board basis ,we were able to go into the restaurant for lunch first & then after we had finished our meal we were able to go to our room.
Upon entering our room, we were very pleasantly surprised with the modern & fresh look to the room. The bed & pillows were very comfortable, there was enough storage space for our clothes etc , & the bathroom was equipped with a lovely shower with some nice toiletries for use too. A Small holder would be beneficial for shampoo bottles etc in the shower as everything has to be left on the shower floor. The towels weren't the best quality ,a bit on the thin side for our liking I'm afraid. Our balcony was a good size with two decent chairs & a table & a small clothes drier to hand, plus the view out to sea was fantastic !
We also had a large wall mounted t.v with some English channels to watch ,plus a small fridge, which we had to unplug unfortunately, as the noise emitting from it kept us awake on our first night. The air con was fine, but we could not drop the temperature to below 20 degrees, but luckily our room was just at the right feel for us. There is also a free safe in the wardrobe, plus a kettle is provided, but you must bring your own tea, coffee etc as the hotel does not provide any of these at all, not even on arrival, so please be aware of this.
The curtains in the room are quite good at blocking the light out of an evening ,but if , like me, you like to sit out on the balcony late at night, be prepared for all balcony lights to be automatically switched of at 11 p.m. ( 2300 hours) , so i get that guests may want to have an early nights sleep, but i would have preferred the lights to be switched off at midnight instead.
Ok now onto the food; next morning, we ventured down to the restaurant for breakfast, the dining room is very spacious, cool & comfortable, & the food on offer was very nice, lots of the usual buffet style set up, hot cooked items, pastries, breads, fruit etc ,all very nicely prepared too. We loved the idea that there were actually SIX coffee machines on offer in different parts of the restaurant - nice coffee too by the way , plus there were three cold juice machines on offer too, sadly, the juices on offer were absolutely awful, they were basically no more than coloured water & yes we tried all varieties from all three machines, but sadly they all tasted weak ( sorry ! )
Lunch & evening dinner offerings were fresh, tasty & varied, but there was no wow factor, we did enjoy what was on offer however, plus we based the food on offer & compared it to other hotel food in our previous hotel stays, so no disrespect meant to the chefs for this.
You also have the choice to enjoy your meals outdoors overlooking the pool area & the wonderful sea views but we never opted for this as sadly there were flies & wasps hovering around & we watched many guests trying to waft them away whilst trying to eat their food.
Pool area ; Now then , the great thing about this hotel is that ( at least for us) the main pool & kids splash pool are situated in two different areas, the main pool is overlooking the sea & coastal path & the kids pool is situated over the other side of the hotel, so the main pool area is almost for adults only, great idea ! The main pool itself is quite cold upon entering ,however you do get used to it after a while i suppose, but there is no great depth to the pool, as from one end to the other you are able to touch the bottom of it if you are over five feet tall !
The sun loungers on offer are comfortable & there are plenty to go round, plus there is no daft running around trying to secure one at first light, thank goodness.
Now then we were a bit puzzled regarding the sun loungers on the jetty Correct me if i am wrong here, but to secure the sun loungers on the jetty just 50 metres from the main pool area, there was a charge of 8 Euros per day to use them ? i just didn't get this, as not only was it the very same sun loungers as the pool ones , any member of the public walking on the coastal path could walk onto the jetty at any time, giving less privacy than lying by the pool, so to us it just seemed a waste of money, but hey, each to their own i suppose.
Another thing, if you are not on an all inclusive basis, & you require a
pool towel , then you will be charged 3 Euros per day or 10 Euros per week per person. This was a first for us however I'm guessing the hotel have done this to cut out bigger laundry loads hence reducing environmental costs perhaps.
The hotel also has a modern & well equipped gym in the basement.
The hotel does provide entertainment next to the pool / lounge area, we found the entertainment on offer ok but there were three solo guitar acts in a row on which got a bit repetitive. There is some form of kids entertainment on every evening at 20.30 hours ,but this was held in a separate room so no clue as to what was involved. Main entertainment was from 2100 - 2200 hours. The rooftop bar opens from 18 30 - 2300 & we preferred to spend our evenings up here ,shame there was only one night when a live singer was on though ,as other nights there was just background music playing, but chilled out nonetheless.
All of the staff at Romantica hotel are very friendly & helpful & every member of staff are a credit to the hotel, they are very approachable too.
The hotel is in a quiet area , there are a few shops /restaurants a short walk away, but you can reach the port on foot in about 25 minutes , more shops plus a lovely beach there, or you can catch the road train right outside of the hotel which costs 5 Euros a ticket but you can use this as many times throughout the day & it takes you right to the port.
A 10 minute walk to the right of the hotel will bring you to a massive beach- ES TRENC , the sand is nice, the sea water is crystal clear & shallow too, however there are only sun loungers /parasols for hire on the first part of the beach you come to & they aren't cheap either. 24 Euros for two beds & a parasol. Also , there is only one restaurant just behind the beach, 12 p,m opening time, & only ONE single toilet halfway along the beach so just be prepared for this & it gets incredibly busy, so get there early or you will actually be fighting for space as it took me a whole hour to walk the length of the beach so most people will opt to stay near to the hotels /main road entrance onto the beach
Happy holidays everyone !
p,s we loved the hotel but we would not return to the resort as we like to be somewhere a little livelier of an evening.
Staff at Hotel Romantica were very friendly & helpful from the Reception, restaurant & bar staff. All the hotel was kept very clean & tidy. Rooms were a good size, cleaned daily with towel changed if required. There's a refrigerator in the room which is handy. There's a main pool & also a children's pool that was in it's own area with a playground. There was an excellent choice of food in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We were there for 7 nights & didn't have the same meal twice. Drinks were of a good quality & were well made not weak like we've had at some hotels. There's shops & a few restaurants in walking distance but we went the last week of September & we noticed walking about that some had already closed. There's a lovely 30 minute walk along the coast path to the Port of Colonia Sant Jordi which is well worth a visit. If you can't walk far there's a Road Train that stops outside the front of the hotel that takes you there for 5€ return which is well worth it. There is a Roof top bar there with 360 degree views & you see amazing sunsets up there. We enjoyed our visit to the Hotel Romantica very much from start to finish & was sad to leave as found it very relaxing. We highly recommend it & we will definitely be returning.
Recently stayed here all-inclusive for 9 nights at the end of September. The hotel is very clean and modern and situated in a great little area with sandy beaches in both directions and small local town of Colonia De Sant Jordi nearby.
Firstly, all the staff at this hotel are very helpful and friendly and speak good English. I would say the staff here at this hotel are some of the best of any hotel we have stayed at in the last 10 years or so. Special mentions to Enrique, Lubo and Samuel who went above and beyond and really made us feel welcomed.
Food and drinks were generally good. Drinks good choice of both local and branded alcohol and a good choice of cocktails. We tried all the cocktails and they were all excellent especially the Pomada (highly recommend). Some drinks and cocktails not on the all inclusive but you can view the menus on the website to check which ones. Food was your standard all-inclusive buffet type. There was a decent choice but perhaps not enough variety from day to day, the quality varied a little on some days but this was the only downside of the holiday. Breakfast was generally very good, lunch and dinner were average to good. No themed nights on the food which was a little disappointing and could be improved.
Pool area was nice and relaxed, no issues getting sunbeds even later in the day when we had been out for the morning. Rooftop terrace was excellent with good views and sunsets as well as DJ and other entertainment. Table service at the rooftop terrace was also a nice touch. Do be warned, there are a few mosquitoes on an evening at the rooftop terrace so take bands and sprays. There was entertainment every evening either at the downstairs bar or the rooftop terrace which were all good.
Overall had a really great holiday here at Universal Hotel Romantica. If visiting Colonia De Sant Jordi again I would definitely return here again.
This is a lovely hotel in a great location on the beach with plenty of walks nearby.
The welcome we received on arrival from Abil was great and very informative.
All staff were very courteous and efficient with special mentions to Charmaine , Samuel and Jorje the bar staff.
Very clean hotel with room service everyday. We liked the idea of chilled water stations available near the rooms and provision of glass water carafes .
The food was excellent with plenty of variety. Something to suit everyone.
Plenty of sunbeds available and also pleasant sitting areas.
Entertainment was provided in the evenings which was usually a singer.
On our departure the hotel manager was in the vicinity and came over to thank us for choosing the hotel and shook our hands!.
How nice was that !
Would definitely recommend and we will return .
Well what can I say - but thank you for a fabulous holiday
This hotel is wonderful - clean - friendly polite staff - great location
We stayed bed and breakfast so ate out each night - it’s a very chilled quiet resort so suited us perfectly for a change as we went to relax
We loved how the room was cleaned every day !!! Clean towels and bedding daily !!!
Pool area was great and never a problem to get a sun bed even at 11am
The rooftop bar was an added bonus and the sunsets were fab to watch from there
Only a few restaurants by the hotel - shout out to CafeSal - lovely food and staff
follow the headland walk to En Trec beach - absolutely gorgeous or go the other way and walk the headland walkway into the port/harbor where there are few shops and restaurants - such a lovely quiet chilled beachfront to relax
We also walked into town via the Main Street where again a few restaurants and shops
There’s also a train that takes you on an excursion around the area and you can hop on and off
All in all a lovely relaxing resort
Thank you 😊
Stunning hotel, our suite was amazing with comfortable beds. The views were breathtaking of the ocean & of the pool.
The staff were incredibly friendly from reception to cleaning, chef, restaurant, and bar teams.
Breakfast was great, and the rest of the day offered a mix of delicious salads, hot meals, and sweet treats.
Turning right on the front of our hotel lead to the wonderful Es tranc beach, turning left lead to the marina.
Only confusion was bar service, first night I was rudely told by a bar maid named Marga to go sit down at my table, where I explained it was our first night, but received no apology. Next day guests stood at the bar placing orders. Some days in the restaurant we were allowed the cocktails, other nights we weren't, as the week went on all guests were standing queuing at the bar?
Overall lovely hotel, would return and would definitely recommend.
We have just returned from a week’s stay in Majorca.
I couldn’t fault the hotel itself after undergoing recent renovation, it was beautiful. We received a very warm welcome. We were allocated a room on the first floor (111) with a spacious balcony which included our own sun loungers.
We had selected bed and breakfast, breakfast was great with lots on offer.
We opted to sit at the splash pool most days with having 2 little ones, it was quiet as majority of guests tended to opt for the larger pool. On the first few days, staff would come and take orders by the pool however this seemed to stop mid way through the week, it was nice to receive the service whilst sat by the pool.
There was evening entertainment every night which was great, I do feel there could’ve been more for the kids, the mini disco etc felt quite rushed and kids club wasn’t always open the hours advertised.
The sky bar was great, loved the whole vibe (DJ and music was fab).
I’d also like to give a special mention to Bruno and Joel on reception who were both amazing and a pleasure to chat with.
A very lovely hotel , lovely location . Bright , clean and comfortable. Rooms a good size with comfy beds. Great pool area plenty of sun beds & umbrellas . Fun pool for little ones with slides.
Entertainment was ok various singers. Sky bar is great but mosquitoes were rife.
Great cocktails , good coffees etc ,
Only negative I’m afraid was the food . It was to repetitive pork , fish , bolognaise ( no meat in sauce either ) for lunch & dinner same desserts lunch & dinner . Disappointing . Breakfast was good.
15 min walk to stunning beach . 20 min walk to harbour another stunning beach , few shops cafes etc.
All the staff were amazing, very happy and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for them. a was very clean & looked brand new inside & out as had been fully refurbished. Rooms were cleaned every day & towels changed daily too. Food was excellent & a great choice to choose from. Special mention to Judith in the restaurant & to Josie who cooked delicious omelettes to order at the live cooking station. The evening entertainment was good & there's a roof top bar with 360 degree views where you can see beautiful sunsets. We were definitely impressed with this hotel from start to finish so will be going back.
New room, especially great reception from Bruno and the colleague on 1st oct 25.
Like this simple and easier access to beach hotel.
