Castle Grove

A lovely place to stay. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we stayed but the service wasxexceptional. Outstanding breakfast too.

A grand manse. Well maintained. Simplicity personified. Old structure, and accept that. Great part of its charm.

This historical property is set a little off the beaten path, but do not let that detour you! Castle Grove is like stepping back in time with all modern day amenities. Staff are absolutely amazing, food is scrumptious

Fabulous location and excellent staff.

This was our second time staying at Castle Grove, this time with friends and once again we were not disappointed. The hotel really is a country home from home. We dined in the restaurant one evening and the food and service were exceptional. Will not hesitate to recommend to friends and family and looking forward to returning again soon.

Great food, great staff but the room was dated and confused. Mix matched furniture for the period, felt like a charity shop as opposed to a period property.
The bathroom would need upgrading, window frames rotting.. Grout dirty and mouldy. So much so we opted not to use the shower which seemed to have been installed a long time ago. Towel linen was tatty and frayed at the edges. Completely uninviting.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Small TV.
Carpets would need changed or professionally cleaned at least in the bedroom. Carpet threadbare on the stairs. The room was definitely tired and I regret paying the upgrade for a "Superior" room, it was such a let down. Especially considering we slept on two beds pushed together..
Rooms and landings should be decluttered and freshened up.

We had a brilliant stay at Castle grove for our wedding anniversary. The house is absolutely beautiful and so warm for a period home built in the 1600s. We were delighted with how delicious the food was in the restaurant after a 3 course Christmas menu. The staff were so friendly and warm - we really liked that it was family run and their cat, Elvis, was a real highlight for us. The room was very spacious and filled with beautiful antique furniture. We will definitely be back!

Was an amazing experience from when we arrived until we left. The staff were great, and the service was exceptional. The food was outstanding, and the service during dinner was unbelievable. The hotel was very clean and room was spacious. If you are looking for something different and total relaxation, then visit you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful property, excellent food and service, some of the best we had. The owners and staff are extraordinary. We had a damaged tire on our rental car as we pulled in. The owner assured us they would assist since everything was closed by the time we checked in. She remembered the next morning, and they called our rental company for information on how to proceed with our insurance, and they contacted the local tire shop to make sure he was open and could accommodate us to continue our vacation. One of the best manor homes we have stayed in. Thanks!
